When we arrived I was happy with the area. Playground across the street, and very close to stores, restaurants, the beach and the pier! I was a little surprised with the outside of the building, honestly I was expecting an old apartment and was super nervous bringing my kids in there. The owner is so sweet and kind. She knew exactly who I was when I went into the office the day of check in. When we entered our room I was so surprised the apartment was so clean and much newer then the outside of the building. Very nice space. We stayed 6 nights and after a couple days of my kids losing their toys behind the couch and under the beds and dressers I noticed that the place wasn't being cleaned completely. The beds were very dusty under them and there was even a dirty face cloth behind one bed on the floor. Lost of little dirt and dust under dressers as well. The shower water was yellow and did no drain well. The toilet also has an issue flushing, so flush everytime you use the bathroom even if there is a tiny bit of paper in there. My other issue was I saw 2 tiny roaches after the 2nd day, then our last night we saw an enormous one! We do not have cockroaches this big in Massachusetts so this was new to me and pretty scary. I had to leave at 9am and when I went to check out the office was close which was unfortunate because I did want a receipt and I wanted to address my concerns about the cleaning and the bugs with the owner but I had a lot of luggage, 3 young children a rental to return, 2 buses to take to the airport and a plane to catch. I would stay again because the apartment was nice and the area was nice and quiet.

Pros: The place is nicely located near the beach (across 2 streets), very close to downtown with a lot of restaurants, souvenir shops, close to the Publix market. The owner, Margaret, was very helpful with any info we needed. The suite had anything we needed to have a pleasant stay. There are 2 BBQ in the garden area, pool but we didn't not use them. The wifi worked very well. Cons: We had to keep almost all the time the draps closed to have privacy since we were on the first level, near the street, cars parked in front of the window, the bed was not comfortable, was moving at every move we made, the toilet seat was stained, it was too old I think (we were thinking to buy our seat but we didn't one find nearby). I think an investment in a new toilet seat and new bed would be a plus. Overall we had a nice stay but we would not come again in the same suite mainly because of the lack of privacy.

We stayed at the Breakaway Inn for three weeks in May 2024 and we had a fabulous time. So for anyone considering this place you can’t go wrong. |It is located 30 min for Hollywood airport ($60 by taxi or $30 by Uber), 3 min walk to the beach, 5 min walk to the grocery store and 3 min walk to the main road where the restaurants and pubs are. Around town the bus system works pretty well and you can download the MOVEIT App to see the schedule. |We booked the one-bedroom apartment and it was perfect. The beds are comfy, lots of storage and a huge walk-in closet with safe. Bathroom is good. There is a big sitting area with TV (lots of channels) and a full kitchen with table and chairs. The kitchen has everything you need (pots, pans, dishes, cutlery etc). The internet is fast and very reliable. The grounds are very beautiful and well maintained with lounge chairs and a patio sets. There are also two excellent gas BBQs under cover. The pool is wonderful to jump into after a walk about or just back from the beach. The Inn provides beach towels on arrival and can be exchanged as required. There are also an assortment of beach chairs and umbrellas available that previous guests (such as us) bought for their use and left behind. |This place is like going to a family gathering. We made some new friends, had social times together (drinks and dinner) which just added to a wonderful experience. One even drove us to the airport when it was time for us to leave. Thankyou Steven. |Lastly, the owners (Margaret and Andrew) were amazing. Friendly, always had time to chat and wanted to make sure everyone was having a good time. One night, Margaret invited the couples at the Inn to help her celebrate Andrews Birthday. She provided all the food while Andrew took care of drinks. He makes a wicked Hurricane. It was a great night.|Can’t wait to book our return vacation for next May and see our new...
