Just stopped by to hear the live music on Fri 5/23/25. They always seem to have good bands playing when we're in town and the bar staff are always excellent. We love coming here when we're in the area for the food and music. 9/2024 Finally did breakfast here. WOW, huge portions and a really good breakfast. Well priced for the portions served. -------- 6/21/2024 Consistent, Good food. Menu varies somewhat with the seasons. This is one of our go to spots when we are in the area. We've eaten in the dining room and the back bar area both over the last 4 years. Usually good service. IDK, this more a 50/50% Tourists to locals ratio. Don't see where people are getting the "local's" spot idea from? Usually good bands later on at night. We've closed the music / back bar area down once or twice!!! I did the calamari, California roll and a Cuban for my entrée. All were real good. Calamari could have been hotter, it was getting cold and limp when I got it. Still tasty though. Fresh well made sushi, and the Cuban was quite tasty! ---------- 2023 review We stopped in to listen to the live music and stayed for some food... Great place, good ambiance... and the food was really good also. I had the lobster Mac N Cheese, and the Mussels. The wife had the quinoa salad and the sandwich special. Both were excellent and a lot of food...

Was extremely disappointed. when I broke open my fish to eat it, a odor took my breath away. I stopped for a moment, looked around and thought to myself. What in the world was that never did. I think it could be my food the piece of fish that I broke open had a terrible odor up close of bleach yes bleach I was there with my son and my wife. They looked at me and was wondering what happened I had both of them smell it and they couldn’t believe it either the other piece of fish did not have this odor when you broke it open only one of the two not only was I so surprised, but so disappointed in such a beautiful restaurant to fail their customers. I asked my waiter to come over. I told him what happened and he said that they are cleaning the kitchen. It is late and he does apologize. I thought to myself that’s no excuse, but I didn’t say anything because I don’t believe it was his fault. The manager came over got my plate, smelt it, and says he doesn’t smell anything at that point. I was very upset because everyone else smells it but the manager so with this being said please please be careful going to this place. I paid my bill. I tipped my waiter. I left with no hard feelings. But left a little wiser to be more careful.

I feel mixed about this, my kids liked their food, so I'd say we can recommend the burgers and my son liked his chicken Alfredo. But this restaurant is in Lauderdale by the SEA (near the SEA CREATURES!) I ordered the SEAfood special, which came with mahi, scallops, shrimp and crab cakes. It's like I was at a gas station in Wisconsin. The mahi was about the size of a pack of playing cards, half as thick, and had the consistency of a pair of Doc Martens (the sole). The two microscopic scallops were the size of a nickel and probably cooked 8-10 minutes. Do you know how fast scallops cook? The cooks at the Village don't, they thought they were making a well done steak. The crab cakes tasted like a paste made from LBTS construction sawdust. The two shrimp weren't bad, so they had that going for them. I only tried one though, then asked our waiter to bring me the chicken Alfredo. Hard to mess that up. My comment about the gas station in Wisconsin might have been a bit harsh, but this food was nowhere near Wawa quality. Our waiter was great, he still got 20%, but the cooks deserve to chip in a bit for making him bring that plate out to a customer. It sounds like the breakfast is good, maybe stick to that.

My family and I had a terrible experience we just left the place a few minutes ago. The food took so long and when I approached someone upfront to follow up on the order the young lady with blonde hair responded “SO WHAT DO YOU WANT ME TO DO?” Which I replied “I just said, follow up on our order that was the first thing I said, hi excuse me I would like to follow up on our order, we’re seated at the 2nd to the last table.” “Who was your server? (our server never introduced herself or said good morning just straight up are you ready to order, so we wouldn’t really know. Additionally, they didn’t have name tags) after morethan an hour our food finally came and it came out wrong. It took a couple minutes until we could get someone’s attention.

Our server was rude about it. Few minutes later, the server came back and started pointing fingers at others instead of apologizing for the wait, wrong order or simply asking if there’s anything else we need or is there anything I can do to give you a better experience? We all tried to be patient about the whole situation and wanted to still enjoy our morning.

We didn’t see our server for a while so we approached a male server he gave a sarcastic response and again, asked us who our server was and we said we don’t know her name she didn’t introduce herself but she had short hair etc. We finally had our server, I paid using my cc and of course we opt the no tip option for the unpleasant service, I tilted the card reader towards the left. To my surprise, the waitress named Mariana L., came back and pointed at the receipt comfronting me in a loud voice enough for everyone else to hear “YOU DIDN’T TIP ME!!??? You’re supposed to tip me $10 (pointing at the receipt)

I have travelled and dined in different parts of the world and also have a food service background and have never had a waitress question or confront me with such a tone. I’m dumbfounded that after the experience she still expected something. Tips are not required but always appreciated but it’s so wrong to say “you’re supposed to tip me” to add, Mariana rolled her eyes at me and didn’t say thank you after I gave her cash even though she proved again that she didn’t deserve it.

I know that some customers are difficult or refuse to give a tip despite having an excellent server but in this situation, that clearly wasn’t the case. I always side with people working in the customer service industry but truly NOT THIS TIME. I am the type of person who never fails to tip, I even give max the tip and leave a positive review. It was our first time to go for breakfast in lauderdale by the sea and brought family who are visiting from a different country. It was embarrassing to welcome them in the US with that kind of experience. I’m not sure if it was time of day or just the sunday morning shift. Majority were so unprofessional and unpleasant. It was...

Visited on 6/12/2015 Worst manager on duty - Nick. If you're Jewish, keep in mind that you might have to endure a purely antisemitic comment from Nick, if you dare to ask that the restaurant doors be closed because it was 90 degrees inside. Oh, and whatever you do, do not mention Facebook because that brings out a really bad side of Nick (the so called manager on duty).

I have enjoyed this restaurant for many, many years and always make sure that anyone who visits from up North, gets to experience it. Both of my sons and I enjoy eating there and I crave their hamburgers at least once a month.

After last night, I'm afraid this favorite of mine will not be visited. Better to go to 101 Ocean (much nicer, customer friendly atmosphere).

The serving staff was fantastic at the Village Grille & Pump, considering that they were sweltering because Nick would not let them close the front door (as it had been when my friend and I walked in). It became overbearingly hot. Five members of their staff came over to apologize to us for Nick's behavior and refusal to close the door against the late day heat here in South Florida. They were all fanning themselves.

Whoever is monitoring their social media should be fired.

It's really a shame that a company like The Village Grille & Pump House doesn't have someone decent monitoring their social media (or managing their restaurant). My post was removed. In today's day and age, it is hugely important that a company have someone customer service savvy enough doing the monitoring. Bad move on your part, Village Grille. You condone his comment to me about being from Boca? Your silence is speaking volumes.

Stay away, especially if you live in South Florida year round, they apparently don't care about the local customers who sustain them when...

This place has good drinks and alright food but watch out , they have some pretty sketchy employees . Recently I told my boyfriend and brothers to go there because there patriots fans and the place looked cool. The young blonde girl (who works on sundays and is suppose to be a manager we were told) originally gave my boyfriend a check that was a reasonable price that he signed and gave her an awesome tip , while my brothers paid theres separately in cash ! Later that week my boyfriend checked his bank statement , it turns out when they left she charged the ENTIRE bill to his card and kept all the cash from my brothers for herself, were not normally ones to complain but it was alot of money and we have a kid on the way. Now I was a waitress for 6 years , they claim the machines are messed up and this has happened to multiple people but if you were a waitress like me you know that doesn't just happen. Hes tried to get his money back and even waited a month for it to come back on his card when it didnt go through like the previous manager promised we talked to another manager Peter who was super awesome and claimed he would help us out and to come in and make sure wed get our money back. We've gone back twice and everytime we go there we get a different Male manager who is rude and basically claims theres nothing he can do and that the machine "does this alot to people". If that is the case then does everyone else not get there money back like us ? If anyone decides to go here just make sure you go with cash DO NOT USE YOUR CARD especially if your drinking and you get the young blonde waitress! Some of those managers/employees clearly dont care about...
