We had a bed delivered a few weeks ago after a whole home renovation. The installer was using an unsafe knife, cut his hand and dripped blood on the new carpet in our bedroom and down the hallway. We had to bandage him up and he went to the ER. Called the store was redirected to three different numbers, bounced around from one person to another. Finally got a verbal commit from a Sleep Number claims rep to replace the carpet, was requested to just provide the quote and they would send me a check. Just had the carpet replaced and now Sleep Number become unresponsive to email and phone calls. I'm left with the cost of replacing the carpet. Maybe a quality product, but questionable install service quality and a commitment to protecting their customers and respecting their property.
Feb 10 2022. Update. We were finally able to recover the cost of replacing the carpet. Sleep Number submitted the claim to it's insurance company who covered only 90% of the cost. So I had to go back to Sleep Number requesting the balance, no response but a check finally arrived in the mail yesterday. So they did cover the cost of the carpet replacement. But even still, it shouldn't have taken this long and I should not have had to be the primary point to negotiate this with the insurance company. They should have covered it immediately and handled the insurance claim on the backend without me having to be involved. Overall, the communication was very poor, we were left wondering how this was going to be resolved, and took two months. And I see the note below to call someone else at sleep number, how about...
Read moreI ordered the Flex 2 base for my sleep number on January 9, 2019. I was told that they could not deliver until February 9, 2019. I was disappointed that it was going to take so long, but I was patient. The week before delivery I called customer service 2-3 times to make sure the delivery was on target. On delivery day I received a call from the installer and he said he had the base and would be out later that day to install it. Excited I prepared my room, pulling off all the linen and blankets and disassembled the base I had. Two hours later I got a call from customer service informing me that the installer did not receive the base and would not be out to install it. I immediately called the store manager and he said he would call back. He called back in about 15 minutes and told me that the installer could not get the base because UPS had it locked up. He said he would call me Monday to schedule a new date for delivery. I asked couldn't they do it on Monday and the answer was he wouldn't know until he could talk to the installer on Monday. I was beyond upset and disappointed at that point. I went to Mattress Firm and asked them for a base. They quoted me one $800.00 cheaper and agreed to install it the next day. I slept somewhere else for the night and the next day they came with the base and installed it for me. I will not purchase anything from sleep number again as they are not reliable and were unable to fix the problem when it came up. I was not happy with their responses to fix the problem, just blaming UPS...
Read moreMy 78 year old Mother purchased a $3500 bed from Sleep Number from Lance in Centerville. A bit over a year later, my Mother moved and along with her came (2) Sleep number beds, her new one and an old one she had kept. The new bed didn't work, properly inflate the mattress and the remote also did not work with the bed anymore following the move. She called the Sleep number store and they referred her to National Customer Service phone line, you will get zero service from Lance at this store, he believes that's all Corporate's problem. So My Mom paid $250 to have some technician from Sleep Number show up to tell her that her base was broken and she'd need to replace it, and then he left and never got back with her to explain the next steps. A week later call made back to Sleep Number Corporate and they say the pump is what's broken. Keep in mind bed is still under warranty. I go back to the store today to speak with the Manager of how best to sort this out, and lo and behold the lack of customer service my Mom has been experiencing was staring at me in the face. No help from the Manager, Lance, he was just upset I was complaining about legitimate issues with their beds and service and he cared more about the people they were trying to sell to in the room. I left with no solution and no customer service. Be warned, if you buy anything from this store, do it knowing you're on your own as soon as you walk out the door and they already have your money!...
