Hololani Resort on Maui - Lahaina Vacation Rentals — Hotel in Maui

We loved our stay at hololani A602- the ocean views were amazing and the sounds of the waves were the perfect lullaby at night. We saw whales splashing and breaching nearly every 30 seconds (mid march), some divers and supers, a few turtles, and had gorgeous views of molokai and lanai - all from our balcony. While there is no beach directly in front of the complex, there was a great little beach a few blocks down the road where we saw lots of turtles and fish while snorkeling. Our water socks came in handy here as some parts are a bit rocky and we were more adventurous, but there is still plenty of sand so you can swim/snorkel barefoot.

while there is no air conditioning, we were comfortable most of the time thanks to multiple ceiling fans and box fans that were provided. It got a bit humid inside in the middle of the day, but it wasn't too bad as we were usually out and about at this time. Unfortunately the unit is pretty dated and the carpet definitely needs to be replaced as well as the chipping/scuffed paint on the walls, but it wasn't anything unbearable and the ocean views made up for it. Everything else was very clean. The unit had pretty much everything we needed, but was missing a scissors and regular dish soap (there were only dishwasher pods) and all the knives were extremely dull. We were a bit disappointed to learn we could not use the beach toys and boogie boards in the locker by our parking spot, but the provided beach towels came in handy and we still found ways to have fun at the beach. There is a few rental places nearby as well as stores and gift shops. We were able to buy everything we needed without ever having to take the car. (bring your reusable bags - hawaii is very eco-friendly and either doesn't give bags or charges you for them!)

we had seen several reviews mentioning the sliding door being tricky, so we asked about it and they told us it had been repaired in february 2022. The two large doors onto the lanai worked fine, but the door in the second bedroom (twin beds) was very tricky to get locked and it goes directly out onto the main walkway for the floor's other units. Once we got it locked, we just left it closed the rest of the time but it would've been nice to have it working better to let the breeze flow through.

we went to a great luau in lahaina only a 10 minute drive south, and kapalua is only 10 minutes north. The area is touristy but still quiet and relaxing - nothing like waikiki where we had been in the days prior to staying here. This complex is a 45 minute drive from the airport, but it's a beautiful drive between the mountains and the ocean so we didn't mind at all.

vacasa was helpful and relatively easy to reach when we needed them, the only downfall of their service is that housekeeping came 15 minutes before checkout and stood outside annoyed waiting for us while we finished packing up (even though they were early and i was given a link to check out which would let them know when we left.) we ended up throwing everything into bags and finished packing in the garage which was a bit stressful.

overall we had an amazing time and will definitely come back to hololani - but next time we will probably choose a more updated unit (we booked last minute and this was the only one left). Mahalo to the...

Rent this condo! The views are even more amazing than what you see in the provided pictures! We saw sea turtles and Himoback whales ( or maybe false killer whales from our lanai). I spent several afternoons on the lanai, reading a book. Absolute heaven on earth. But I did get a sunburn from the indirect light. I didn’t know that was possible! So, wear sunscreen when you’re on the lanai, even if you don’t think the sun is getting to you. The furniture is perfect for dining on the lanai. I don’t know why this rental has a dining table inside, maybe just in case of a bad weather day? Lol every little helpful thing is here in this condo for your stay. Kitchen. A new wrapped sponge and soap for cleaning the pans. Cooking pans, air fryer (perfect for reheating leftovers), microwave, stove, oven, rice cooker, dishwasher. Plates glasses, mugs, and utensils for your dining needs. Tea kettle, spoon rest, toaster, blender. An ice maker in the freezer. They thought of everything! They even surprised us by providing a box of chocolate covered macadamia nuts and genuine maui coffee for brewing. Yummy coffee every morning. And if I had brought my own coffee beans, they provided a coffee grinder as well. Thank you! The provided Vacasa branded toiletries, smell, wonderful: shampoo, conditioner, body lotion. Should i mention the view from the potty? Yes! I could view sea turtles in the ocean from my seat in the bathroom but they could not see me! Beach towels, beach chairs, guide books. Laundry soap, just in case you need to wash your clothing after dining at (wearing food from) one of the nearby restaurants. Reserved parking for one vehicle. No need to keep track of a condo key because the entry lock to the condo uses a code. These are the most comfortable beds and comfortable pillows! I slept so well here. I loved being woken up throughout the night by the crashing waves below us. It made me smile as i remembered where I was. And the couch? It is really comfy, too. The pool is absolutely amazing. The sides and bottom of the pool are a mosaic of tiles. The tiles felt so wonderful under my feet. Most unlike that scratchy finish you get in some pools that actually tear at the soles of your feet. We didn’t use the poolside grills, but we enjoyed the aromas that wafted up to our room from others who were using the grills. Yum! The condo is beautifully clean. The floors, the tub, the toilets, the kitchen, fridge, the freezer, all of it! If I could take their housecleaning staff back with me to my house, I would! As a vacasa rental, I loved that I wasn’t required to run the dishwasher or wash the sheets before I left. It made my last day at the condo so peaceful and enjoyable! We chose this place for our honeymoon vacation only because of the location where we can see the sunset directly and paid almost 600 dollars for the view. However we had never recieved any information about checking in except the address before we had arrived in front of the door to enter. Right after we made a reservation I sent a message and right before the check in time I asked them to give us the passcode to get in but they never replied me back a single time. To solve this, I called to the office to get the code and they told me that they would send the code. So my fiance and I had to wait to get the code for 30 mins. But they sent us the wrong code and they told me that they would send the manager to handle the issue in 15min however it was a lie. No one showed up and they just sent a text message with a new code after 1 hour. While we were spending our precious time in front of the door, the sunset of the first they gone. Also, the dinner time had passed. We were trying to understand this inconvenience but suprisingly the same situation happened once again right after the next day. They had changed the pass code while we were out, and did not tell it to us. So when we came back, we had to face the same situation which occured 22 hours ago. We could not see the sunset because of the 1st day door code issue, we had to cancel the original plan of the 2nd day and came back to the place. The new code of the previous day did not work so we had to call the office again. I called to the 3 different manager but none of them knew the changed pass code. All of them lied to me to send the manager in 20min once again. This time, they let us wait over 2 hours outside for getting a changed code in front of the door. We had to face the cold wind and it made my wife to get cold. The irresponsible host ruined not only 2days but also our whole honeymoon. After we get in, I asked them to reach me to the local manager before we check out and they said yes, but I could not get a single call from them. I had to go to the office only to get the local manager's phone number to deal with this issue. The local manager did not give us a single aplogize and blamed us. By choosing this place, our memorable honeymoon is gone ruined. We wasted our precious 4 hours of the honeymoon vacation and also my wife got sick. The cancellation of the original journey went into the vane. I paid $600 to get this...
