I don't know where to start, but let me try it:

The staff ... is the most attentive and supporting I've ever met. Every single person working here goes above and beyond by making you feel like you're not just "a" but "THE" guest.

They made the birthday of my partner so special by upgrading us to a penthouse suite with our very own terrace, whirlpool & champagne. When dining at their restaurant they even made a special desert just for her.

When picking up the complimentary breakfast the staff is so kind, that it's impossible to have a bad start into your day.

Also the cleaning staff does a great job - it's very clean. But they were a little unreliable in providing necessary items. They stopped bringing fresh beach towels on day 3, or forgot toilet paper, water etc. That could've been better.

Long story short: We've been to A LOT of hotels all over the world. The staff at Greystone makes it easily into the Top 3.

The rooms... The room is probably one of the best the hotel has to offer, so I can only speak for this room. The interior is tasteful, the bed is huge and cozy, it's perfectly clean. The bathroom has everything you need, you get a window front to your very own terrace with seating opportunities and a whirlpool for your own. Also the hotel offers state of the art tech: good wifi, chromecast, tablet for info & chat with the frontdesk etc. (One suggestion for the Hotel though: the option to plug-in an HDMI Cable to your TV would be great. As Europeans, we're not able to stream stuff from home without using VPN due to geo blocking. VPN won't work with chromecast so we're limited to the US repertoire of Netflix & co. - HDMI woudld fix this problem because I could plug-in my notebook)

Then we were afraid we'd have problems with the noises of Miami Beach as it's mid march (spring break) and because of the location with nearby clubs and so on. Again, I'm not sure if it's because of the room, but when the windows are shut we have no trouble sleeping. Sure, there's a car playing loud music / a police car's siren / a garbage truck in the morning and stuff like that, but it's totally bearable. Especially when you keep in mind where this place is located. But if you're super sensitive you should think twice about coming here (and I'm talking about the whole of South Beach, not the Greystone)

Breakfast... The complimentary breakfast is not the typical international buffet, it's a little stand with coffee / espresso and a small selection of pastries. I read some negative comments about that, but here's the thing: I'm kind of a coffee nerd with an oldschool italian espresso machine + italian beans as we gladly live not too far from Italy. So I'm super picky and usually skip the morning coffee in hotels. But the Americano they serve at Greystone has a great quality and I'm taking a cup every morning. That's remarkable. Also the pastries are good, the croissants are like they do them in France and are actually how I start my day at home, which is nice. To make the point: they offer less than usual but in a way better quality than you usually get.

If you're looking into a more rich breakfast, there are many places nearby.

The Beach... is only a few steps away, super wide, clean and just beautiful. Hotel guests get free chairs and you have big beach towels in your room. Umbrellas need to be purchased for 21$/day. I recommend to get them, despite using sunscreen we got bad sunburns on day 1. The sun is relentless here.

Parking... The hotel itself doesn't offer parking lots so I won't include that in the rating. But maybe this helps others: There's a parking garage next door which offers special rates for guests for 40$ a night (which is ridiculous). The garage is run down, narrow and super sketchy. I don't feel safe there and I wouldn't bring my partner in there but rather pick her up at the hotel. After a bit of research I found an official parking garage by Miami gov at Collins Park (23rd street) which is spacious, bright, secured and only 20$ a night. It's a 5min walk from the hotel,...

Beautiful Hotel, Wonderful staff, Try the Restaurant! (4.5/5)

I'll start by saying the hotel is quite beautiful. The location is pretty convenient access wise, situated next to a CVS (snacks and sunblock!) and close to a number of fun things to do a short walk away: clubs, food, the museum, etc, and they provide towels and chairs for lounging on the beach if you feel like doing that. There's a small rooftop pool with lounging chairs, and restrooms and towels if you don't feel like making the walk over to the beach. The hotel restaurant, Serevene, is very good; and I highly recommend trying it out. The hotel cafe (just outside) was less exciting and would skip, I think.

We stayed at the hotel for 4 nights; staying in a double double we booked for one night... but the crowds get pretty loud on the side of the building where most of the two bed double double rooms are and it carries into the building a bit. If you or your traveling companion are a light sleeper, keep this in mind--particularly on Wednesdays, I'm told. We requested a quieter room and Stephanie at the desk was extremely gracious and gave us a pick of one of a couple of options further away from the noise. We chose to go with the King room (the superior king, I think it was called) for the duration of the stay, which was quite spacious and honestly pretty nicely laid out. Stephanie even had a white noise machine put in the room before we moved in.

In general, the staff was great which was a good thing since our trip had a few little surprises, haha: switching rooms from the double double to the king and a shower in the king room that leaked through the closed shower door a bit and water we all couldn't figure out how to heat for the first evening after we moved! I unfortunately can't remember the name of the person at desk that evening but she had us covered with an alternative shower for the night so we didn't have to entirely move rooms again that day. The next morning, after inspection by the engineer, it came out that the shower knob was reversed which was a funny moment and relief for all of us! Shout out to Jordan who made sure we were squared away at all times as well as the engineer who I had a good chuckle with when he realized it was the shower knob!

Marking 4 stars for the rooms (this time) because as I've noted, the stay wasn't completely without issue (I think we were just unlucky) but my honest opinion is that the hotel was nice and the staff were kind, responsive, and did their best to make sure our stay was as comfortable as possible in spite of it and that speaks volumes about the service---and the staff were honestly just plain fun to chat with! I'd definitely recommend considering Hotel Greystone for your stay.

I hope to...

Overall, our stay at the Greystone was good and all the staff we encountered were excellent, particularly Timmy who checked us in. I'll start with the good:

The rooftop pool was perfect, we spent a great morning/early afternoon up there, plenty of seating and umbrellas. The pool is a highlight of the property.

The hotel bar has a nice vibe, darkly lit with small lamps on the bar, and really good cocktails and bartenders. Would be a great spot for a drink before/after a date.

Location was perfect, plenty of bars/restaurants within walking distance, a parking garage across the street ($40 overnight) and easy access to the beach where the hotel also includes two free lounge chair rentals from one of the beach vendors with your stay.

Staff were all friendly and well trained and were nice enough to accommodate us with a late checkout (2pm) so we could enjoy the pool and then shower before departing

Now the not so good:

It's loud. We stayed in the courtyard, and while the courtyard itself is nice (and has complimentary coffee/pastries in the morning) at night people were quite loud and the sound carries. I understand this is an adults only hotel, and I'm a pretty heavy sleeper, but since the hallways are open air facing out to the courtyard, I was woken up several times between 2-3am on a Monday morning. Literally just people drunk and screaming, which I think since they aren't in an enclosed hallway, but outside, people are not even remotely trying to keep it down. Ditto for street traffic/construction noise starting at 8am.

While the rooftop pool space is lovely, at the moment it appears they are building out a bar up there that's not completed. This means that while there is a server taking drink/food orders, she has to radio them downstairs where they eventually get filled and then brought up 4 floors via elevator. We were there on a Monday morning, there were maybe 15 people around the pool and it took 45 minutes to get two drinks upstairs. I can't imagine if we were there on a Sat afternoon with a more full crowd, it's just woefully inefficient. The server did her best, but they really need a bar on the roof.

In short I would certainly recommend staying here, especially at the price point I think its a bargain. SALT Hotels knows how to run a property, and I would imagine they will sort out any of the minor issues...
