Let me first say this is the kind of restaurant my dad would really like. He goes to several local restaurants where we live in Indiana, and the wait staff know all the regulars by name. This is that place. My wife called it “charming.” It’s a long narrow restaurant with a counter on one side and booths that seat 4 people on the opposite wall. Our server called several customers by name, and I knew this was a place the locals must enjoy. We decided to share two dishes: a three-egg omelette and French toast. Both dishes came out on large plates. The serving size was massive. And neither disappointed. As a side note, I’m not a huge fan of home fries, but they came with the omelette. This place has changed my mind. Large cut potatoes seasoned and grilled perfectly. Yum! Too bad I was too stuffed to finish them all! Apparently, the place just changed ownership. We were listening to the conversations between the new owner and the staff, and I think the new owner will do just fine. One concern he had was the variety of coffee cups they had, a disjointed and unmatched assortment. He thought it’d be nice to get the cups most of the regulars liked. But our server noted that one particular lady liked a certain mug, which he agreed they should keep. Who can argue with customer service like that?

Went here for the first time today with a Groupon to try somewhere new and we were not disappointed! Took away 1 star (which is really only half a star) only because hubby didn't get enough potatoes (although I'm sure we could have asked for more) and my hash browns tasted like bacon and were too greasy for my liking (although some people might really like this). More like a 4.5 star rating here. Omelettes were "egg-cellent" and there was more than enough food otherwise. We added a pancake to our order to split and that was great too. It was so much food I ended up taking home my toast and half my omelette. 👍🏻 Atmosphere: A little dive/hole in the wall but clean bathroom. There were maybe 5 booths, 2 tables outside, and 10 counter spots. Great small beach town diner atmosphere where the staff is super friendly but short with you only because they're busy (not in a rude way - just efficient). Music is good too 🙂 and if you sit at the counter you have a front row seat to the "kitchen" (griddle/sandwich counter) which was entertaining. Everyone was greeting Mike/Michael, the cook as they walked in or left. We'd definitely come back as long as we didn't mind the 20+ minute drive and paying for parking!

OMG I don't know where to start..... The customer service is AWESOME....the owner greeted us as we were walking by and tried to offer us a place to sit down and eat. Unfortunately, I had made reservations at the horrible place around the corner. After I left the horrible place (still hungry bc I sent the food back) I stoppped by DINER BY THE SEAS. I told them about my experience and were nice and welcoming so we didnt get more traumatized. I ordered the croissant sandwich....OMG that was a lot of food! When I say they cooked it to perfection that's what I mean.....and it was not a long wait at all. My children were like that's what food is supposed to look like. I recommend this place and I regret that I didn't go in when I was first approached. I will definitely be back.....tomorrow!

My husband and I had our first visit to your establishment on Friday, January 17th, 2025 at approximately 8:15 AM.

We entered the restaurant and sat at the counter. There was one other gentleman at the counter and another individual ordering take-out.

We were greeted by Cheryl who was an absolute gem. She got us coffees and water. I would have had no reason not to think she she was my waitress and would be taking my food order.

Over time, the restaurant was filling up so, so prevent a wait, I caught Cheryl’s eye and said that I was ready to order. Another woman, northern accent, somewhat stout, brown hair pulled back if I recall, had her back to me, writing something and answered curtly, “I’ll be right with you” without turning around. I apologized for assuming Cheryl would be taking my order.

The woman who had her back to me left from behind the counter and went over to a table of four who had come in after me. I thought to myself that perhaps the waitress didn’t realize I was before this group. After taking four orders she returned to behind the counter and proceeded to continue her paperwork and then butter some rolls. She busied herself for the next few minutes, clearly ignoring me. It was obvious to me she was purposefully doing whatever else she could besides asking for my order.

Finally, she turned to me. I asked very quietly why she had been ignoring me. She snapped, “I was at Publix”. I asked what did that have to do with me? I told her I was before the party of four and had been waiting for an uncomfortable amount of time for someone to take my order.

She snapped again, “I’m not going to stand here while you talk rudely to me” and again, turned her back to me. Cheryl witnessed this entire exchanged and it was totally unwarranted. By now, it was about 8:30 AM.

My husband, who had left to get cash, would have been very inconvenienced if I had stood up and left the restaurant as I wanted to do. So I stayed.

She took my order and poor Cheryl took it upon herself to be overly considerate to us to make up for how uncomfortable the situation was. She is the very best thing about your restaurant; what an incredible asset.

I am not in the habit of writing poor reviews online. I do want to say that this woman was very, very rude, not at all welcoming and treated me very poorly. She was an extremely negative representation of your establishment; this situation bothered me enough to write about it all these days later.

*This review was originally sent directly to the establishment and I asked for an acknowledgement and received none. I tried to email but the email listed is not functioning. Only as a last resort did I submit this...

Diner Dining has a Charm about it that you can only find in the midst of sitting in a Yellow Bar Stool attached to the ground at the BarTop while being served Black Coffee and Listening to the Old Timers!

When walking into this endearing little Breakfast and Lunch Diner you will be faced with a decision to either sit at the BarTop or at a Booth. The best seats in the house are at the BarTop as we have sat at both spots! Here is where you really get the Diner feel of watching Billy (The Owner) on the Griddle cooking up delicious Home Cooked food, or smelling the Coffee with each passing of the Old School Coffee Pot, or watching the Toast Pop Up & Down getting smeared with Butter then sliced, and best of all sitting in those Retro Yellow Bar Stools that let alone gives you that Diner Warmth!

The Menu is quite simple with all of the Classic Breakfast and Lunch staples both being served All Day! We've had both Breakfast and Lunch dishes on our two separate visits and have enjoyed both! The Corned Beef Reuben is highly satisfying along with their Huge Custom Omelettes! Also, get the Home Fries if you like delicious Breakfast Potatoes (TIP-Order them Extra Crispy!)

FREE Mimosas Every Saturday & Sunday! All you've gotta do is EAT!

The Lovely Staff working here has been the same during our visits which it is always nice to see when going back to an establishment! The Waitresses are Welcoming and Attentive! True to the Diner concept their pricing is very reasonable and their portions are large! They are CASH ONLY!!!!!!!!!

Tip- Check...

Well if I can give this a 10 star rating I would. A hidden gem that unless you are looking for it, if you blink you would miss it.

This is an all female run family owned local business that actually knows the phase the customer is always right.

We were greeted by the owner whose grandfather owned it and she carries the torch. The workers are so pleasant and cheerful. It reminds me of Ozone Park Quuens NY where these type of small cafe/diners exist and i am used to.

I remember having egg sandwiches at Fruges Bakery in Ozone Park and hae never been able to find a perfect egg sandwich since. Well today I did and I cannot wait to come back.

We found this place on Groupon which was a great way to advertise and how we found it. The prices we perfect given you are 1 block to the beach. The only draw back is you have to pay to park and there is plenty of parking. BUT it is worth it.

The atmosphere was a throw back to the 50's style diners. The oldest employee is 82 and she moves better than me. All the women run it like a well-oiled machine.

They all make you feel important and welcomed and they all constantly ask you if you are ok.

To say I was impressed is putting it mildly.

This is a must go to place not for anything else but to witness how a real old-fashioned diner should run and how people should be treated.

Best croissants i have ever had. They take pride in their work, food presentation, and the quality.

I cannot say enough that this is a...
