I brought my children on their first vacation and they wanted to eat at the establishment in Kissimmee FL on irlo Bronson.
We are white.
As soon as we're seated(party of 7) we were given a waitress who wasn't using active listening skills. She was clearly upset about her table being sat when she was about to clock out. •got a new server.
New server, with male Hispanic manager and other employees crowded our corner of the table in the doorway. All so they could talk about my service dog, in another language, in front of my family.
I told them it's rude to talk about a person, wether they are being complimentary or not, in a language that they assume that the customer doesn't speak!
It escalated further when the staff all ran back to the kitchen and warned the other employees that the white people can understand Spanish. The cooks got loud, and started banging and trash talking.
We asked for the manager and the Hispanic male came back. He doesn't see anything wrong with talking about people in another language in front of them assuming they don't know what they are talking about. While being rude and belligerent.
If you work in culinary, even if you are mad, you don't joke about contaminated food for the trouble table. You cannot talk about people who you are helping, in another language and hope they don't understand. That's just plain bullying. Which is illegal.
To top it all off, we were stereotyped about our appearance by the Hispanic male manager, as he became angry and thought he was in the right and aloud to talk about guests in front of them in another language. Because as he stormed off he said "I knew this was gonna happen!" In reference to us saying we don't want to eat here when we can hear your staff in the kitchen talking about messing with the food
So my questions are Does olive garden really ignore when their staff talks about a woman with a terminal disease in front of her because they think she won't understand? Is olive garden no longer a safe place for families with needs for medical accommodations? It feels like it honestly. what are you going to do about this? Because we have the event recorded. (In FL in public you can record anywhere, anything. As well as the restaurant warning that the restaurant is recording.)
This was absolutely ridiculous, uncalled for and complete discrimination. Just because I have a medical service dog, doesn't mean that I don't deserve to be able to have dinner with out being bothered because my durable medical equipment is with me. Would your workers croud an old lady with a walker? Or a cane, cpac machine even???? How would you feel if you took your kids somewhere for fun because they tell you your doctor appointments take forever and they're afraid of you dying. Just to not eat and see their mom upset. This was Absolutely disgusting behavior, and I may consider going to the media with it. It's bad enough to be sick, let alone spoken about it in front of you without you in the conversation! This was mean, uncalled for, bullying. I expect corporate to do something about...
Read moreWe normally really enjoy Olive Garden. This one was just struggling. To note they were not real busy, we got seated immediately.
We got seated at a table right by the bar, which is totally fine. But our waitress was the bartender. She got us our waters and took our appetizer order fairly quickly. We needed another minute to pick dinner. She said she'd be back in a few minutes. About 10 minutes later she did comeback and took our order. We did not have any bread yet and we had sipped half of our waters.
Another 10 minutes or so a different worker brought out our appetizer. And didn't offer to refill our empty waters. We had enough time to slowly eat our app (maybe 15 minutes) before our salad/soup came out, again brought by someone different. That person, who appeared to be a manager offered to get new water. She did not take away the dirty plate or cups and did not offer cheese for the salad or soup. The soup was also the wrong kind but got swaped. Another 10 minutes our original waitress comes and removes dirty plates and cups. Another 10 minutes or so and a different manger brings our meals. Now I ordered something specifically with sautéed shrimp. The kitchen did not use sautéed shrimp, it was just the normal pink cooked shrimp. Just went with it because it had taken so long already. Pic added, supposed to be the carbonara. Had to ask for cheese on top for both. Our original waitress stopped by minutes later to check in, we asked for to go boxes and breadsticks. ANOTHER 15 minutes for her to bring that.
To note, we were seated by the to go order pick up window, and a few customers seemed to have some issues with their orders too.
Overall, the food was good. But the quality of staff was just lacking compared to other dinners we've had at Olive Garden. By the end we were just irritated and wanted to go home due to all the little...
Read moreOn May 27, 2024, I went with my family to the Olive Garden restaurant located at 5021 W. Irlo Bronson Memorial Hwy, Kissimmee, FL, 34746. Upon arrival we were informed that we would have to wait 10 minutes for our table. After those 10 minutes they accompanied us to a table located at the back of the restaurant. Next to us, a waitress was kindly serving the other people, and then she left, without even offering us water. We waited like this for 10 more minutes, and no one even came to offer us water for my 4-year-old daughter, so I had to get up from my chair and look for the nearest waitress, who promised to send the corresponding waitress to my table. 7 more minutes passed and no one came to our table, so I again had to get up and call a waitress, who on this occasion checked the table number to send the corresponding waitress. After that, we had to wait 5 more minutes without even having water on our table. Given this clear lack of respect, for the third time I stood up from my seat and went to ask the manager. After a few minutes, a woman arrived, who said she was the manager, who understood our anger without being able to give us an answer to our almost 30 minute wait. Given our complaint, the manager called the manager of the establishment and chef, who interviewed us and could not explain the reasons for waiting for so long without water or cutlery on the table, and without being able to order the food. Upon our complaint, Chef gave us a card so that we could make the corresponding complaint, and the manager stated that the value of the consumption was going to be returned, something that never happened, for a value of $45.98. According to the card delivered, the General Manager of the premises is Androu Sefin. I make this claim to the appropriate parties so that the service and its control can...
