Horrible Drinks. 16 dollars per drink. We tried all of them. At first we were so hopeful since the presentation was over the top. Atmosphere was amazing. Buddy the elf was so much fun. He was the life of the party. They have this place beautifully decorated. The drinks were so pretty to look at. But once we tasted them . I had to throw it out. Horrible taste. I have never ever complained about taste. The smells coming out of the fake decorations they put in the drink was nasty. I smelled plastic while forcing my drink. The waitress even recommended it. How can anyone drink something that smells like plastic. I almost got sick from the terrible taste. The drinks had cheap liquor. Bartenders need to do better. Also every single drink was so nasty. Flavor was horrible. I was better off ordering a canned beer. At least there i know what to expect. I would only come for the decorations and buddy jokes. But the festive drinks are a Nooo!!!!!!!!! Also I don't mind tipping but to ask for a tip when you already added a 20 % tip is over the top. Am I suppose to pay 30%?...
Read moreI went to The Stretch the other night for a Blackhawks game, as it is one of the official Chicago locations for games.
The bar itself is fairly standard. There are front and back rooms, and it's fairly spacious. They do a good job of making sure the hockey game is the focus, as they play the audio from the game throughout the bar and have it on multiple screens.
They have a somewhat limited variety of beer on tap (compared to other Chicago bars), but you can find something you like. Their food is a pretty standard bar menu, but does the trick as something to munch on during the games.
The wait staff was not on top of checking on our table, as we did not see our waitress for almost two full periods. This is fine, but when a game is going late (this particular one went into two overtimes), it's nice to have your check all squared away so that you can leave right away on a work night.
All that being said, I would certainly come back if invited, as I had a good time there. Nothing special, nothing awful,...
Read moreOMG! What a huge PLEASANT surprise. This place is fantastic. Admittedly, I only picked here because of the name and nostalgia. I'm a big 80's Gen Xer fan. We were going to see the Cubs (visiting from Atlanta) and I just happened to be wearing my Save Ferris shirt. So why not, right?! However, let me say the food and service was A-MAZ-ING. My wife had the BBQ salad. I had Chicken Parm sandwich. Neither of us could finish our food, but it wasn't due to lack of taste. It was delicious. The service was wonderful too. Our server was nice enough to take our photo in Cameron's dad's Ferrari. My only beef was the music was way too loud. Now the setup of the place is more like a bar where you'd go to grab a quick beer before the game starts, but the food and service was on par with any "mid" restaurant (Chili's, Applebee's, Wild Wings, etc.) Give them a try the next time you're at Wrigley. You...
