The food was as good as always but the service was sub par.
The couple dining with us had to ask for their drinks twice before they were brought to the table.
They are having an endless pasta special. Two of us ordered that... the ziti frittata. 10 minutes later the waitress comes to the table to inform us that they are all out of the ziti..... ok, no big deal, it's 6 ish on a Sunday so yeah, they could run out.... like I said no big deal. We both change our order to cheese ravioli. And we ask about the drinks. Be right up....
Eventually our soup and salads arrive, still no drinks and we ask a second time.... 20 minutes now. The drink orders were pretty spectacular...... water, Sprite, a pitcher of watermelon sangria..... nothing special.
We had each taken maybe three bites. When the drinks arrived, immediately followed by the appetizers, which were immediately followed by our entrees.... so everything pretty much arrived at once.
Four of us, small table, three courses all at once equals no room on the table so every bite you take you are risking dumping over a drink..... a precious gift that you've begged for, for what seems like hours.
Remember, no ziti, ordered ravioli? Well about half way thru the entree I asked my son if he was enjoying his tortellini..... he hadn't noticed that they brought the wrong pasta.... LOL.... again, no big deal as we had both planned to have the tortellini AFTER the ravioli. We laughed about it.... someone must be having an off day.
Come time for the refills of our "endless" pasta we both very clearly and distinctly asked for the cheese ravioli.
Our refills arrive..... tortellini again.... once again no big deal, the tortellini is good. But seriously, WTF olive garden?
We had an enjoyable time in spite of the much less than stellar performance by the staff. We just made a mental note to NOT go to the Dayton mall olive garden on Sunday evening during the endless pasta specials.
The food was good but I've had better service at a pancake breakfast fundraiser staffed by junior high...
Read moreOur experience started off very rough with the manager, Jimeal being rude once we arrived at the host stand. We called yesterday, although we know you don't take reservations we just wanted to give the heads up we were coming. She told us "that don't matter" after we mentioned the phone call, Jimeal told us she won't pull our tables together for our party and the wait will be an hour and a half. We have no problem waiting, we even came earlier because that was expected. The blonde hostess in the cheetah print stated that there would be three servers needed for our party and the hostess in green asked how large the party was, the other hostess stated 24 and the hostess in green stated "yikes" right in front of us. Since we are such a large party we wanted to be as pleasant as possible but the attitude we received from the front staff made the experience less than ideal. My sister talked to the red head manager, Alex, and she was great. She apologized for the experience we had when we first walked in and said she would work on getting us sat soon. The other manager, Jeff, also checked in on us during our wait in the lobby to make sure we were doing okay. Our experience from talking to Alex and Jeff was positive all the way through the end.
Our servers Miracle and Monica were EXCEPTIONAL and our food was great! We were checked on by them often and never went with an empty glass or bread basket. We made great conversation with them as well and made up for the bad interaction when we first walked in. I have a gluten allergy and the servers were very accommodating and made sure everything was perfect! It is a long family tradition of ours to come to this restaurant for christmas and we did not want to come back next year because of the initial experience, but our servers changed our minds and if we ever come back we will have to have them as our servers again. I just wish we didn't start off in an unwelcoming...
Read moreHubby and I wanted dinner and decided on Olive Garden. Put in an online pickup order, he got the seafood Alfredo and I got the shrimp Alfredo. Got our food via the to go parking and a lady brought it out to us but she brought it to me at the passenger side which I thought was strange because aren’t you usually supposed to bring it to the driver? Anyhow I noticed that there was a decently strong smell coming from out to go bag like very fishy but didn’t think too much of it. Come to find out my husband got food poisoning from his ( I’m thinking bad scallops) and I think that’s what I smelled coming from our to go bag. I thought that it was strange that the smell was so strong, I mean I know it’s seafood but even still it shouldn’t smell that strongly. I ate mine no problem and didn’t feel sick so it had to be the scallops in his so idk if they left out the scallops too long or gave him bad scallops but he was very sick the rest of night. We’ve both had scallops before so I know it’s not an allergy or anything. Not trying to bash the place just want them and others to be aware. We probably should’ve paid more attention to the strong smell coming off the food when we first got it because both our pastas come in SEALED containers so there’s no reason the smell should’ve been that strong but that was our first clue the food wasn’t right. We love Olive Garden but probably won’t return to this location ever again cause that’s...
