The whole point of my trip was to rest and recover from major surgery, my DH surprised me with this trip.||I have been traveling for 35 years, Iâve experienced a few bugs in hotels which I kill and move on. I understand tropical countries have bugs. I tolerate a few here or there. But my experience with this hotel was not good, the Kitchen was clearly infested with cockroaches. We did not notice as we arrived late and were tired. But when we started to unpack groceries we noticed a few cockroaches and killed them. The next day We found them in the dishwasher and they ran across the kitchen counters, and the floor in the living room.||We were hopeful that the few caught would be the end of it, but by the end of the day I killed 30 cockroaches. I didnât want to upset my husband he felt sad for booking this place. I realized this infestation was worse than ever, I took our bags out to car to prevent contamination. We went out and bought glue traps and I contacted front desk who installed bait stations. They also Promised to contact us if a new room was available and would have exterminator spray some time in next few days we did not hear back from them.||I could not sleep or eat in this hotel room because I was so upset. I know that they shut down restaurants if bugs are crawling all over counters , I just didnât think it was sanitary to cook there. I have food allergies so it is hard for me to find restaurants to eat at. I ended up getting sick .||I know that this has been a terrible time for hotels in this area and many rooms may have sat empty for months, but I would think an inspection of each room before you open it up would have the guest best experience in mind. There were bugs in the dishwasher and on the counter that just could not be missed on a simple inspection. By mid week with the traps and bait stations the numbers crashed and by the end of week the bugs were down to none or one which I think came inside from a faulty screen door flashing. ||To add to this preventable situation, at home I have to decontaminate all my clothes, and bags which is just more work. Very sad this had to be...
Read morethe map made it appear the resort was between the water and the lower road. It was not. It had a steep hillside on which four buildings sat. Our room was at the top of the hillside with no view of water. In fact, could not see the water from anywhere at this resort. There were three large buildings between the lower road and the water that blocked any view. The walk-way from the parking area to the elevator access was extremely steep and we have difficultly pushing a luggage cart up the hill when loaded with baggage. The queen bed in the living room was a hide-a-bed that was difficult for us to put up and down. There was one chair in the living room so the sofa had to be put up and down every day. The kitchen was tiny but complete with stove, refer, microwave and dishwasher. It came well equipped with tools and dishes. Unfortunately, all of the cabinets were over the stove, dishwasher and sink so for someone 5 foot tall, they were not accessible. We requested a step stool and they ignored the request. If you are not strong and somewhat tall, you will find this property difficult to navigate. We did not encounter any cockroaches but did have some tiny black ants in the bathroom. The unit was otherwise clean. The TV's were so old their browsers did not support using any streaming services such as Netflics, Disney +, etc. so if you enjoy winding down with a movie, forget it. The check-in system after hours involved using a wall phone to call another resort, get a combination to open a wall safe and then select an envelope with my name on it. It worked but was not very inviting. All in all, you need to be strong and tall and if view is unimportant and you don't care that you have to drive to a beach, this property is probably okay for you. For us, it was disappointing and not one we would...
Read moreVery dissatisfied with the service. They donât have hot water enough for a 2 bedroom suite and they 24hr front desk. They open at 8:30am so if you need anything you have to wait for the receptionist/housekeeping to be there.
1st issue: No 2 people at once if you need to shower because hot water is apparently not working due to a very small water heater under the kitchen sink for a 2 Bedroom 2 Bath.
2nd issue: the AC unit itâs only in the downstairs living room, which needs to a balcony upstairs or the master bedroom. Master bedroom is the AC from downstairs which means bedroom itâs really hot. They have a fan upstairs which is supposed to cool down the master bedroom. Second bedroom only has a standing fan and a ceiling fan which do not keep the bedroom cool enough.
3rd issue: I had to request for towels and toilet paper and no one came. When I called the next day in the afternoon since I was out all day, the receptionist said to wait because housekeeping was busy. 2 days busy? Unacceptable. On top of that I asked what happened to fixing the water heater and front desk stated that they had 2 orders ahead of me and I had to wait. Again, waiting on 3rd day for this to get fixed.
With regards to the hot water, It was suggested to take a shower every 30/60 min to allow the water to heat up. Should I boil water to take showers now? Unacceptable!!!!
4th issue: no one ever came to clean or do any sort of...
