ALDI — Local services in Miami Township

Nice new store, nice selection, good value. But - corporate made a MAJOR mistake by over promoting 'self-service' checkouts. The result has been that some of the employees feel that running a register is somehow beneath them. Recently one did everything they could to indicate they did NOT want to ring up my order - not speaking to me, or even putting my items in the cart. Sorry, but I've taken my business elsewhere.

Update - May 1, 2025 - decided to give it another try. Service was even WORSE! Waited five minutes at the register - FOUR PEOPLE came up; three of them gave up and went to self-checkout. I walked out without buying anything.

SHAME ON YOU - and on your corporate overlords - for obviously trying to FORCE your customers to do YOUR work at...

The nice thing about going to Aldi used to be that it was a small, niche grocery store that wasnt as crowded and didnt make things too complicated. Unfortunately with the new location the swarms are out and the aisles are filled with people with absolutely no social awareness or depth perception and shopping is a nightmare. Looking forward to 6 months from now when another new shiny thing attracts the retired crowd and the boomers and we can all resume shopping in peace. This new Aldi location is so nice! I'm not a big Aldi shopper myself. I shop there for others, and since it's the closest store to me, I'll sometimes stop by for small things. Overall, it is not my preferred grocery store. With that said, this upgraded location is great. They have several self-scan cash registers now, which in my opinion, go so much faster and is so much smoother than waiting in line for a cashier to ring you up and throw all of your items back into the cart.
