To start off, I have stayed multiple Hilton hotel brands near Los Angeles area since I became a diamond member. I had not had any bad experience during my previous stays.
However, the bartender with blond hair wearing glasses at Waypoint Kitchen + Bar had an attitude when I ordered our second round drinks tonight. She shouted to another lady, saying that where I were seating, and she pointed to me that I should not be seated there.
Well, nobody, including her told/served us that where we could seated when my husband ordered and paid our three drinks about an half hour before. Also, two other groups over there were drinking on the table without ordering any food.
When I brought my group to the bar counter and rounded up our lovely family reunion time, she asked us if we want more drinks and brought the check. During that time, she did not gave me a single look or saying anything, but she put the bill to my husband, even the name on the room was mine and I ordered the drinks. At the end, she gave the final bill right in front of my husband seat without giving me any look.
Her customer service as a bartender was a quite offensive to me, and it is such a shame for the hotel. It could deviate a whole impression to the negative view about this hotel, although it is such a nice hotel with other excellent...
Read moreThey forgot our appetizer, gave is the wrong drink order, came back for 3 follow up questions for the order, and tried to give us a different tables drinks all before we got to the eating part.
The salmon was very salty and served with a steak knife. The burger was underwhelming. The server pointed out that she had requested it medium well, which was not what we ordered. The drama between the kitchen and servers was clear throughout our dining experience. And the food was taken from the table while we were still eating.
At the end the pen did not work, and when we asked for a new one the server stood by the table and watched us give the tip.
She apologized for the bad experience and for the kitchens shortcomings. She also removed the appetizer and burger from our check. That was good!
We will probably find a different...
Read moreSo, this Hilton Diamond member may have just had one of the best burgers ever...at an airport hotel near LAX! I've always liked the accommodations at this combination Hilton Curio/Homewood Suites property, but this evening we had a perfectly cooked, juicy hamburger together with generous portion of fries and onion rings that were equally (and surprisingly) delicious) at at the lobby restaurant named, Waypoint. I say "surprisingly" because I simply don't expect to be writing complimentary reviews of perfunctory airport hotel eateries. Add to this the exceptionally friendly service of bartender Elsa and her coworkers. We'll definitely be back both to stay and to eat when overnighting at LAX. (BTW... the roasted Green Beand were very good too...and made us feel a bit better about our otherwise decadent, finger...
