I stayed at the One50 Hotel Miami South Beach from January 6th to January 10th, 2025, in the two-balcony penthouse suite with a partial ocean view. While I absolutely loved my room, the overall experience left me frustrated due to the lack of amenities and poor communication from the hotel.
First, the positives: my room was clean, spacious, and offered beautiful views. The location is fantastic, right near The Setai, which added a sense of security, and it’s conveniently located on a major public transport line. I also appreciated the concierge arranging a bus and boat tour, which was a highlight of my trip.
However, the negatives outweighed the positives. The pool, rooftop bar, and restaurant were all closed due to renovations, which I wasn’t informed about when I confirmed my booking. This was incredibly disappointing, as these amenities were a big part of why I chose this hotel. Waking up to early construction noise and not being able to enjoy the pool or rooftop space was a huge letdown. I specifically booked this trip to relax, and the lack of access to these amenities really impacted my experience.
Breakfast was underwhelming—just muffins and yogurt—and I expected more for the price I paid. While free tea and coffee were available all day, that didn’t make up for the lack of a functional restaurant. Additionally, my room was uncomfortably cold at night, and the heating didn’t work. I had to request a heater from the front desk, which was inconvenient.
I also think the hotel could improve by adding seating at the front entrance outside the doors, giving guests a comfortable place to sit outdoors. We need place to sit while we wait for cabs and such.
Given the lack of amenities and the disruptions caused by construction, I feel the hotel should have adjusted my room rate or offered some form of compensation. I paid for a full-service experience, and that’s not what I received. For a four-night stay, I expected better communication and service.
I’m giving this stay 2.5 stars (rounded up to 3) because the room itself was great, and the location is excellent. However, I won’t consider staying here again until all renovations are complete and the amenities are fully operational. I hope the hotel sees this review and offers some compensation for the...
