Costa del Sol is a hidden gem of a resort. First off, it's in Lauderdale by the Sea, which feels way more relaxed and less busy than Fort Lauderdale while still also being walking distance from several really good restaurants. On top of the that, the location in Lauderdale by the Sea cannot be beat. It is right next to the water with a pool and hot tub. I believe every room has an ocean view. The room my family was in was updated with a king bed in one room and then a pull out couch in the living room. They also provided a rollaway bed for one of my kids. The rollaway bed looked like it was 100 years old but my daughter never complained about it. There is a full kitchen and fridge as well if you want to buy groceries to make your own food, and there is also a very nice grill space next to the pool if you want to grill out. There was never any struggle getting a lounge chair and the ocean was awesome. The resort team is helpful and kind and I greatly enjoyed connecting with several of the guests who were there. Most of them are owners so there is a level of appreciation and love for the resort that made our stay feel better than staying at a huge resort. I would not hesitate spending another week at this resort, in fact, it would be my first choice if I ever went back to the Fort...
Read moreWhat a nice relaxing resort on the beach! Rooms were updated and nicely decorated. The bed and the couch weren't the most comfortable but we survived. Staff was very friendly except the man that checked us in. The other man, Rob or Ron (can't remember his name but he wore a visor) was very helpful and friendly. Restaurants are within walking distance along with a mix of shops. No one there pushing timeshare which was a plus. They have a large grill in the pool area that several people used. Hot tub was a plus. There was construction going on to upgrade the building but never was a problem. They provide chairs and umbrellas to take on the beach. We definitely will go back! My only recommendations are to put slip guards in the tub and there's a room by the pool that has coffee all day but my recommendation is possibly supply fruits and snacks to purchase during the day. Short stroll to the pier if you are interested in fishing. We saw manatee swim by while we were on the beach besides...
Read moreGreat views from 2nd and 3rd floor rooms. Easy access to a very nice pool/patio, which is right on the beach. The pool/patio has plenty of room for sunning but also has a small, shaded, beach view canopy area with tables and chairs. This area is adjacent to an air-conditioned sitting room with restrooms available inside. You will find the beach entrance and fresh water rinse is right in front of you. There is no walk to the beach. If you are at the pool, you are at the beach. Complimentary beach chairs and umbrellas are available. What a pleasant surprise. The beach is wide, clean, and happens to be free of dune grass in front of Costa Del Sol. There is plenty of room to have your own space. Finally, the village and pier is only about 2 blocks away. This stretch of beach does not allow buildings taller than 4 stories making it quaint. In the village you will find plenty of interesting restaurants and shops. We count ourselves lucky to have stumbled...
