Walgreens — Local services in Lauderdale-by-the-Sea

Never cashed a WU check before. It says they have cashing limits on their google maps listing implying they do. Just in case I called and asked the person who answered the phone, just to double check and save time. Her accent was thick but she seemed to answer me very clearly, YES they do cash them.

I get there, and the representative had a very nasty eye-rolling look on her face, not sure why as nobody was around and I literally just walked in with my wife. I asked her to cash the check, and wouldn't you know, same accent and in person very evident she doesn't understand English ... this is Lauderdale By The Sea, not Miami.

She makes it clear that she's annoyed and asks a gentleman to come help with it. He seems well dressed, maybe a supervisor or manager. He tells me they don't do it. I'm annoyed now. I let him know, "she very clearly told me I could when I called ahead to double check." You think a "sorry for the inconvenience" would do? Nope, just repeated that they don't do it. You think they'd have a customer service rep who understands english answering the phone, but they don't do that either.

I'll go out of my way to skip this Walgreens from now on. Not because of the inconvenience of driving there, but because of her rude attitude and his clear lack of care that a customer was...

I saw a lot of decorative cosmetics at a discount, less than one dollar. But at the checkout the girl scanned without a discount. When I tried to explain that this was the wrong price, she looked at me as if I was saying something stupid and it was unclear what I wanted from her. I went and took a picture of the row with price tags. She said "Sorry for the inconvenience" and changed the price in the system? No! She just went and peeled off the price tags! And said that this is the wrong price for other colors. Just at home, I checked what was written in the small print and saw that these exact colors that I wanted to buy were listed at a discount. Maybe she didn't want to bother with it, maybe there was a glitch in the system. But in any case, this is not the buyer’s fault and the price is usually changed at the checkout. This is one of the BEST Walgreens locations in the country! The store is clean, well-stocked, and staffed with friendly people. The pharmacy is exceptional. George is a stellar pharmacist. He has been ours for 5 years now, and we appreciate his accessibility, knowledge, and willingness to help. I never feel rushed when I seek help from George, even though I know he is always very busy. Paul has made our experiences at this Walgreens location the best of anywhere! He goes out of his way to call us if there are any exceptions or issues with our orders.
