Shore Haven Resort Inn — Hotel in Lauderdale-by-the-Sea

Wish it could be zero stars Whatever you do, do not ever ever ever ever EVER stay at Shorehaven Inn in Lauderdale by the Sea!!! They are terrible, rude people. We stayed there back in July. You should not be able to stay in business treating people like this. It's not right. So the room and outside was full of ants. I mean FULL of ants. You couldnt put something down on a counter for two seconds without ants all over it. The door didnt lock right. No deadbolt and no latch. Just the key that they have a copy of and who knows who else. And the AC didn't work right. ...When we politely asked if we could change rooms or if something could be done we were told, "You don't like? You take your money, you leave now! " They said they had no other rooms, which we found out later was a blatant lie. Meanwhile this was a room we got for my bf's b day, and ft laud staycation, I was like huh? I was literally mind blown at the way we were treated and talked to and wasnt sure what to do at first, then while at dinner I googled, went on hotels. com and called around and thankfully found another place and switched hotels that night. (It was a Friday night as well so we were worried. .) He was actually trying to sell people a room when we walked back in. It was a family of 3-4 and they told them you can't have more than two people per room, you MUST get two rooms! So I told them oh, since he told us the hotel is full and we can't switch rooms and there are no more rooms you can have ours. The look on his face was priceless. The thought of actually sleeping there after he kept telling us, "You don't like you leave!" was too creepy...He made us get everything out of the room before issuing a refund. I never ran up and down stairs so fast in my life. All while with a busted back. We got a refund and tried to tell him how bad his customer service was on the way out and he said, I give you refund. You leave. What more you want? ? Weirdest rudest situation ever. Never been treated like that in a hotel, motel, whatever. Never. They are a Russian family that owns it. They must be a front or money laundering because I don't know how it's possible to make money running a business by treating people like that and care so little about making a customer happy and keeping them there and coming back. He literally could give two craps about whether we stayed or went and didn't care about our money. Very mindblowing and weird. Definitely something shady going on there. I hope this stops at least one person from staying there. I wouldnt want to see anyone go through that. . There are better options. Trust me. Just don't do it! !..It was a rocky start to our staycation but it ended up being awesome and the place we went was great. Ft laud beach resort just a little bit south of there. ..Same price and very very nice and friendly and super cool to my bf on his b day. And no ants. Lol... Hope this is useful...

The shore haven resort inn is a disgrace of a hotel that we found after being denied a room at the nearby holiday inn. Having no other choice, we decided to stay there for the night, it would end up being one of the worst decisions of my life. The inn had 3 giant signs that were conveniently blocking 3 of the only parking spots left. After meeting the 400lb clerk and checking in, we walked past the dirt and leaf filled pool which was surrounded by a friendly beer can shrewd pool deck to our hotel room. Along the way we saw a happy gentleman smoking loads cigarettes and drinking a handle of captain by himself. Finally when we reached our room we observed a drunk middle aged woman sprawled on the ground. We asked her if she was alright and she said that she had been locked out of her room and was waiting to be let in. After that encounter, we opened the door to our suite and immediately noticed a faint bizarre odor coming out of the vents. The beds were hard as cock and the other furniture had stains and the sheets and pillows had holes and were discolored. The mini fridge didn't have any drinks or snacks, which was probably a good thing considering the piss poor condition of the room. The only channel the tv got was some latino telemundo soap opera and the remote was coated in a sticky substance that sent me running to the sink where I washed my hands for an hour. One of my friends went to take a shower only to find out that he couldn't turn it on, which forced him to settle for a bath in the moldy tub. The shower did work for me though because I was patient enough to waste 15 min trying to turn it on. I left this place thinking I'd be lucky if I hadn't contracted a disease. For real though, its a decent last choice hotel to spend the night at if you are just here for the beaches, bars, and babe's. But if you plan on a multiple night stay, bring sleeping bags, gallons of germex, air fresheners, and a blacklight to look for the many invisible but everlasting stains. Or do the obvious and never come to this God forsaken place they call a "resort". This inn was so disgusting that Gordon Ramsey won't ever think of having it on his show hotel hell. But still this place came in clutch for us so I gotta give it...

Racist and sexist owners…

So to start this place is in an amazing location. Recently stayed here with my partner and her mother for a week getaway. The property is nice the two pools and the hot tub or very nice and the proximity to the local restaurants and the beach are great as well. Unfortunately that’s where the good stuff ends. The rooms were very outdated and very dirty more attention needs to be payed to cleaning. All that’s fine but the real issue is this…. Two nights into our trip we began spotting a lot of cockroaches in our room. I very politely talked to one of the owners, not to complain but to just make him aware of them if he wasn’t already. He apologized and offered to move us to another room if needed. Later that evening around 8pm my partner was scared as there were 3 more that fell out of a bathing suit in the shower and at that point i requested that we change rooms. This is where things took a bad turn. After going to the office to swap the keys for another room the owners (I presume a couple began screaming at yelling at me for being disrespectful and claiming that I was “trying to get a free vacation” not once had i mentioned any sort of discount or refund. Purely just requested a room change. They began yelling that I was unable to keep control of my women… and made multiple very sexist and racist comments about my partner and her mother. I had been nothing but polite and respectful but no matter what I said to try and defuse the situation they would not stop. Every time I left the office to go back to the room they would follow me out and begin the yelling and shouting. We stayed for the remainder of our trip but never received an apology or anything even close. It’s a shame because my partners mother has stayed at this spot on multiple occasions and had nothing but good things to say. If you are any ethnicity except Caucasian I would steer clear of this place. And if you are a female I would do the same. The racial and sexist comments really were a shock and not something anyone should have...
