Do not stay here! Never felt welcome here. Front desk and housekeeping roll their eyes and give you trouble for reasonable requests like new bedding every few days or fresh towels. The owner came to me one morning as we were getting ready for the beach and he interrogated me about what room I was in and where my car was then he proceeded to threaten to tow my car. The placard the motel gave me was plain as day right in the dash of my car as instructed. I had to drop everything I was doing to show him or he was going to tow. Near the end of our trip I needed my bed clothes to be changed one more time. I was here 18 days, anyhow. Hotel staff; Denise (who was playing on her cell phone at the moment) not only made me get all my old bed clothes and towels and take them to her, we had to make my our own beds. I am disabled and I don't have full use of my right side and with my Cerebral palsy it is hard to make beds and to push a cart with distorted wheels full of all my dirty laundry. Paying to stay here I didn't expect to have to do all of this. I asked Denise while she was still on her cell phone if she could at least help pull the cart with all of the dirty laundry. Denise looked and started mocking and laughing at me having trouble bringing her all the clothing. Then when I finally got the clothes to her, she charges me $11.50 on my credit card for an old stain on the sheet that was already there. I put a chargeback on my card for this. Also, the other housekeeping woman stole petty things out of my luggage. (Paper plates, and a roll of paper towels.) You can't make this stuff up. Read moreI wanted to give anyone who stays at the Horizon by the Sea a little warning. I had stayed at this hotel in April and upon my departure received a $90 charge to my credit card. I had immediately called to see what this charge was, and was told by the girl who answered the phone that it could possibly be a charge for beach towels but I would have to call back on Monday when someone else was there to confirm. I had called since that date until today when someone finally answered the phone. I explained to them that their cleaning lady had taken my towels and never brought me back new beach towels. They continuously told me that there was nothing they could do about that. I then explained again that YOUR cleaning lady took the beach towels and never returned them. How is that MY fault. She continuously kept telling me that there is nothing they could do about it. I disputed the charge with my bank as well and Horizon disputed it back and I’m stuck with this $90 charge for beach towels that I never took. It is unbelievable that THEIR cleaning lady never brought new ones back and I’m at fault for this. I never even used the beach towels because I rent through Seaside set up who provides a canopy, chairs and beach towels daily. I never had a need for the beach towels at Horizon by the sea. Just a heads up to anyone staying with them, watch those beach towels!!! Terrible customer service! Its a shame because I visit LBTS multiple times a year and had it not been for this issue, I would have...
Read moreI stayed in room 124. The room was nothing fancy but was pretty clean, and had a microwave and fridge. My biggest complaint was that the room was HOT! When I walked into the room the fridge and air conditioner were unplugged. I understand that they are trying to save on the energy bill but with this Florida heat if you know you are having guests the air needs to be turned on before we get in the room. Me and my mother get into the room around 11pm (we let staff know that we will be getting to the room late that evening). We turn on the air conditioner and it doesn't help at all. Right next to the AC is a big closet that doesnt have any doors so all of the air is going into the closet and doesnt reach out to the room with the beds. My mom decides to lay on the bed nearest the AC with her head at the foot of the bed to hopefully catch a little bit of the air and me from NY not used to this type of Florida heat couldn't breath so I decided to gather up the pillows and blankets and sleep on the floor in the closet. The room eventually got better around 5 hours later. If you are able to get into the room earlier in the days to drop ur bags and turn the air on while you go out for dinner or the beach while the room cools down then it wouldn't be so bad. But the room never gets completely cold it's just tolerable and opening the windows doesn't help. It's in a Great location, is clean, and has the necessities but I had to give it 2 stars for such a...
