We are probably in the minority of guests who really didn't care for the location of Marriott Sabal Palms. It adjoins the property of Marriott World Cdnter. You enter off of World Center Drive, then wind your way through and past loading docks, dumpsters, and parking lots behind World Center. And speed bumps, lots of speed bumps. This is a timeshare property, and all units are complete 2 BR villas. Positives- although older, they are well maintained, and very well equipped, including full kitchens and full size washers and dryers. The shower in the primary bedroom is perhaps the nicest I have seen in any timeshare unit anywhere. Negatives: These are 2 story units with NO ELEVATORS. If you are the least mobility challenged, or have heavy luggage try to get a ground floor unit. There is no staff to help with luggage most times. Also be aware there are two steps of tile to negotiate from kitchen to LR, and also from MBR to bathroom. Again, if traveling with children or elderly, these could be a safety issue. In that case, book an accessible room. The " water views " across the golf course are fetid retention ponds-- green and murky from pesticide laden runoff from the golf course. The ponds are not fenced, and being Florida , alligators might at times want to visit. We saw children running along the ponds unsupervised- Overall, would recommend Sabal Palms for adults primarily. The steps inside the units, steep stairs to upper floor, and open ponds do not make this an ideal place for young children to stay.

Beautiful Suite with Steps. If you are okay with going up and down two steps then this is a great place to stay. There are small lights by each set of steps which helped at night. There is a porch light with no switch so it stays on all night. The master bathroom has a grand shower with a curve of glass square tiles as the outside wall. There is a high opening between the shower and the main bathroom. The porch light next to the glass squares and the high opening caused the master bedroom to be very light at night. I would not say you could read a book by the light but it was difficult to sleep with so much light in our room. I finally stuffed some extra pillows in the high opening which blocked the light and made sleeping easier. Of course I removed the pillows each morning so the air could flow in and around the bathroom and shower. My first impression is very bad but once you get there this is a very nice resort. The only way to get to Sabal Palms is to drive over a half mile behind the Orlando World Center Marriott, so you are driving past the loading docks and storage containers. I felt like I was using the back door. This was a quiet place. It looks like the families use Imperial Palms (3 bedroom suites) so the Sable Palms was quieter. Next time I may use Royal Palms. All three resorts (Imperial Palms, Royal Palms, and Sable Palms) are on the same property and can share all of the amenities.

This is my new favorite place to stay! I went for a convention and I had to make myself leave tge room every morning because it was so nice and peaceful. It started with a pre-arrival email from Chris welcoming me and making sure they would have everything ready and if I needed anything special. Two bedrooms, two full baths, full kitchen, living and dining area, balcony overlooking the golf course. Ta da! My husband came with me and he only left the room if he had to. You have access to the amenities at the Marriott World Center and an on demand shuttle that will take you back and forth. All of the sessions and meetings were over there so that was very convenient. You're five minutes from Disney and the other parks and there's a shuttle that will take you there as well. Here's the cherry on top: It's a resort with no resort fees and free parking! Get your bags packed and let's go! Every staff person I met was courteous, professional, fun and attentive on the entire property. My convention is there again next year and I'm just as excited to be staying in the same place. I own a travel business so I know a good place when I stay there and this is one. One bedrooms are available and this is perfect for families (our 2 bedroom slept at least 8) and you have the full kitchen for meals. You will not be disappointed!

My family and I stayed here for 2 nights in late August during a short Disney trip. Normally we stay on Disney property but since we were only visiting for a short stay, we took a gamble on this place and I am glad that we did. ||I'll start with some pros|1. The staff: The staff at this resort, and all throughout the Marriott World Center Property, were all exceptionally pleasant and helpful. They went out of our way to make our stay comfortable and enjoyable. At check-in, the front desk associate made sure we had a room close to the pool and playground for our family. ||2. The rooms/space: The room we stayed in was a 2 bedroom, 2 bath, full kitchen, dining area, and living room. It has seen a relatively recent remodel and did not feel dated or old. Kitchen was well stocked and clean. There was plenty of space for everyone to spread out without being on top of one another. There are a couple of steps leading down from the kitchen to the main living room so be careful if you have little kids. We were on the second floor and there are no elevators. It wasn't such a big deal for us but wanted to put that out there for other prospective guests. ||3. The atmosphere/amenities: While the main hotel at the World Center is very loud and dare I say chaotic, Sabal Palms was very quiet and peaceful. It did not seem very busy, which we liked. Also the pool was quiet as well. It never seemed very crowded and we often had the entire pool to ourselves. Additionally from 4-5 PM on the day we checked in, one of the other Marriott Vacation Club Properties at the World Center was having free hot dogs and local craft beers. Anyone staying at the Vacation Club properties could attend. There was live music as well and we had a blast. ||4. Location: Very close to Disney World. You do not need to get on the highway if you do not want to and all of the parks are super close. EPCOT is maybe 5-10 minuets away and MK is maybe 10-15 minutes. Super convenient to be that close to the Disney bubble. ||Now for some minor cons|1. Distance to the main World Center Hotel: Sabal Palms is tucked way from the main hotel. It's about a 15 minute walk up to the main hotel if you want to use their pool. They do run a shuttle service from the vacation club properties to the main hotel. Getting to the main hotel was easy however leaving was another story. ||While we were there, there was a large convention leaving and another one arriving. This made the entrance in front of the hotel a chaotic nightmare. Cars were parked in front of the hotel and nobody could move/leave. After getting on the shuttle to go back to the room it probably took us 20 minutes before we were actually clear of the front entrance. The staff tried their best to manage it but there was only so much they could do. Our shuttle driver said this amount of traffic is pretty normal. So if you go to the main hotel to use the pool, just know it could be some time before the shuttle is actually able to pick you up and take you back.||2. Lack of Access to all World Center Amenities: |While you have access to the main World Center pool, you do not get access to the Water Park. We knew this ahead of time but if we are staying on property, I feel that Vacation Club should have access. Also the kids splash pad and slides at the main pool were closed at 6:30 PM, while the rest of the pool remained open. Not sure why those amenities closed early but it was kind of a let down we couldn't use them. ||Conclusion: |Marriott Sabal Palms is definitely a property we would stay at again. It was overall a positive experience with a few minor inconveniences that can be easily overlooked. Next time I am not sure I would venture up to the main hotel due to the chaotic nature of the entrance and the hotel itself. We would probably just stick around Sabal Palms and have a quiet...

We have stayed here several times and it continues to offer us everything we want from a holiday. The rooms are spacious with an excellent shower in the master bedroom. The facilities in the unit are very good, 3 tv’s, large cooker, microwave, dishwasher, washer and drier. The utensils and crockery are all good. The patios vary on outlook, but you can see the golf course from all of them. The pool areas are very good, table tennis, shuffle board, chess and draughts and a bar football in the reception area. There used to be a cheese and wine event here on Thursday, but sadly that has stopped which is a real shame. There is however still the hotdog and wine at the Royal Palms on a Tuesday. You can access the water pool area at the main hotel for $25each, and there is on site transportation to other hotels here. One area that used to get really negative feedback was the tennis and basketball area, which in truth still looks a mess, however this area is not owned by the Sabal Palms vacation club, but the World Centre next to Sabal. The disappointing thing is they both carry the name Marriott and I expect Marriott to have improved this area, no matter which hotel it belongs too. Location of the hotel is fantastic, as it is literally a 10 min drive to Disney, 15 mins to Disney springs, about 35 mins to Universal. Shopping areas , buena vista outlets, 10 mins, Walmart 10 mins, Orlando premium outlets Vineland 20 mins, Kissimmee 15 mins. The greatest asset of this hotel for us has always been the staff, they are superb, always happy to help, and make every effort to help if required. Special thanks to, Ed&Brian, from maintenance, Jonathan front desk and the fantastic Glenda Baker for always making sure we have the greatest vacation,...
