I've visited this restaurant about 5 years ago and had a great experience - fresh food, great service, friendly staff. We went here again with a group of friends, expecting the same pleasant meal we had before, we were sadly mistaken. The tables, chairs, floors and walls are drab, uninviting, and not well kept. When we walked in, we were told we could sit anywhere, but most of the empty table were still full of previous diners dirty dishes. At first I thought we had gotten there during closing, because many of the lights were off and there were staff rolling silverware into napkins, as if there were prepping for the next day. We sat and we were promptly asked for drink orders.... We were not helped for another 35 minutes, even after multiple attempts to flag down wait staff. Looking around at other tables, it seemed like we were not the only diners having a poor friday night out - delayed service and not wait staff to be seen. We decided to get our food to go, so we ordered... And waited another 35 minutes for our food. As we were ready to walk out, our food came... Later to find out the half the meals we ordered were not the meals in our carry out. My meal was burned on the bottom (not sure why or how corn tortillas got burned) and most of the food was stone cold. We had 6 people in our party, and $80 for our to go order... $80 I will choose to spend somewhere else next time. This may be a convenient location near shopping, but I would much rather drive a little further for better service, better atmosphere, and...
Read moreI've ordered from El Rodeo through Mr Delivery a few times now. Their setup is wonderful, making it easy to order vegetarian food. Each time, they've honored my online requests of no tomatoes and no onion.
The food is very good. We have only ever ordered their vegetarian fajitas and will probably not change this order. The fajitas are delicious, with a variety of well spiced veggies. The tortillas are always warm when they arrive. I do wish more tortillas were provided with them, but I am not too concerned about this. In addition to this, our orders come with Spanish rice, guacamole, lettuce, and refried beans. All are delicious, especially the Spanish rice. I've only had Spanish rice from a few places, and El Rodeo, by far, has been my favorite. All in all, you get a lot of food for what I consider a cheap price. It is very worth it.
They also provide chips and salsa with your order, which surprised me due to not expecting this. The chips and salsa are very good. The salsa is thinner than most places, but I actually enjoy this type of salsa.
I would definitely recommend El Rodeo. They have a large, nicely laid out menu for vegetarians and...
Read moreMy family and I went to the El Rodeo behind Cracker Barrel yesterday. We have been coming here for well over a decade. The food was really good before but yesterday when we went after church my son started eating his Burritos California and within 15 minutes he rushed to the bathroom. He was in there for about 15 minutes. He came out complaining his stomach was hurting and he wanted to go to the car to lay down. This is the first time this has happened.
The cheese dip came out lukewarm warm, they gave up half a basket of chips. The food was barely warm and for a family of 4 we paid $120. I know the country has been hit hard with inflation but for 3 sodas it was $14. For 2 small cheese dips it was also $14. They are also charging for the chips and salsa they bring you when you first sit down. A friend of mine and I went to El Mesón a few weeks ago and it was 10x better and not outrageously priced. El Rodeo has gone downhill. Now I know why we were the only ones in...
