I recently had an extremely disappointing experience at B3 in Lynnwood. The service was poor from the start. The staff barely attended to us and gave unpleasant looks when we mentioned we only wanted water. Our waitress appeared exhausted and disinterested. Her recommendations on sides and dishes were vague and unhelpful—essentially information I could have found online.
Our appetizer, wings, arrived nearly raw. When we flagged down our waitress, she said, “Oh, that’s not good, we wouldn’t want anyone to get sick,” took the wings away, and disappeared. We didn’t see her again until it was time for the check. There were no apologies, no offers to replace the dish, and no involvement from management. This neglect was unprofessional and concerning.
The lack of basic service continued: our water glasses were never refilled, and we asked multiple times for napkins, which never arrived. The staff seemed disinterested in helping each other, creating a toxic environment where everyone was out for themselves. The waitress had a cast on her wrist, which might explain the slow service, but it was the restaurant’s responsibility to ensure adequate support from other staff. Instead, we were left managing a poorly executed dining experience.
When my order arrived, which included eggs Benedict with salmon and brioche French toast, I received soggy potatoes instead of the fruit I had ordered. Upon inquiring about the missing fruit, the waitress tried to gaslight me, claiming I hadn’t ordered it and offering berries for an extra charge. At the end of the meal, when we finally got a water refill, the waitress remarked, “I won’t charge you for this,” which seemed like a poor attempt at humor given the context of our experience.
The kitchen’s performance was also concerning. Serving raw chicken is a serious health risk and reflects a lack of basic cooking skills. If the kitchen staff cannot manage fundamental food safety during peak hours, they should not be working during busy times. This lapse could lead to severe health violations and potentially jeopardize the restaurant’s operation.
It’s surprising that in 2024, when dining out is a significant financial commitment and grocery prices are high, poor service and shoddy cooking are still issues. Restaurant owners and staff should be grateful that people continue to dine out despite the costs, but B3 seems to be doubling down on mediocrity rather than improving.
We visited B3 on a Saturday afternoon at 1:30 p.m. The restaurant closes at 4 p.m., and it was not full, making the inadequate service and management even more perplexing. Where was the manager, and why was the restaurant so understaffed during what should be a busy time?
My friends ordered chicken tenders and a BLET sandwich with sweet potato fries. The tenders were dry and lacked proper breading, and the BLET was fresh but flavorless, with a cold, untoasted bun.
With over three years of dining out in NYC for every meal before COVID, I understand what good service and food look like. B3 fell short on both counts. While I don’t expect Michelin-star service, I do expect basic effort, courtesy, and attention to detail. B3’s failure to meet these expectations, coupled with their disregard for customer satisfaction, indicates they are coasting on mediocrity.
If a restaurant cannot provide safe, high-quality food with attentive service and still charges premium prices, it doesn’t deserve to stay in business. This place needs a serious review from health services. Based on this experience, I won’t be...
Read moreOh wow!! I woke up yesterday morning and was famished. I decided to order breakfast for delivery. I found this place and was stoked by the menu! So many wild delicious options!
I ordered the Gravy Coops for me. This is a biscuit, pork belly or fried chicken (I got pork belly), 3 eggs (poached), sausage gravy, and their homestyle potatoes. I also got a side of hollandaise.
For my husband I got him chicken fried steak with eggs (scrambled), sausage gravy, homestyle potatoes, and a biscuit.
We live 15 minutes away. The DoorDash driver promptly delivered our food. I had jumped in the shower, my husband was on a work call. We don’t grab the food from the porch for about 15 more minutes.
Y’all. Everything was piping hot!! What magic is this!?! Potatoes perfectly crispy and melty. The poached eggs were expertly made and still jammy and creamy inside! Dream come true!! Scrambled eggs were so fluffy and moist! Chicken fried steak was so good and tender. The pork belly was crispy and still fork tender, like a roast. WOW! The biscuits were the size of softballs and still hot and moist. They were amazing even on their own.
I was blown away we got our sausage gravies on the side in cups. Thank you!! It make the presentation beautiful and kept the meats crispy until ready to eat. As a born and raised country girl from Idaho, country gravy is serious stuff. They win for having the best sausage country gravy on the planet, period. It’s so savory and has this amazing smoky flavor to it. My husband took the first bite and threw his head back and proclaimed, “Oh my God, this is SO GOOD!!”. I live for biscuits and gravy and B3 beats any other breakfast joint for it.
The hollandaise sauce came in the same size cup as the gravy. I was surprised! Excellent side for $3! It was unique- not sure if it’s a mix or homemade but it’s different. Very thick and creamy. Really good. I’m used to the butter and lemon kind, so not what I expected however it was delicious!
My only small complaint was that the order of chicken fried steak and eggs comes with biscuit, toast, or English muffin. I picked the biscuit (best decision ever) but it only came with one tiny cup of butter, and one tiny cup of their freezer jam. It was enough to cover an eighth of the biscuit. We had to laugh because the portions of these meals were ginormous but we got these tiny little cups of butter and jam. I’ll ask for extra next time now that I know.
We each could eat only half and were stuffed to the gills. I put them in the fridge and patiently waited until I was hungry again to finish it because it was all I could think about!
I’m so glad I stumbled across this restaurant because hands down it’s the very best breakfast I’ve ever had in my 47 years on the planet. Kudos to your chefs, they are talented and you can tell they have a passion for cooking. I am super excited to explore the rest of the menu in the future!
Thank you B3 for the...
Read moreI'm not sure what happened with B3, if they're under new management or ownership but the quality of service isn't the same as it used to be. When I started eating here a year ago there was always someone to give you an enthusiastic and cheerful greeting when you walked in whether it was busy or not. The waitresses always provided great service that was quick and friendly. I had breakfast with my little one here this morning and it wasn't the same. No one greeted customers coming through the door. The prices went wayyyy up. I ordered two glasses of orange juice and was given the option of a small or tall but not wasn't told what the price difference was and it wasn't on the menu. My meal of eggs Benedict with ham and a cup of fruit was $15.50 and the two glasses of orange juice came out to $12.00. They were just regular glasses of orange juice I thought. No one came to ask how the food was or if we needed anything or any refills. I dropped my fork and asked our waitress for a new one. She asked the bus boy to grab a new one for us. The customer seated next to me realized how long it was taking so she reached over and took the set off the clean table next to hers and gave me that. She said she's a waitress herself and it was kinda obvious to her that they weren't paying us much attention. When I was given the bill I realized I didn't have enough cash and said so to the waitress and asked if they took Google pay to which she said they did not and just walked away. When I was ready to settle the bill i waited for a while for someone to come pick it up and ended up just going and waiting by the front to get help. I had to ask the bus boy to take the payment and waited about 15 minutes before my card was returned to me by someone else. A different waitress looked and walked passed me three different times and didn't bother to stop and ask if we were being helped. The food, as always, was absolutely delicious and I love the portions. I'll continue coming because the breakfast here is so appetizing but I'll just make sure to not have high expectations for good service and will hope it's a better day for them the next...
