Before I begin my review, let me say that, we, like most customers read the lake Logan inn reviews. They are 5 stars, glowing reviews, with the exception of one. It only takes 1 bad apple to spoil the whole bunch. Mary the manager greeted us with her warm, friendly smile! We immediately felt welcome. She gave us great restaurant recommendations that were spot on! Our room was spotless! She even provides black makeup removing washcloths. Very smart!! The beds were very comfortable. Our room was cozy and pleasant. We spent most of our time out on our motorcycle seeing the beautiful leaves changing and taking in the fall scenery. The rest of our time was spent hiking at Hocking hills state park. It is fabulous! After a day of riding and or hiking we wanted a tasty meal that could be enjoyed within walking distance from our room. This may not seem like a big deal, but we actually do look at this when selecting our hotel. Mary greeted us at least once a day, as she is always working around the property or greeting new guests. She puts out a hearty spread for a continental breakfast on the weekend, which is included in the price. Let me be clear. If you are looking for a nice clean, comfortable place to lay your head for a restful sleep, this is just the place. If you want a resort like place to relax by the pool or hit up the gym or order room service, this is not the place for you. Our room was serviced every day. We have stayed at big chains recently and this was not the case. We intend to visit Hocking hills again and hope to find Mary still warmly...
Read moreThis will likely be the hardest review I may possibly write, as I can't just set aside my feelings and be impartial, allowing the stay and accommodations to speak for themselves. Listen, the place was built fifty years or so ago. While the structure may reflect that despite the best efforts of its current caretakers, the heart and soul of Lake Logan Inn is captured and embodied by the same. The current state of the world around us might seem uncertain and unsure. However, Mary and Richard Lake Logan Inn's current stewards give rest to the weary new meaning and new life. From the very moment I stepped through their door, I was greeted with kindness and... (dare I say, grandiosity?) I was the King of the spaciousely clean well manicured room I rented from them. And why not? Mary, a princess, lost to Malaysia, was the queen of her domain. Not ruled by an iron fist but by the love of a mother tending to her children. Not over bearing or controlling but sure in her capability to care for her flock. Richard, her king, sitting in the shadows doing his due diligence, knowing full well the rose he long ago captured. The Navy taught him his kingship well. He is a great man to whom I am grateful not only for his service to this country but also for his kindness as a new friend. I urge you one and all to come not only for the comfort of your body but also for the reset of your heart and soul. You can not pay more elsewhere and receive what you get here for less. All my love, Richard and Mary, thank you from the bottom...
Read moreLast minute trip to Hocking Hills. I called the Lake Logan Inn about 10:30pm to make a reservation. No answer so I proceded to begin to use a 3rd party booking site. My phone rang and it was Mary at Lake Logan Inn. She was returning my missed call. That is great customer service.
i have never met a motel owner who is more caring, conscientious and determined to make our stay the very best possible. Any question we had, she had the answer. They have owned the hotel since July 2021...so ignore any previous bad reviews before that date.. They have made a lot of improvements and have a number of very good ideas of how they want to further improve the hotel and grounds. The grounds show evidence of their care of the property with many new perennial plantings.
Room with one king bed was spotlessly clean. Everything worked perfectly in the room. Occasionaly hiccop with internet, but that happens with technology. Although there is not a breakfast option, there is a very nice diner close to the hotel. Price for the room is very very good for this area.
Would definitely stay again if we are...
