September 2025: This was our first stay at this location. The reception clerks (Friday afternoon, Saturday afternoon, and Sunday morning) were very nice and our room was clean enough but could probably use some updating soon. The breakfast and the servers and cleaning staff were the reason for two stars overall. The coffee was watered down and the milk for the coffee was in small packets, not good for someone who likes extra milk. The breakfast area was clean but on Saturday morning, they ran out of scrambled eggs at 9:30 am (breakfast closed at 10:00). When I asked about more because my husband and children just arrived, the server said no more eggs. Also, the breakfast selection was sparse, even though the draws were filled with items not placed on the counters. The "baked goods" like sliced bread, muffins, and English muffins, were stale and the same ones used the next day. Sunday morning, same breakfast situation, same stale breads, but I noticed the scrambled eggs were available until 10:00. And I also noticed the server taking several plates of food back to the reception desk and in the rooms behind it. Perhaps she should pay attention to the customers that pay her salary first? I was also disappointed to see one of the reception clerks (Saturday mid-morning to early afternoon) park his car in the "Diamond Member" parking spot closest to the entrance, and I saw many of the staff watching videos or listening to their loud music on their phones while they "worked" in the rooms and lobby area. It took away from the usual tranquility feeling of staying at a hotel where muzak is the soothing norm. Anyway, the place was nice, but not up to par for a Hilton. There are other hotel options currently being built in the area, so on our next family visit we will go...
Read moreWe used the Hampton Inn & Suites Berkshires-Lenox as the base for our visit to the Berkshires. As a former Diamond and now a Gold member of the Hilton Honors program, I have a certain amount of loyalty to the ever-expanding Hilton brands and have probably stayed in around 100 Hampton Inns over the years.||This one is a fairly mediocre example of these trusty motels. It's neither terrible nor great. The rooms are clean and the beds are comfortable and everything works. But the room decor and design is dated and seems to have been been designed and decorated by someone without much architectural or interior design training. Frankly, the room was sort of ugly and a little depressing. This property is one of the older Inn & Suites I've stayed in, though it is still in pretty good condition.||The staff was okay, not particularly good or bad. The breakfast ladies were nice, though.||However, the complimentary breakfast was somewhat below average for a Hampton, especially since the waffle makers were out of order and the selection of hot food (sausages, bacon, eggs, etc.) and other items was limited.||Also, the location of this Hampton was a little odd, up a short drive from the main road and not visible from the highway. ||Due to all this, I would definitely take a look at the Courtyard by Marriott that is a couple of miles away. The prices (around $200 including taxes) are about the same, and while I didn't actually go into the Courtyard property, it sure looked more appealing than this...
Read moreSo I stayed here for 4 days trying to kick the remnants of covid out of me. The beds are super comfortable and the A/C works great . The one downside is the fridge. Its a bit small. I had to keep restocking it. The one thing that really caught my eye though, in my 1st floor room the ceiling was 12ft. This is great because it makes the small room feel gargantuan. And this is a big reason why I stayed so long. I've stayed at all that the Hilton Chain has to offer (except for the really big resorts), and they all have their perks. But when it comes to size of room, one wouldn't think of Tru. No offense to the brand, they have their place as one night, maybe two night. But the rooms are very small. I've gotten closterphobic at a Home2 before. But I will say this Hampton Inn with 12 ft ceilings was nice to see.
The location was nicely set back 500-600ft from the road. Smallish parking lot. Definitely NOT one for people with trailers. Nice large grassy area for our four-legged family members. Only drawback is that it is in close proximity of a dog kennel, and there was a lot of barking noise outside.
I will stay here again and would...
