I just finished having dinner there, and service is always mediocre, but tonight was by far the worst service of all time! They sat us fairly quickly when we got there. And there was a little rush going on. The restaurant was pretty full. They sat us, and our waiter didn't come around for at least 20 minutes. When he finally did, he didn't even introduce himself, just asked, "what do you want to drink?" 10 minutes later, comes out w the waters, drops them off and rushes off. Comes back 15 minutes later. During these 15 minutes, I decide to go ask the "BARTENDER" at the bar if the Cucumber Martini has actual cucumber puree, or if they use a flavored syrup. He doesn't understand my question, had to ask another server what they make their drink out of. My question was answered, so I go back to my seat to order w my server. Finally, our server comes back, asks what we'd like to order, I ask if they have TOFU at the sushi bar, And of course, He doesn't know, so he has to go ask someone. Ya'll dont. - okay, so I just order yakisoba w/ veggies. And rice with veggies. Oh yeah, and I ordered that Cucumber martini w the delicious puree. Food came out at a decent time, But I never got the martini, I never got the rice w veggies. He asks later if everything's okay.. I tell him what I didn't get, but to just forget it.At this point. I'm just kinda in disbelief w the forgetfulness of this server. And final, when we get the receipt, we get charged for the rice I never got. I normally dont leave reviews. But this was just WAY TOO MUCH! The server not knowing about certain items, Taking forever bringing drinks, Not bringing certain drinks, Charging us items he never brought. Not bussing the table, Heck, I think the manger was the one taking our dishes back.. The" bartenders" lack of knowledge on items ya'll serve all day every day, like a freaking cucumber martini. It was very disappointing experience. More than ever before. Definitely...
Read moreI expected a welcoming experience at this restaurant, especially since it promotes itself as LGBT-friendly, but what my girlfriend and I experienced was the complete opposite. From the moment we walked in, we were given cold, dismissive service. Despite several empty booths on one side of the restaurant, we were told it was "packed" and denied seating there. It was obvious we were being judged whether for being an openly LGBT couple or for my casual attire. The contradiction of a place that claims to be inclusive yet discriminates based on appearance and authenticity was both frustrating and disappointing. The overall ambience was far from comfortable. We felt the weight of stares from customers, waiters, cooks, and even the person in charge. Instead of being greeted with a welcoming attitude, the manager approached us with no warmth, skipping any pleasantries and going straight to taking our order. It was uncomfortable and unprofessional. The most frustrating part? The moment I started ordering expensive items, everything suddenly changed. The same staff that barely acknowledged us before were now overly attentive, practically bending over backward to make up for their initial treatment. It was painfully obvious that respect here is tied to how much you spend rather than who you are as a customer. This place is anything but LGBT-friendly. No one should have to endure an unwelcoming atmosphere, judgmental stares, or dismissive service, only to be treated better when the bill gets higher. I’d highly recommend spending your money at the better Kumori at...

This used to be one of my top restaurants; at one time even going thrice a week since inception about 13 years ago if I recall correctly. So Kumori, what happened? oh that's right COVID happened- so this is the perfect excuse to keep the unfixed sewage smell problem latent, to keep the restrooms smelling like....COVID? (dirty and smelly), and to have mediocre customer service and old splattered food residue on furniture and fixtures? correct, blame it on the nasty virus. Well, let me break it to you, if you can't handle it just stop serving people. And I will not bore readers with examples of issues but probably the most noteworthy as is the "new" jalapeno bomber compared to the "old" version; what a difference; suffice to say that what made you split it into dry unsavory slices? the whole purpose was to keep the cream chesse melted and warm inside of the jalapaneo peeper so as when cut one could hear the crunch and then all the cheese come out oozing out mixing it with the sauces and voila....magic. Now unfortunately, no magic. As far as the menu, I believe, about 3 dozen of the "old" traditional rolls out the menu; why would you remove from the menu rolls that have been there for a dozen years? and people's favorites?......sad. And lastly the excellent customer service all but gone. Well, Kumori, it seems the long wait, 2 years, before visiting again was all but worthless, but on the positive side of things, it was good...
