I'm so disappointed. My friends and I came to the Logan Even Stevens today to get breakfast and mimosas and we the worst restaurant experience I've ever had.
I was going to split food with my friend and we both wanted a mimosa and they told us that we each needed to order something to be able to get a drink. Which is totally understandable and we were fine with that and each did our own order. The girl ringing us up kept messing our order up and it took FOREVER. (The orders weren't even big or complicated. A beer and a sandwich for my husband, a mimosa and tater tots for me. A mimosa and a hummus plate for my friend.) We finally get the orders all figured out and paid for.
As soon as we sit down another girl comes over and tells us in an acusatory tone that she needs to see our ID's again. So we all pull them out again, she scans them and they check out, and they finally bring us our drinks and food. They accidentally brought an extra drink. A few minutes later the girl comes back and starts demanding that we buy another menu item because everybody who's drinking has to order food. We told her that everyone had ordered their own individual food items. She insisted that we didn't so we went through and told her what everyone ordered. She then tried to tell us that Utah law requires that we order one food item PER DRINK instead of per person drinking. And since they had messed up and brought us an extra mimosa we needed to buy more food. She was really rude about it and finally my friend just paid for another meal.
Not too long after, the manager named Acea comes over and immediately starts to accuse us of not ordering food for everyone who had a drink. We tell him that we did and show him the food and plates sitting in front of us in addition to the extra meal we were forced to order in the middle of the table. We told him that the girls who served us had claimed that we had to order a food item per drink and he admitted that was wrong. He then said very loudly and aggressively that he give us a refund for the extra food and we could choose to never come back if we didn't like the way we were served. So we said great that's exactly what we want to do. He yelled "FINE!" and literally STOMPED away. He looked exactly like one of my kindergarten students throwing a tantrum.
When he came back he angrily said "here's your receipt" and slammed it on the table and stormed away. I have never been treated so poorly by someone who works in customer service. I've never been treated so poorly in a restaurant. I hate causing problems or dealing with confrontation but I got yelled at because some employees didn't understand the liquor laws and the manager was an ass with no patience or respect. I am honestly incredibly shocked, offended, and shaken up.
(Also, my tater tots were...
Read moreI really liked Even Stevens Sandwiches. Upon stepping in, it feels like stepping into the sandwich shop/ hangout place of the town. The room takes on a street like vibe. The green and gray layers of paint, flake off and give the place a worn down style. This effect is also added to, by pieces of the wall being cracked and chipped away in chunks, revealing the brick and mortar underneath. The feel is also accommodated by the metallic and wood highlights that are used in the furniture and counters in the restaurant. The walls also have graffiti drawings of cartoon characters, that are similar to the illustrations found in diary of a wimpy kid. Rock and Jazz music play in the background, but on saturdays, they bring in live music in the afternoon.
The staff was also very accommodating. Everyone is met with a smile and they hand you a menu as you approach the cash register. The staff was very willing to answer any questions and give suggestions about which sandwiches are personal or local favorites. The staff was also very quick to assist in cleaning up a certain “incident,” which involved two brothers and a cup of soda.
But of course, restaurants are normally regarded on the quality of their food. And I must say, it was pretty good. I decided to try the “Do Gouda” sandwich. The sandwich was made of semi-thin chunks of new york steak, with gouda cheese, greens (thick lettuce: not my fav), sweet onion marmalade and sourdough bread. It was also served with potatoes chips that were also very delicious and added a salty balance to the meal. And, you can always stay refreshed because they offer free refills! The sandwiches are all about ten dollars, which may seem a bit steep, but it's definitely worth the price for the quality you’re given. All things considered, Even Stevens is a great place, for a...
Read moreI went to even Stevens in Logan today and had the worst dinning experience I have ever had. I have been going there since it opened and really love the food but because of the way I got treated today I will never go back. Some friends and I went to get food and mimosas. Each person in our party ordered a meal and we all showed our IDs when the food was ordered after we sat down a server came to our table to check out IDs for a second time in a very accusing manner. After that they brought our drinks and had charged us and brought us an extra mimosa that we didn't order and then told us that since we had that extra mimosa that we didn't even order that we had to buy another meal. We tried to explain that we all already have meals but they made us buy another one anyways and I was clearly annoyed by it so Acea the general manager came to talk to our table when we explained why we were upset about the situation he treated us worse than I have ever been treated by someone who works In costumer service. Instead of apologizing for their mistake and trying to keep a loyal returning customer he told us that we dont need to come back. He gave us the money back for the extra meal we had to order but not for the extra mimosa that we didn't order which is fine because we gladly drank the extra mimosa, but when he gave the money back he came and slammed it on the table and in a rude tone said here's your money back and walked away with no apology. I feel so mistreated and I will never eat...
