Disappointing Experience: False Advertising and Poor Service
As a long-time patron of this establishment for over 9 years, my recent visit left me utterly disappointed and frustrated. I have always been drawn to this restaurant for its promise of homemade nitro ice cream made fresh to order. However, my experience last night shattered this expectation entirely.
Upon placing our order, we patiently waited for what seemed like an eternity, only to be served store-bought, low-quality vanilla ice cream. Not only was this a far cry from the promised homemade nitro ice cream, but the audacity to charge $7.50 per scoop for such subpar quality is simply unacceptable.
When I confronted the employee regarding this blatant misrepresentation, I was met with appalling rudeness and an attempt to shift the blame onto me. The excuse that it was the employee's first day and my failure to specify "nitro ice cream" is not only ludicrous but insulting to my years of patronage.
Furthermore, the sheer lack of accountability displayed by the staff is appalling. Instead of acknowledging their mistake and rectifying the situation, they chose to adopt a defensive attitude, implying that I should have anticipated being scammed on this particular visit.
To add insult to injury, despite being the only customers present, we were left waiting for an inexplicable 20 minutes, leading us to believe that our ice cream was being freshly prepared when, in reality, it was simply scooped from a pre-made bucket.
In summary, my recent experience at this restaurant was marred by false advertising, poor service, and disrespectful behavior from the staff. As a long-standing customer, I expected better, and it is truly disheartening to witness such a decline in quality and integrity. I strongly advise others to reconsider patronizing this establishment until they address these...
Read moreI've been coming here a long time, always a great experience but just came in here late tonight around 8:30pm on Tuesday June 3rd. I asked the barista just for a black coffee and she kept telling me to order an Americana.
I said no I just want a black coffee (which I've ordered before) and she told me "maybe I meant a cold brew" I definitely didn't mean an Americana or Cold Brew ..I meant a simple black coffee.
She knows what a black coffee is but for some reason was acting s t upid and like she didn't have that I don't know why.
So I just went to a table and started working, she told me I had to leave because I didn't order anything. I asked her for just a black coffee (which again I've ordered before) and she said "You want an Americana"...I said "No, I want a black coffee"...and we did the whole thing again.
I said "Do you want me to show you what an Americana looks like vs. a black coffee..." and she just walked away from me.
I'll come back cus I really do like this place, but whoever this barista is (Asian lady) is super rude. Plays dumb..but she isn't.
IF in the rare case they really do NOT have a black coffee she could use her words and vocalize that...she could say "Oh we actually don't have black coffee anymore.." or whatver the response is.
But everytime I asked for it she just says "You want an Americana?"
LOL NO. I just want a black coffee lol. Heading out to get away from her she royaly p i ss e d me off by telling...
Read moreFirst off, the parking situation is beyond obnoxious. You have to valet it? Really? #GetReal Anyway, I was excited for the liquid nitrogen frozen ice cream after I read about it. I decided to try the Very Berry Waffle, which came with the ice cream on top and a latte. The waffle itself left much to be desired; it as a pretty basic and regular, with perhaps the most simple batter possible. And for $12? Bye! (Shaky Alibi has a delicious waffle, however!) You can save yourself the carbs - however, the ice cream was pretty tasty. And watching them make it was pretty cool, too. The Latte was, I would say, slightly above average. Had a very robust coffee flavor to it I quite enjoyed.
The space is really nice, and in my opinion, the real star of the show. It's really laid back, cozy, computer friendly (not TOO many outlets, though) and the nice smooth music made me wanna cozy up nap. The girl helping me was nice and diligent, I appreciated that.
Overall, with Tom n Toms across the street (that not only has a sensible parking arrangement, but is also 24 hours and with a wider range of beverages - the sweet potato and taro lattes are interesting!) I'm not sure I'd really come back. If I do, it'd be for...
