Holiday Inn Express & Suites S Lake Buena Vista by IHG — Hotel in Kissimmee

Overall, 5 stars. The location was perfect, loved how close it was to the parks, Publix, outlets, dining choices etc. as a former local, I know the area well so I chose my hotels accordingly. The purpose of our trip was Disney as we are passholders. I chose this hotel based on location, reviews and price was very reasonable. The lobby was clean and welcoming, as was Nicholas at check-in who knew I was already checked in from the app and had my stuff ready to go. The room was great, I gave 4 stars due to really minor things like the bathroom having no ventilation so it became very hot, but we wedged the door open with a flip flop and it was fine. The roll up blinds were a little worn and few pulls in the carpet but nothing major. The ac did seem to leak a little water but honestly with the Florida heat it’s to be expected this time of year. It wasn’t anything that hindered the experience. The housekeepers only left 3 towels, even with 6 of us, so we made sure to ask for extra on the way in from the parks, not a huge deal but made a note of it so next time we stay we remember to ask on the way in so we don’t have to trek back down. The beds were so comfortable, the pillows and linens were great. Room was spacious and fit 6 comfortably. 3 adults, 3 kids. Breakfast was better than expected, the staff was friendly and attentive, refilling food, helping with the traffic flow and making sure everyone had what they needed. Other hotels in the area have stopped filling breakfast items in the middle of breakfast even if people were still coming, so the fact that breakfast items were being refilled and freshened up during the breakfast hours was really impressive. The breakfast was hot, the selection was great and did vary. (We stayed 3 nights) The pool area was great, make sure you grab towels from the front desk on your way out. They had bingo going at one pool near the bar and grill. We did dinner there the first night and it was good food and moderately priced- easier then going out or door dashing. The jerk chicken wrap and pizza was really good. The drinks were delicious as well. Bar staff was friendly and accommodating. We didn’t experience the zip line, trampolines or rock wall (we arrived on a Sunday and they were closed Monday & Tuesday) however they were really a nice included feature for some added fun and next time we would definitely make time for them! The day we checked out, my van was broken into (I don’t keep valuables in there, aside from change and I don’t lock the doors, replaced a window once from a break in and didn’t want to spend that $330 again). It was no fault of the hotel, it can happen anywhere. They did take all my car chargers and change jar with some bills (about $40), and ransacked the rest of the van and left the doors open. It happened between 9:15p and 9:30a. I did get up with the manager Kellie about it who handled it very well and did replace my car charger which was really sweet of her. Again, it can happen anywhere but I wanted my review to be transparent. My mom who was with me said she wouldn’t stay again because of this but it wouldn’t deter me from staying here. The Holiday Inn Express @ Lake Buena Vista proved to be a hidden gem in heart of the vacation capital. Being so close to everything you’d think the hotel would be “loud” with rambunctious vacationers coming and going. However, because the hotel offers a myriad of amenities, the guests enjoy both challenging adventures on a zip line or on an adult sized reduced gravity bouncing device, or total relaxation at any of the three pools on the property.

Amenities. From the common to the extraordinary, this Holiday Inn Express offers it all. Starting your morning with a selection of hot breakfast staples such as eggs, bacon or sausage, sausage gravy and biscuits will surely tempt the breakfast lovers. Guests can also enjoy the wide variety of cereals and fruit and a side of a delicious pastry. Coffee aficionados will enjoy that flavorful brew all day long served complimentary near the dining room.

After finishing that filling breakfast, the faint sounds of people playing and splashing in the crystalline water will beckon your presence as if calling you personally. Two pools are equipped with slides for the little ones and the little ones at heart, while the third is mostly for the couples or adults wanting an escape to a serene and relaxing place.

At cast away cove (on hotel grounds) you’ll enjoy food and beverages served from two tiki bars and at reasonable prices. There you’ll find the zip line, the reduced gravity bouncer, the mini golf, and the outdoor gas grills available to hotel guests. Of note, we witnessed that these grills are scrubbed and cleaned at least twice per day.

The property offers two internet access computers with a networked printer. Free guest wifi is available throughout the property. For IHG members, this property offers the auto-connect internet feature through a connection only available to members. For workout and body definition fans, the gym is just around the main lobby. The gym offers the usual machines, the usual balls and sets of free weights along with floor mats for yoga practitioners.

Service We were welcomed with great enthusiasm and cheerful smiles by the front desk personnel. All members of the staff were welcoming and gracious including the housekeeper along with the breakfast attendants. Having extended our stay from 5 to a full 7 days we got to know more of our housekeepers, we learned their names and a little more about them personally. We met more members of the staff through our 3 year old who charmed and entertained and really got to interact with them to the point they expressed the sorrow they felt by our imminent departure. The service we received from everyone at the hotel is nothing short of exemplary. I’d like to recognize the following people who became important figures in our vacation, Melissa (FD), Nickolas (FD), Anna V (FD), Marcia (f&b), Ada, Sofia, and Imanuel from (housekeeping). This is now my go to resort in the Orlando Kissimmee area and I will be returning not only because the place is amazing, but the people I met there...
