I’m never a person to leave bad reviews, but I felt this particular location and management deserves a review. Our family traveled with my sister’s family to attend the Liberty Bowl. We booked our room December 9th. The 27th we got a notification our card has been charged for the room we booked. We arrived at the hotel with young children in tow only to find out they overbooked and didn’t have our room. We opted to stay with a room with one king bed and sofa bed with the agreement we would be able to change room the next day. According to the hotel staff, they contacted us but we never received a called from them for the overbooked situation nor the option to change the room. When we asked management to remedy the mistake, they offered us some snacks. They told us in order for us to get part of our refund for a room less than the one we booked 18 days prior, they would have to cancel the room, then we’d have to contact Expedia to get our refund. When we told go ahead and cancel the room, so we can contact Expedia immediately in front of them, the manager retracted his statement. He told us it was not their responsibility to cancel and refund. I lost my patience on them and questioned why it is our responsible when it’s clearly their mistake. They had ample time to correct the issue even to the day/hours before we arrived to give us options to move our two families to a different hotel. We asked if they have a policy to contact guests when they run into overbooking issues. The manager told us they ALWAYS contact guests when they have this issue. When questioned why we were not contacted, he didn’t have an answer but began to be dismissive claiming we’re not trying to understanding of their problems. We believe we were gracious by not making a fuss about their mistake and were accommodating by rearranging our sleeping situations with two teenagers and parents. The manager refused to talk to me and refused to understand our situation even after he admitted that they made mistakes. When he gave me attitude and backtracking his words and shifting blames on us I called him out for it and he dismissed me. I asked if his refusal to speak to me because I called him out on his unacceptable behavior towards his female coworker and myself as a woman. He threatened to call the police for and I told him to call to the police so I can explain to them his dismissive behavior speaking to a woman who called him out for taking back his words and not owning to his mistakes. He called someone and I waited for authority but none showed up. I would be glad to have someone else seeing the problem they caused us but only wanted bandage it with some snacks. They made it difficult for us, by making us contact Expedia because “Expedia work for us and not for them.” We reached out to the site we booked and were able to get partial refund for the one bed and sofa bed when we booked two queens and a sofa. We never had issues with other Là Quinta locations, so we don’t believe it’s Là Quinta; it’s simply poor management and customer service. Hope this manager learns to not be dismissive of guests when a woman is...

I had a great experience staying at La Quinta Inn & Suites by Wyndham Memphis I-24. Driving to the hotel feels a little sketchy at first—it’s tucked away behind some buildings and in the woods, just off the interstate, and you cross a small bridge over a creek or river to get there. But don’t let that fool you—this is a very nice and well-kept hotel.
One of the best parts was how safe I felt. The parking lot is gated, and you need a keycard to enter the building—twice—before even getting to your room. That added layer of security really gave me peace of mind.
The room was spacious and cozy, more like a small suite. It had a soft bed with fluffy pillows, two TVs, a kitchenette, a living area, and a clean bathroom. The overall setup was perfect for relaxing or even getting some work done.
The keycard access to the pool from outside was broken during our stay, which was a minor inconvenience. Also, if you're a smoker, you’ll need to go to the designated area behind the hotel—there are tables and ashtrays, but there’s a $300 fine if you smoke anywhere else.
The staff were all friendly, helpful, and incredibly attentive. During breakfast, a couple of spills happened (syrup and juice machine), and they jumped in immediately to clean everything up. Breakfast was also tasty and had a good variety of options.
All in all, I’d definitely stay here again. It may look a little uncertain at first glance, but once you’re in, it’s clean, comfortable, safe,...
Read moreFirst the good. This is a new modern La Quinta, with a nice indoor pool, and a nice fitness center. It is clean, and tidy, and the staff are very friendly and very accommodating. One very neat added bonus is this La Quinta has a in-house room service. Pizza, burgers, salads, wings. Reasonably priced. I had the 8" pepperoni pizza. It was very yummy, and it was delivered to my room rather quickly. There was a included hot breakfast the next morning in the dining area. The food was hot, fresh, well stocked, and even some fresh hot cookies and biscuits. Now for what can be improved. Avoid getting room #106. This room is next to the entrance you need to use if you park in the gated parking lot. The area is a rough area of Memphis. So, I see why, and appreciate the security and gated parking lot. However, everyone must enter in a side entrance, with two doors you have to pass thru with electric magnetic locks which are unlocked with room key. The locks are very loud. This is also right next to the baggage carts, and a very noisy ice machine. I could not get any sleep with the noisy ice machine, and people coming in and out all hours of the night. In addition everyone bangs the three wheel baggage carts into the adjoining wall to room #106. The hotel should switch rooms #106 to be a linen/storage room, and make room #106 out of a different space. Or just don't put guests in room #106. So, if they try to give you room #106, ask for a different room. Otherwise you will not...
