1st night there was a young boys B-day party, about 10 boys running about the hotel. Staff did ask the boys not to run. Boys unattended in fitness room and pool, 1 boy ended up w a bleeding knee in the pool area. Sounded like a heard of elephants or bowling alley in the stairwell directly next to our suite. Upon return Saturday, after our Hocking Hills Comfort Food Cruise, appears birthday party checked out, then a room had a barky dog, I am an animal lover, even had our dog (he is older hard of hearing, doesnt bark) so this wasn't an issue for us to hear dog, maybe for others, and the room directly above us sounded like demolition, or furniture falling over. Luckily by about 10 P things quite down Saturday night. Cheyenne at the front desk was very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was amazing and fresh. Elevator moves a bit slower than the average elevator. Plenty of parking, housekeeping very accommodating when asked for fresh towels and T.P. The suite was big and comfy, had a few kitchen items, plates/bowls/tall glass/juice glass, toaster, strainer, pitcher, etc. Close to the main roads and a variety of restaurants. Clean and welcoming. Just a little noisy, if your looking for peace and relaxation. Definitely kid Friendly.

Stayed here while on vacation visiting Hocking Hills State Park and was extremely pleased with our stay. The hotel is in a great location within 11 miles of the main attractions in the area. The staff seemed genuine and really friendly and manager was even doing her part to make sure we were being attended to and the staff was ready to serve us at all hours. The 2 queen bed with kitchenette room was extremely clean and well stocked. We were also thrilled with the quality of breakfast that was being served from 6am-10am. Most hotels nowadays really drop the ball on this part but not here, my family was well fed and this help keep our food cost on the trip lower than expected. Also coffee and fresh fruit were available 24hrs a day along with fresh cookies. I also requested a slight extension on my checkout and they were happy to oblige which i understand may not always be available but it was and it made our day. Will 100% be staying here next time we are in the area. Keep up the good work. stayed from 8/12/19-8/14/19

Spent 4 nights with my son for a mom/son hiking getaway..the hotel was clean, accomodating and in a great location.TBH...We are used to staying in fabulous VRBO's or AIRBNB's...but because of the pandemic repercussions we could only get a hotel..we reserved the suite equipped with a full refrigerator, microwave..etc.Kitchenette. Our accomodations were fantastic and the most important part of this review is...I spent a most amazing 5 days and 4 nights with my 18 yr old son, laughing and hiking and making everlasting memories.. after all..??? I could be living in a van down by the river..it wouldn't matter!! But I don't live in a van down by the river..so...Our stay was fab..and the MAGICAL beauty of the Hocking Hills.. was..(simply stated)..A most wonderful experience.

For the most part the staff was very friendly and helpful with the exception of one staff member. There was an issue regarding not having towels when my husband went to the desk and asked if we could have 2 towels and hand clothes she said they did not have any at thaat time he asked how long and she said a few hours. We waited a few hours and I went back down to the desk and asked if they were available and she said it will be a few more hours. She was not plesant to my husband or myself even though, she did respond with a smile which was fake. She went to the back room and the young lady she was training asked me my room number I told her 103 and she quietly said I will see you get towels. After another confrontation with the unfriendly desk clerk my husband told her that it was not acceptable that she could not produce some towels for us. she said something and he told her to just forget it. When he got back to our room and told me of the conversation I called your cooperate office and talked to one of your customer service reps We paid for our room for 2 nights expecting friendly and a well supplied room. She was very friendly and said she was sorry that we experienced this. The next morning I went down to the desk and talked to Dedria and asked if they had towels and told her of the issue we had the night before. She told me they were short staffed and had no one doing laundry and they were trying to get caught up that is why we could not get towels the day before. Had the first staff member my husband talked to had told him they were having an issue with the towels and explained the situation it probably would have went a lot better. My husband was upset about how she handled the situation and her interaction with him. Any way Dedria did give me towels so we could shower/ Spencer who checked us in on the 6th was outstanding he went well out of his way to make us feel welcomed and Dedria who gave me an explanation need to be mentioned for their outstanding...

The room we received was different from what we expected, although, to be fair, it was what we reserved. We thought we were getting a two-room suite rather than one large room with a kitchenette. The layout and furnishings of the room could have been better. There was only one "sitting chair" (which had such a long seat that I could not sit on it and touch both the floor and the back of the chair without putting two pillows behind me. One of the reasons we wanted the full suite was to have a sofa for seating. The lighting in the room needed to be improved. There is no light in the kitchen sink area, and limited lighting in the room overall. The bedside lamps were too low in height to be used as reading lights. There was no place to hang coats outside of the small closet area which had only two hangers. There seems to be adequate room for wall hooks near the door for this purpose. The desk chair was too low to be able to sit at the desk and write, even when adjusted to its highest position. The TV was fixed on the wall and not able to swivel, meaning that the only comfortable way to view TV was from the one sitting chair across from it. Finally, there was a leak in the window/HVAC system when we had heavy rains, and the front desk clerk admitted that this was a recurrent problem. I also think the sound insulation between rooms is inadequate. It was very easy to hear normal level conversation from the adjoining room. The location was good relative to our daily activities. The highlight of our visit was the friendliness of the staff, and their willingness to be helpful. Spencer was the name of the front desk clerk who was very accommodating. To be honest, I almost told him that he should look for a job somewhere else where his commitment to service was matched by management. I suspect that the management of this hotel (particularly on the corporate level) is more interested in cost-cutting than in quality....

I've been to a few hotels recently and they've been pretty disappointing, but MainStays is not one of them. The staff was so friendly and helpful and always greeted you and smiled and were even willing to have conversations about whatever. They were knowledgeable about the area and very helpful all around. I liked that they sent texts prior to my stay to confirm my reservation and to see if I had any specific requests. Rooms were very clean. Need some more lighting in the larger rooms, but still comfortable and spacious. Bathroom was immaculate and I love that lotion, conditioner, and shampoo were all provided in large bottles attached to the walls. My room had a small kitchen with a hot plate, allowing us to cook our own meals, but on Friday, they also provided a complimentary soup for dinner if we wanted it. Breakfasts were your typical hotel food, but there did seem to be actual care put into it and there were a few little changes each morning. Lots of options as well. Did not swim in the pool, but it is heated. Small, but would be good for the kids. Also, the hotel is a stone's throw away from several restaurants (most of which offered a 10% discount if you showed your room card). Walmart is also very close so you can stock your room fridge.

A great place to stay if you intend to visit Old Man's Cave and explore Hocking Hills. They will take good care of you and I highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for an affordable, comfortable...
