Read moreLBTS is a very charming, small town north of Ft. Lauderdale. The Sea Spray is on the southern end of town. It is very close to town square, walking distance. There is a Walgreens, liquor store and Publix very close. It is located across from beach access, the street is seldom busy and easy to cross. We stayed in a one bedroom, pool side. They own a motel and two small renovated buildings next door. Be sure to understand what you are renting. The room was spacious, there was a living area, separate bathroom, kitchen nook and bedroom with a door. It had plenty of storage. You really only get a very small view of the ocean from the rooms on top floor. Not a big deal at all, just a footnote. The rooms poolside are very close to the pool, with plenty of shaded tables and sun loungers. The southern side of town is a bit more quiet. |The pros: great price, rooms with full kitchen, rooms steps from a small pool, very friendly management, nice sized shower, use of beach chairs/umbrella, close to town, use of neighboring pool in shade, one site parking. They are great about exchanging towels. Room was clean and in good repair, the pictures online are very accurate. |The Cons: the air conditioner was loud at night and the room seemed damp. To be fair, it was a rainy week in south Florida. The mattress was pillow top felt small. I believe it was a Queen. For an adult and teen it was a bit tight. The toilet was awkwardly placed very close to the shower door. |All in all, I would recommend The Sea...
Read moreI attempted to stay here with my parents but unfortunately the staff was not available when we tried to check in. We called repeatedly but no one picked up the phone. So we resorted to sending an email. Can you imagine trying to check in when you are on vacation and not having anyone at the office? When a staff person finally showed up instead of apologizing he said he was busy walking around the property. I asked why they did not have a call forwarding service and he said they did, but that his mom was on a flight, therefore she was not able to answer the phone. I'm not sure if he was lying or just making really terrible excuses.
Of course we were understandably annoyed and tired from waiting around in the heat for hours. I thought they would upgrade our room or give us a discount - something, anything to make up for the inconvenience. Unfortunately the staff member said that he didn't appreciate our complaints and was going to give us a refund instead! Essentially saying, we don't want a bad review so we're just not going to let you stay here! In my 35 years of living in several different states and traveling around the world - I have honestly never been treated so poorly and disrespectfully from a customer service standpoint. I was shocked and truly sad that after hours of waiting, we were then told we had to find lodging elsewhere!
Be wary. ...
