This place!!! This restaurant is getting a 1 because I cannot give it anything lower.
I came here with my family for New Year's Eve. The wait time was actually doable.
Atmosphere: It was okay. I can understand the restaurant was busy--which should have been an indication to manager to maybe staff someone to maintain the restroom and other areas clean.
Food: The food was terrible. I ordered a Greek salad. I love Greek salads--tonight was terrible. The olives were can olives-- the romaine lettuce was cut so big that I cut them into smaller pieces myself but that didn't help. The cucumber pieces were huge. The bell peppers was cut like French fries and the red onions too. Imagine trying to eat a salad where the onions ended up being so big that it burned going down. The dressing was nice and flavorful.
My husband chicken was over cooked-- so crispy, that it was struggle to eat it with a STEAK knife that I had to ask for over 5 times. He said it was flavorful--so I guess that counts for something. My fries was salty. My daughter bolognese was okay. She didn't look too happy but she was hungry so she ate it.
Service: Un-attentive. She rushed us the whole time and definitely didn't look like she wanted to be there. Never again. Christine or Kristin was our server. I even thought it was because we were the only Black individuals there but she was the same way with all of her tables. It was not a race issue-- maybe it was. I don't know. That's how bad it was.
Staff: I asked the food runner for many items that my server failed to provide and he never returned. I won't return and would definitely not recommend.
Ways to improve: Prepare for nights like these. If you are going to be busy. Have extra staff available or on call to rotate-- because unpleasant servers ruin things for clients. She definitely made the dining experience worse.
Have someone to maintain the restrooms and check the prep stations--. My jaws should not get tired from eating a salad. That's how big the salad ingredients were cut. I am all for good food. I was extremely disappointed. I should have checked the ratings before spending my...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThe worst customer service, we were 3 people for dinner and we ordered 3 beers while looking at the menu, the service was slow and the music was very loud, we politely asked the waitress if they could lower the volume a bit so we could talk, because the music was overwhelming and we were talking so loud, we didn't enjoy the moment.
The waitress was never kind enough to turn the music down a bit and was slow to come back to the table.
Seeing the attitude of the waitress and the service that was very strange, we paid for the beers and left.
Unfortunately we forgot a cell phone, and we returned, I asked the waitress if she had seen a cell phone and with a very rude and unkind attitude she told me no, she never had the decency to ask at the office where the manager of the premises keeps the forgotten objects of the clients.
I went out and came back because I wasn't in my car, I talked to another waitress and she said she would ask the manager and sure enough she had the phone. I told the manager that his waitress was very rude and he did not want to help the customer and it was worse.
The manager plus the two waitresses were rude, none of them have customer service education, we suffered discrimination because we were Spanish tourists.
If the manager is a rude and inexperienced person, then you can't ask for much from the waitresses. All I wanted was my phone, and you can't take things personally.
We left not because the food was bad, because it was the third time we ate there, since my friends were staying in a nearby hotel, we left because of the bad service and loud music, that does not give them the right to treat customers bad for making the decision to look for a place where we...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWe drove up from FTL this afternoon to grab a late lunch and thought we'd give 101 Ocean a try. The eatery was not particularly busy, so we thought it would be a breeze.
The hostess seemed absolutely frazzled, but everyone can get that way some days at work so we decided to be patient and let her do her job. The outside table we wanted had some refuse on it from previous customers, so we pointed the table out and asked if we could sit there until it could be bussed. The hostess said no, we had to wait. There were a number of times thereafter that the hostess left the station looking frantically around the inside of the restaurant, but she apparently didn't see what she was looking for. At some point a gentleman (manager?) approached the hostess and she shared that the table needed bussed. He made an unpleasant facial expression, so I offered to collect the items - he made another unpleasant expression and said he's doing the best he can with three servers and one bus.
To wrap this up, the frazzlement was contagious so we decided to exit when the server was approaching our table with waters, although she seemed to be a bright spot in the gloom. We did end up having an excellent lunch across the street at Village Grille.
it's apparent that service at many restaurants is variable due to staffing issues, but we try to be patient and understanding to a point. It's management's responsibility to lead the staff, not be a downer. I'm hoping that the hostess gets additional training and the manager was just having a one-off experience. This review is not meant to warn people away so much as to give management/owners a heads up that they need to make some changes to their...
