Great place for some amazing vegan food. This was the first restaurant we tried after reaching Key West. A lot of cafes in Key West has this concept of Grocery Store + Cafe where a part of the establishment is a grocery store and there is a cafe right next to it. This is one of that kind. Food: They have a good wide range on their menu, a majority of them vegan - which is a great news. We started off with Frozen Mocha and Chocolate Buzz smoothies. All of their smoothies and juices are vegan unless noted otherwise. Both the smoothies were great and worth trying. For our meal, we went for Rise & Shine Bagel (Cashew cream cheese, tomato, and avocado on a plain whole wheat bagel), a half Pesto Garden Wrap (carrots, cucumber, tomato, avocado, broccoli, onion, and sprouts tossed in a pesto with vegan mayo, spicy pumpkin seeds and mixed greens) and a Black bean burger (served on a sprouted whole grain bun with chips and slaw). Rise & Shine Bagel was great. Bagel, unlike traditional ones, wasn't at all chewy and had a good bite. The cashew cream cheese, tomato, and avocado came together really well. Pesto Garden Wrap was good but not very impressive. To begin with, the wrap wasn't wrapped properly and it fell apart as soon as out from paper. However, the taste was good. What impressed us the most was the black bean burger which was probably the best we had till date. The patty tasted amazingly well with great seasoning. The chips and slaw were great too. Overall, a great meal. Ambiance: It is quite an open place with a couple of chairs and tables outside. The cafe is located at a junction so it is quite a buzzing place. There is also one sofa and a couple of high chairs too. Along the high chairs, the platform, acting as a table, is along the wall and there are a couple of magazines and flyers which will help you get information about where to go around the city and the water sports to indulge in. Very casual atmosphere. Green is the theme of the restaurant (furniture etc) which is quite soothing to the eyes. Service: The service was quite good. Not very quick but if you are in a relaxing mood you can use the wait time to just sit back and enjoy the weather. Plates disposal, to large extent, is by self - into one of their two trashes - regular trash and recycle trash. However, there would be employees who'd do that if they notice. Overall, a great place for having an amazing vegan meal - especially breakfast.

Make sure to try Date & Thyme for brunch or lunch! We didn't get there until the last day because we typically looked for food options closer to dinner, but boy are we glad we did stop in. So much food on our trip to Key West was good but heavy or meat focused. I was jonesing for some freshness that wasn't simply a "salad". Date & Thyme was just what I needed. The folks were friendly, and the shop was quaint. I had a sweet potato bowl with beans, red cabbage, and quinoa. My wife had the wrap, with an awesome pesto and herb mayo. Both of us had warm, full bellies when we left. It was also pretty cool to find a place that sold Ollipop (especially since my fiber intake could use a boost on this trip). And, maybe even more cool, Date & Thyme is responsible for rekindling our love for Golden Milk. They made a delicious chilled one, and we've been making them again at home ever since! I want to note that while we were there there was also a kid who made a big mess with his drink -- the staff was super chill about it and helped them get it cleaned up. Just good vibes all around. We were definitely impressed and would recommend.

response to the manager who appears as though she would survive a harsh winter… if you plan to use the fact that you are not gluten free certified as a defense you should let the customer know this in advance… we were told “there is a chance of cross contamination” not that they are not certified, or that the “gluten free” bagels are not certified gluten free😑Honestly this whole thing sucked but what really sucked is the fact that this was so upsetting most members of our group felt compelled to leave a review and the shift lead responded claiming we are lying💀. We’re not boomers or Karen’s yall just handled this situation very poorly. The icing on top of the cake is that they have yet to take responsibility/accountability or, if they don’t feel as though they are responsible, sympathy even.(for reference they use Sammy’s bagels… they do not come up gf) First review I have ever left, but was mind blown at this experience. From the beginning the employees had unhelpful and unwelcoming attitudes, which threw us off initially, but we brushed it off as we were excited to eat here. We are visiting from ft Myers for a birthday trip, and the birthday girl has celiac, so we were excited about the fact that they had gluten free bread as well. She ordered a gf bagel, and we went home. Around an hour and a half after we ate she began throwing up, and we realized she had gotten ahold of something at the restaurant. Understandably we were concerned, so we called to ask about potentially glutinous ingredients, and were met with entirely unhelpful, unapologetic, and unconcerned staff. The girl whose birthday we are celebrating now has to stay home all day, and potentially all night as well(on her birthday) We attempted to speak to the staff in person as well, and when we did, they showed us the bagels used, and wheat was listed as an allergen (not as may contain). Rather than attempting to reconcile the situation, they continued to be defensive, rude, and unapologetic. Unbelievably unprofessional and unacceptable… would not recommend as food was also...

Date & Thyme is Pure Magic — Our Favorite Place, Always

There are places that serve food, and then there are places that nourish your soul. Date & Thyme is the latter — our sanctuary for health, connection, and incredible organic food. From the moment you walk in, you’re met with the kindest, warmest people who make you feel like family. It’s more than just a market or a café — it’s home.

The curation of their products is truly extraordinary. Every item feels handpicked with love and purpose, from the thoughtfully crafted meals to the shelves of wellness essentials. You can tell that everything is chosen with integrity and care. The food is consistently fresh, vibrant, and so flavorful — it feels good in every way.

Their coffees? Outstanding. Their smoothies? Perfect. The pre-made local dishes, cold-pressed juices, and wholesome snacks? Spot on, every time. It’s so rare to find a place where everything is done right, and Date & Thyme gets it all right.

To be honest, we probably wouldn’t even come to Key West if Date & Thyme didn’t exist. That’s how much it means to us. It’s the heartbeat of this island — healthy, vibrant, and full of love. We are beyond grateful this gem exists. It’s where we go to refuel, to reset, and to reconnect with what matters.

Thank you, Date & Thyme, for creating a space that truly reflects love, health, and community. We love you more than...
