This place is absolutely disgusting. If you have any type of allergies, you will not be having a vacation you will be living in absolute misery. The suite we rented was very large which was why we picked it but it was so dirty. You could see the dust on the windows drapes, the drawers in the kitchen had miscellaneous crumbs, and God knows what else, in them.
They say that the kitchen was fully stocked with dishes but it was very short of that. The pans supplied had horrible scrapes on them, and left residue and black on anything that you cooked.
They provided you with two packs of dish, washer, soap, four large trash bags, and four small trash bags for the bathroom. You got four towels and each bathroom and just one set of linens for the beds. THEY DO NOT CLEAN DURING YOUR STAY! THEY DO PROVIDE MORE TOWELS AND WITH OUT CHARGE.
ANY EXTRA essentials u are expected to supply. TOILET PAPER, paper towel, trash bags, soap and laundry detergent!
The initial stock of supplies was, two rolls per bathroom of toilet paper, 1 paper towel 2 packs of washer machine soap.
We stayed there for seven days. We have a family of four. (Yeah that didn’t work out)
The flooring was primarily carpet, other than the bathroom and kitchen. The carpet was so gross, you could not walk without shoes or your sock and feet would be black.
They did provide a broom., however tbroom was so gross, I had to go out and buy a new one.
There was no mop or bucket supplied and I had to purchase this and CLEANING SUPPLIES (sprays and dish soap) Each night I had to TO DUST EVERY, as it collected on top of the furniture.
The laminate floor in the kitchen was very old and I cleaned and scrubbed it 2x to get the stickiness off it.
Whatever you do, do not take a tub and do not use the Jets, theirs a mold, buildup surround the Jets in tub.
The couch was so outdated that when you sat on it, you could see the dust particles in the air. We had to use a sheet to cover and sit on it.
Additionally, there were two other chairs that THEY use fabric padding on and also four in the kitchen around the table.
These fabric pads on the chairs were dirty and made our legs itch. I had to purchase towels to put over top of them so we could sit on the chairs.
Calypso Cay Resort is labeled when searching for places to stay: This is so far for the truth
Calypso Cay resort in Kissimmee Florida is not a water park it is a dump and health hazard. Calypso Cay resort is old, out dated and offers, health issues and is unsanitary Calypso Cay is not a water park Off premise is a small slide are, kiddy ones across the property @ the Holiday Inn. This is what Calypso Cay Resort advertises as there own water park, or at least it makes it sound like it when they are describing their facility. It is very misleading.
DO NOT not rely on calypso cay resort of Kissimmee’s online images, they are fabricated and facilities LOOK NOTHING LIKE THE PICTURES ONLINE.
As a mom planning a trip, I was absolutely embarrassed that I fell for this scam, I booked an overpriced DUMP. And we all suffered.
My kids and myself suffered from allergies the entire stay
Instead of relaxing and having a great vacation, I found myself cleaning constantly going to Walmart and getting different supplies in order to help accommodate my family, and myself to overcome the allergies and relieve symptoms
If you choose to stay at the Calypso Cay Resort in Kissimmee, Florida be prepared to clean the entire time. They offer no cleaning.
Note that the elevators didn’t work and we were on the third floor and had to haul luggage up and down.
Upon check-in the lady charged us $150 and then she said that she was reserving another $150 for incidentals. She said the extra $150 would be given back to us after we check out and all is well.
We left our room cleaner than it was when we came and our extra $150 for incidentals was not returned due to reasons they are not willing to provide me...
Read moreI have stayed at Calypso Cay multiple times over the years. This trip was nothing like what I have experienced anywhere before. The room had several defects: broken drawers, several cracks in the tiles, scuffed tables, the ceiling lights in the bedroom didn’t work, some of the outlets didn’t work, the shower barely worked, the drain in the tub was covered in mold, and so was the shower head. The staff throughout the entire stay were extremely unprofessional, lacked communication and knowledge, and did not take any responsibility throughout our stay. My terrible experience started while trying to check in at 9pm, after an entire day at universal studios.I called the front desk before even booking to see if I could request a specific room and floor and was assured that I am able to do so after booking and they would check their availability to see if they can add it to my reservation. I then called Calypso Cay’s front desk for a total of 5 times over the course of 3 weeks, and spoke to at least 3 different people, to request a 1 bedroom villa with a jacuzzi on the fifth floor, their top floor and was told each time that the room was attached to my reservation and I would’ve received it unless something happened to the actual room prior to my arrival. I always request the top floor since it is typically the quietest and I have chronic migraines which worsen with noise and make it extremely difficult to sleep. The night I arrived to check in, I was given a room that I was not promised. I was on the 2nd floor out of 5. I explained to the gentleman my confusion and that I called several times confirming my room and floor. The gentleman said this was not possible since and then said there was no record of me ever calling and not a single note. The gentleman said no other room was available and calypso cay was actually over booked completely. I had to then speak to the manager and wait for over an hour just for them to switch my room with someone else who still had not checked in for their stay. Upon arrival of my room I noticed the damages that I listed above. The following day the water pressure became worse and I had to use a cup and a bottle of water to shower after being at the parks all day. I called the front desk in regards to our shower being unusable and just dripping water droplets and our ceiling light not working and the lady said they would send maintenance over in 5 minutes. It took 3 hours, 3 phone calls, and 2 people to finally send over the maintenance worker. The worker showed up but did not speak English, only Spanish, and used google translate and hand motions to communicate. He told us our shower head was fine, it was not, and that this is a water pressure issue and that everyone in the entire resort is experiencing this. I did not understand how this was possible since I called 3 times, spoke to two different people, and not once did they say this was a known issue that is currently working on being resolved in the resort. The maintenance worker assured us that the issue would be fixed that night or the following morning. Sure enough on the following morning, the water was even worse. I called the front desk since we could not leave to go to the parks until this issue was fixed, we had not had a proper shower in 2 days now. The front desk workers, Natalie and Theresa, did not tell us this was a known issue and said they would send the supervisor to double check for us and he would be there within 10 minutes. This time it took over an hour, 3 calls, and two people to send over the supervisor. The supervisor came with another maintenance worker, fixed the ceiling light, and then gave us a new shower head. He also explained that the water pressure is low for everyone and people are complaining and there is nothing they can do. The shower was now functional after the shower head switch and the ceiling light blew out that same day. I have videos of the shower for proof but google only...
Read moreDumpster fire! Let me start off by saying we survived the experience and if it was possible to leave a 0 star review I absolutely would. After reading several other negative reviews I can say I am not alone in my experience with this establishment. We only stayed here due to a timeshare restriction, and it is a one and done for us. The use of the word "resort" is inappropriate at best. The rooms are completely outdated and dirty. I refused to walk on the floor without shoes and our microwave was rusted. The AC unit wreaked and it was barely functional. Our bed was broken with the posts leaning and the furniture is oversized for such a small space and most definitely picked up from the curb on bulk trash day. Our bathtub was despicable and seemed to be pieced together by another tub and I would never ever take a bath or use the jets if my life depended on it. The place is grimy and gross and leaves you feeling like you need an additional round of vaccinations or antibiotics at the very least. The grounds are also poorly lit.
The timeshare presentation with Capital Vacations was an additional dumpster fire. The bar is on the floor. The contract states 120 minutes, but they will try to hold you hostage until you're dead, qualify for social security, or develop Stockholm Syndrome. The scripted performance is absolutely ridiculous! They try to badger people into a timeshare and make passive comments in front of the clients in hopes of "sealing the deal." Ridiculous! My husband and I were transparent this was not going to be a realistic option for us and Frederico fanned out his credit cards stating "Some people don't want to save money. We are just trying to save lives." What on Earth?!? Sir, your rewards cards, Chase Bank card, and store cards are not impressive. It proved his intelligence in regards to interest rates. I do not think passive comments serve them in the way they were hoping for. Not to mention our agent continued to exploit the "death" of his wife due to breast cancer and attempt to sell us the lifestyle he provides his daughter with a whole camera roll as "evidence." Questionable considering all the pictures were clearly placed in a particular order on purpose. Fabricated? I think so. When we were due to be released they continued to try to sell the timeshare package in the lobby by having an additional agent attempt to provide us a "great deal" and stated he "was not with Capital Vacations." Sir, why are you in their lobby then trying to sell their timeshares? Make it make sense. Their feeble attempts, disgusting tactics, passive aggressive behaviors, and scripted underwhelming presentations were embarrassing and foul. We ESCAPED at the 140 minute mark as they tried to strong arm us in the lobby stating "we weren't listening" when we had fulfilled our commitment of 120 minutes. Some reviews state they were held hostage for 3+ hours (marked safe). I feel as if their team only succeeds when the guests have been held hostage long enough that they sign up only as a means to an end. For those familiar with dating apps- imagine every individual you have swiped left on in one room trying to sell you something for hours on end... and that's only the beginning. The layers of low intellect manipulation tactics as a whole is less than entertaining and the "breakfast" is lack luster as it was "catered" by Wawa with bagel sandwiches, but not enough for everyone. Based on a true story, do not stay here. There are plenty of places closer to Disney World and with much better reviews and standards (they...
