Elf’d Up — Restaurant in Lake View Township

We were so excited to visit Elf'd Up. One negative is they do not take reservations for tables. We arrived about 1:15pm and as we went expected there was a long line out the door. I asked the man at the door about how long the wait would be. He said at least an hour. On a positive note, shortly after arriving, a large party left so we were able to get in within about 25 minutes. However, they do not keep a list for tables. If one becomes available you have to jump on it. This makes for a very uncomfortable atmosphere. People sitting at tables are stalked by others waiting for a table. Again we got very lucky and a previously reserved table opened up. It was in fact very uncomfortable enjoying your meal and drinks with people standing next to your table staring at you. The bar is very small and not much room to move. NOW THE POSITIVES, it is decorated with everything Elf. They have a fun Elf inspired food and drink menu. Everything we ordered was great. I suggest the "Ninny Muggins" drink. This would be a perfect place to stop by while doing a Christmas bar crawl. Other than the "creepers" by the tables, it looks amazing. Our waitress was very attentive and friendly. I would go again but just to stop in...

Elf’d is beautiful and goes deep into Christmas decoration, you feel like entering a Christmas movie. It’s magical and the decor is impeccable! I ordered a chicken sandwich that was amazing, and a Christmas drink called Sleigh something that was not good, but last year I had great drinks there so it might be a one time kind of thing. The reason I’m giving 4 stars is not because of the drink I didn’t like but because of our server. We were in a group of five Brazilians, the server had no patience with our pronunciation and at first sight started to treat us bad. At some point she just passed by murmuring “I’m getting another server for the table” but at the end she continued with us. I’m not writing it to make her be fired, but to warn about the staff’s behavior. I don’t know the reasons she treated us bad, I don’t know her day and what’s up with her life, but neither does she about us. We all have problems. We felt unwelcome and walking on egg shells every time we needed help at the table. The other staff were awesome! I’m coming back because I believe one staff doesn’t speak to the whole restaurant, and I need to have the chicken...

We did not have as long as a wait time as other people we waited about 25 minutes in line outside. It was a little disappointing cuz we had hoped to get the green waffles and a breakfast burrito and nowhere on the menu in that area did it say that was only served until 1:00. It was 1:01 when our waitress was taking our order and said we could not get the brunch items. I feel like she should have led with that when she sat us down and said that if you wanted any brunch items you need to get your order in before 1. We had sat down at a about 12:40. I would say honestly the neatest thing about the place was the cocktail assortment. I had to ask the food runner for the blue cheese that I ordered and they did not put on my burger. Glad we asked him because our waitress never came back to our table. A different waitress came by later after we were almost done eating to ask how things were and take plates away.
