My family and I stayed here for 2 nights in late August during a short Disney trip. Normally we stay on Disney property but since we were only visiting for a short stay, we took a gamble on this place and I am glad that we did. ||I'll start with some pros|1. The staff: The staff at this resort, and all throughout the Marriott World Center Property, were all exceptionally pleasant and helpful. They went out of our way to make our stay comfortable and enjoyable. At check-in, the front desk associate made sure we had a room close to the pool and playground for our family. ||2. The rooms/space: The room we stayed in was a 2 bedroom, 2 bath, full kitchen, dining area, and living room. It has seen a relatively recent remodel and did not feel dated or old. Kitchen was well stocked and clean. There was plenty of space for everyone to spread out without being on top of one another. There are a couple of steps leading down from the kitchen to the main living room so be careful if you have little kids. We were on the second floor and there are no elevators. It wasn't such a big deal for us but wanted to put that out there for other prospective guests. ||3. The atmosphere/amenities: While the main hotel at the World Center is very loud and dare I say chaotic, Sabal Palms was very quiet and peaceful. It did not seem very busy, which we liked. Also the pool was quiet as well. It never seemed very crowded and we often had the entire pool to ourselves. Additionally from 4-5 PM on the day we checked in, one of the other Marriott Vacation Club Properties at the World Center was having free hot dogs and local craft beers. Anyone staying at the Vacation Club properties could attend. There was live music as well and we had a blast. ||4. Location: Very close to Disney World. You do not need to get on the highway if you do not want to and all of the parks are super close. EPCOT is maybe 5-10 minuets away and MK is maybe 10-15 minutes. Super convenient to be that close to the Disney bubble. ||Now for some minor cons|1. Distance to the main World Center Hotel: Sabal Palms is tucked way from the main hotel. It's about a 15 minute walk up to the main hotel if you want to use their pool. They do run a shuttle service from the vacation club properties to the main hotel. Getting to the main hotel was easy however leaving was another story. ||While we were there, there was a large convention leaving and another one arriving. This made the entrance in front of the hotel a chaotic nightmare. Cars were parked in front of the hotel and nobody could move/leave. After getting on the shuttle to go back to the room it probably took us 20 minutes before we were actually clear of the front entrance. The staff tried their best to manage it but there was only so much they could do. Our shuttle driver said this amount of traffic is pretty normal. So if you go to the main hotel to use the pool, just know it could be some time before the shuttle is actually able to pick you up and take you back.||2. Lack of Access to all World Center Amenities: |While you have access to the main World Center pool, you do not get access to the Water Park. We knew this ahead of time but if we are staying on property, I feel that Vacation Club should have access. Also the kids splash pad and slides at the main pool were closed at 6:30 PM, while the rest of the pool remained open. Not sure why those amenities closed early but it was kind of a let down we couldn't use them. ||Conclusion: |Marriott Sabal Palms is definitely a property we would stay at again. It was overall a positive experience with a few minor inconveniences that can be easily overlooked. Next time I am not sure I would venture up to the main hotel due to the chaotic nature of the entrance and the hotel itself. We would probably just stick around Sabal Palms and have a quiet...

Read moreWe have stayed here several times and it continues to offer us everything we want from a holiday. The rooms are spacious with an excellent shower in the master bedroom. The facilities in the unit are very good, 3 tv’s, large cooker, microwave, dishwasher, washer and drier. The utensils and crockery are all good. The patios vary on outlook, but you can see the golf course from all of them. The pool areas are very good, table tennis, shuffle board, chess and draughts and a bar football in the reception area. There used to be a cheese and wine event here on Thursday, but sadly that has stopped which is a real shame. There is however still the hotdog and wine at the Royal Palms on a Tuesday. You can access the water pool area at the main hotel for $25each, and there is on site transportation to other hotels here. One area that used to get really negative feedback was the tennis and basketball area, which in truth still looks a mess, however this area is not owned by the Sabal Palms vacation club, but the World Centre next to Sabal. The disappointing thing is they both carry the name Marriott and I expect Marriott to have improved this area, no matter which hotel it belongs too. Location of the hotel is fantastic, as it is literally a 10 min drive to Disney, 15 mins to Disney springs, about 35 mins to Universal. Shopping areas , buena vista outlets, 10 mins, Walmart 10 mins, Orlando premium outlets Vineland 20 mins, Kissimmee 15 mins. The greatest asset of this hotel for us has always been the staff, they are superb, always happy to help, and make every effort to help if required. Special thanks to, Ed&Brian, from maintenance, Jonathan front desk and the fantastic Glenda Baker for always making sure we have the greatest vacation,...
