My crew ended up spending the best night of our trip on a Friday night at Slots A Fun. Initially we stumbled upon the coin machines and my twin won $100 after we fiddled around with a couple of different games. We entertained ourselves for about half an hour before the boys in the group started getting hungry, so we sat down and were looking up nearby food options but at 9:30 we started hearing music coming from one side of the building. My sister and I scurried over to find the source of the grooves and there was a DJ!!! She saw us dancing towards her and immediately crowned us with flashing flower headbands, so we retrieved the rest of our group and suddenly in what felt like a montage in a movie, we were all dancing with matching light up crowns and shrouded in bubbles all from this sweet little Fairy of DJland. She told us that the bar had $2 hotdogs which the boys went wild for, I got $2 popcorn and THEN we found out that she had KARAOKE available! FOR FREE. Y’all, this is all on The Strip. There were hula hoops, we line danced, she sang for us and was even able to get the shy guy of the group to sing a duet with her. After the initial intention to leave at 9:30, we ended up staying until 1 in the morning. The DJ was our little genie in a lamp because she made our every wish and beyond come true. I wish we coulda come back the next night but we were in town for a concert which took place on Saturday. The whole group wore their light up flower crowns to the concert! We love you Circus Circus Fairy DJ! Don’t...
Read moreSlots-a-Fun is lots a fun!. I expected a lot more. Maybe I didn't know what to expect. But for the last year I've been wanting to check this place out. As a Las Vegas local Musician for many years, started working as a Musician in the Casinos in the late 70's I've been around Casino's most of my life so this is nothing new to me. It's basically a large, simple rectangular old style Slot Parlor out of the 60's and 70's. Nothing fancy with just a few modern slots on either end. But it is a cool place to take out-of-towners for an old school Vegas experience. With few exceptions, most of the slots take only quarters & dollar coins. And the max you can bet are either 3 coins or 2 coins. You really can't beat the $2.00 hot dogs. Great quality but too small for the bun. $2.00 Dos Equis or Heineken (on tap) or the $2.00 old Vegas style Shrimp Cocktails served the same as they were 30 years ago when they were $.99. So accounting for inflation... The $360.00 jackpot I hit on a $2.00 bet made it clear you can win at Slots-a-Fun alongside Circus Circus. You can park free in the main lot behind the Hotel and walk through the casino to get there. Thank you Slots-a-Fun. ...
Read moreThis is a no frills casino now and it's mostly empty. This is run by Circus Circus, so your players club will work here. A good selection of slots and the automated table games that are more popular now. At least 15 machines for video poker (with 8/5 payout on Jacks or Better, one the better ones in most of the Strip) which is what I usually play anyway.
If you want to gamble in relative quiet and don't require drink service or, well, anything really, this place is fine. There aren't many video poker machines in Circus Circus, so if that's your game, you'll have to come here. There's no flash here and it's kind of tired inside, but it's a nice change from the bustle of the heart of the Strip really.
Update 3/11/24: Big changes are happening here. The mentioned Video Poker machines are all gone, there's a bar and some table games in here. Appears that the "no frills" concept is being taken up a notch here, in that you can play here in a much quieter and more intimate atmosphere than the main...
