one of those LA gems where every dish feels like it was crafted with care, flavor, and just the right amount of fun.
The bowls are the stars here — rich broths, perfectly cooked noodles, and toppings that hit all the right notes. The Tonkotsu Ramen was creamy, hearty, and deep in flavor, with tender chashu pork that practically melts in your mouth. The Black Garlic Ramen added that roasted, smoky edge that makes you slow down and savor each bite, while the Shoyu Ramen balanced clean soy flavor with nostalgic comfort. Each one was distinct, but all were consistently satisfying.
The menu beyond ramen really shines too. The Spicy Tuna Roll (with creamy avocado and sesame) had that perfect kick of heat balanced by freshness. The Fried Rice was fluffy, flavorful, and loaded with smoky wok character — the kind of simple dish that steals the spotlight. The Takoyaki were crispy outside, gooey inside, topped with bonito flakes dancing in the steam — classic and delicious.
The Curry Rice had a savory depth that was pure comfort food, while the Crispy Rice with Spicy Tuna was a standout: crunchy base, creamy topping, a little drizzle of sauce — flavor and texture in perfect balance. And of course, the Gyoza came pan-seared just right: golden crisp bottoms, juicy inside, with a dipping sauce that tied it all together.
The service is welcoming and efficient, making the meal flow smoothly even when the restaurant gets busy. The vibe is cozy yet lively — the kind of place that works for a casual dinner with friends, a date night, or just treating yourself after a long day.
Hachioji Craft & Vegan Ramen isn’t just about ramen, it’s about variety and balance — bowls that warm your soul, sides that surprise you, and a dining experience that feels thoughtful and delicious from start to finish. Definitely a spot worth bookmarking in LA’s...
Read moreLOVED THIS RAMEN SPOT! A friend that is local to LA recommended we stop here for dinner out of the many, many ramen choices around. Hachioji definitely was a delicious spot for its broth, noodles, portion size, and balance of flavors!
We got the Vegan Red Ramen, and the combo of Spicy Ramen (my friend ordered extra noodles) + the Beef Yakiniku Bowl as our mains, plus the meat gyoza and garlicky edamame for starters. It was happy hour, so my friend got some great, super icy Sapporo.
The both ramens had superb broth with LOTS of vegetables to balance out the wonderful chew of the noodles. One of my friends is vegetarian and was really pleased to have such a nice variety to vegan broths. My other friend said the flavor of their spicy ramen was perfect— he wasn’t keen on how small the chunks of ground pork were inside, saying it didn’t really add much to his eating experience, but the flavor was great.
Edamame came with a delicious and very garlicky spice. The side salad had a really fresh and delicious tasting dressing that I should have gotten a bottle of! It’s that good! Dumplings had a perfect pan fry to the bottom for a crisp base and packed with a pop of flavor.
The service was a little curt as they let us know they had very limited seating, which is fine as one of our friends had to walk and extra 8-minutes so we started ordering food before they got there to help with the flow of the restaurant. We felt a little rushed to order due to their policy to seat whoever comes in ready to order, first, but that’s okay! Just plan your visit so that you’re ready to eat and leave instead of taking a table for too long.
Overall I’m SO GLAD we chose this spot during our trip to LA! Hoping to...
Read moreI am a regular at this ramen bar as I live in the area. This place is amazing!! The staff is polite, pleasant, and welcoming. I have never had a bad experience here and I go a lot. Seating inside is great for the size of the space and they even have an outside table. The wait time is rarely long, with most times you get immediately sat. The chefs/cooks are on point and quick! The asthetics and atmosphere inside is super chill. Love the rising sun on the back wall. the bar is always nice. Lunch specials are fantastic and great price/value. Happy hour is a must as their beer is ice cold! Grab an ice cold Sopporo; Trust me, you will be so refreshed. This establishment is owned by the same company that has Daikokuya next door so when that line is miles long, come down to Hachioji instead and wreck this delicious ramen! It brings the standard Shio and Shoyu tastes, while bringing more craft tastes as well. The Yama and Umi ramen are a must have. If you need more vegetarian/vegan options, they have a vegan white and red. The white is hands down my favorite ramen and the reason I always recommend the place. Dont forget to add some Yuzu kosho or a spicy miso ball for that added flavor and kick. The duck is also really tasty, so give it a go! Appetizers are great and quick. Their fried chicken Karage is my favorite, plenty of meat and the breading isn't overpowering. It is always juicy. Try their crispy tuna as well. Their rice and meat bowls are also all great taste and good portions. Their fried rice is enough to feed 2 people and is super filling.
I got nothing but good things to say about this...
