I had the pleasure of staying at the Kimpton EPIC Hotel in Brickell, Miami, and I can confidently say it was an exceptional experience from start to finish. This hotel not only meets the high standards you’d expect from the Kimpton brand but far exceeds them in every way. From the luxurious amenities to the unparalleled service, the Kimpton EPIC is a shining example of what a five-star hotel should be.
The moment I walked into the hotel, I was greeted with warmth and professionalism by the front desk staff. Check-in was seamless, and they made me feel welcomed immediately, offering a refreshing beverage while my details were finalized. The lobby itself is stunning, with sleek modern décor that sets the tone for the sophisticated yet approachable vibe of the entire property.
The rooms at the Kimpton EPIC are nothing short of spectacular. I stayed in a deluxe king room with a balcony overlooking the stunning Miami skyline and Biscayne Bay. The room was impeccably clean, spacious, and well-designed, with every detail thoughtfully curated for comfort and style. The bed was incredibly plush, offering the perfect night’s sleep after a day of exploring Miami. The bathroom was equally impressive, featuring a deep soaking tub, a rainfall shower, and luxe Atelier Bloem toiletries. The balcony was the highlight—waking up to those breathtaking views made the stay unforgettable.
The hotel’s amenities are top-tier. The rooftop pool area is an oasis in the heart of the city. With two pools surrounded by cabanas and comfortable lounge chairs, it’s the perfect spot to relax and soak up the Miami sun. The attentive pool staff ensures you’re always taken care of, whether you need a towel, sunscreen, or a refreshing cocktail from the poolside bar. The vibe is upscale yet relaxed, making it a great space to unwind.
Dining at the Kimpton EPIC is an experience in itself. I had the opportunity to enjoy dinner at the on-site restaurant, Area 31, which offers a menu highlighting fresh, locally sourced seafood. The food was exquisite—each dish beautifully presented and packed with flavor. The restaurant’s terrace provided stunning views of the bay, making the meal feel even more special. I also appreciated the daily happy hour with complimentary wine in the lobby, a signature Kimpton touch that adds to the overall hospitality experience.
The hotel’s location in Brickell is unbeatable. You’re in the heart of Miami’s financial district, surrounded by world-class dining, shopping, and entertainment options. Whether you’re heading to South Beach, Wynwood, or the Design District, everything is just a short drive or Uber away. Plus, the hotel offers convenient valet parking, making it easy to come and go.
What truly sets the Kimpton EPIC apart is the staff. Every single team member I encountered went above and beyond to ensure my stay was perfect. From the concierge who helped me plan an incredible day exploring the city to the housekeeping staff who kept my room spotless, everyone was friendly, attentive, and professional. Their genuine commitment to guest satisfaction is evident in every interaction, and it’s a big part of why I can’t wait to return.
The Kimpton EPIC also offers a range of thoughtful extras that enhance the stay, like complimentary bike rentals, a state-of-the-art fitness center, and pet-friendly accommodations. As someone who traveled with a small dog, I was thrilled by how welcoming the hotel was to pets. They even provided a cozy dog bed and bowls, which made my furry companion feel right at home.
Overall, my experience at the Kimpton EPIC Hotel in Brickell was nothing short of extraordinary. The combination of luxurious accommodations, exceptional service, and a prime location makes it a standout choice for anyone visiting Miami. Whether you’re traveling for business, leisure, or a mix of both, this hotel offers everything you need for a perfect stay. I wholeheartedly recommend the Kimpton EPIC and can’t wait to return for another five-star experience. This is Miami hospitality at its...
Read moreI'm usually not one to go online and complain as I try and make the best out of any situation, regardless of what's going on. That being said, my most recent stay at the Kimpton Epic was anything but epic. To start, we checked in around 9pm since our flight got in late and our Uber driver missed the highway exit. Javier checked us in and was very pleasant. He greeted us not only to the hotel, but also to Miami since he saw my out of state ID. The room looked great when we first got there. The view of downtown/the pool on the 16th floor was actually very nice.
The next day we went to the Whole Foods down the road for some drinks and snacks. When we went to leave, we saw what looked like dried on grease or some sort of food stain from someone's fingers near the lock. We promptly called and had this cleaned. When we returned and went to put our items in the fridge, the freezer section had either bacteria, or mildew on the edges. This was very obvious and could be seen just by opening the door, so it was obviously not cleaned after the last guests. The shower had a used bar of soap left from the previous guests as well, and the toilet had a strong odor that smelled like body odor (almost like it hadn't been cleaned in a very long time). We called the front desk about this too, and they sent someone up who just sprayed some sort of air freshener all around the room - on the floor, on the walls, on the bed , while we had open food containers on the table, so we had to quickly cover our food so it wouldn't get sprayed. When the employee went to leave, we asked him to get the bathroom, since that was our main reason for calling and the only place he didn't get. He did one spray on the sink, then virtually ran out of the room before we could say anything else.
The following day we left, then came back to see housekeeping had made up the room. When we went to bed that night, my partner pulled back the covers and there was an old blood stain on the sheets. You could tell it was old and dried on, then the sheets were washed and reused. I called the front desk about this and they sent up some sheets (brought by the same person who almost sprayed our food) and literally tossed the sheets to me then ran away again. I called the front desk and asked about changing rooms since we've had soo many issues, and they said they had no additional rooms available. I asked them to let me know if that changed, but they never said anything further.
The following day our air conditioner malfunctioned and was leaking water into our room. Luckily this was repaired promptly and without issue. The personal mirror in the bathroom had cracks around the perimeter, and the nightstand had numerous scuff marks and scratches. Neither of these were an issue, but worth noting just incase the hotel tried to charge me for "damages" after we checked out. Luckily they didn't.
Speaking of the check-out process, the lady at the front was very nice, but when she asked about how our stay was, I told her about all the issues, and emphasized the blood stained sheets. She replied "I'm sorry that happened. Here's your receipt, have a good day" in a very monotone, "copy-and-paste" response type of way, clearly showing she didn't care.
Now, all that being said, the staff was courteous, issues were handled promptly, and the breakfast we had at Area 31 was absolutely delicious. If I ever visit Miami again, I will definitely stay elsewhere, especially since they didn't seem to care at all that they were using old...
Read moreI've stayed in various luxury hotels, but this is one of the best. A lot of luxury hotels, usually the ones that have been around for awhile, start cutting corners on details, service, cleanliness, etc. This hotel cuts no corners.
I was here for a small event. The hotel manager (forgive me, he was the man in charge, but I don't know his title), Eric, took time to personally greet us, serve drinks during the hotel happy hour, and even spoke at our event.
It's clear to me he really cares about delivering a quality guest experience and that translates well across the staff.
Upon entering the hotel, even the smell felt luxurious! Not like stale hotel air freshener. There was a gorgeous Christmas tree, a chalet, and other creative decor. There's also an art display on the 16th floor that features local artists, but sadly I ran out of energy before I could check it out.
The rooms were immaculate. I like to check certain things to see how detail oriented the staff is - like the trim along the walls behind the doors... especially in the bathroom where the toilet is, the toilet paper triangle fold, the windows, etc. Haha, I feel like some housekeepers forget how much dirt you can see when sitting on a toilet, but the ones at Kimpton seem to realize you've got to clean all corners and baseboards.
View - stunning 🤩 Location - right in Brickell on the bay! And just feet away from a Whole Paycheck (foods). 🥳 Beds - comfortable 😌 Design - serene and tasteful 🧐 Amenities - A+ gorgeous pools, but wish there were a hot tub. If there is, I never found it. 😎 Service - Excellent. Needed extra fridge, they brought one. Had a problem with valet service, they corrected it (valet service is a separate company I guess) when the valet manager wouldn't. If you forget something, they have it there if you call the desk. 😁
For our small event, we had it catered by the hotel. Food was fresh and delicious. Wonderful staff. Nice space, very modern. Thought it was weird and a little tacky though that you have to pay extra if you want to have a custom playlist on the room speakers instead of the weird stock hotel music. I'm not sure how their audio is setup, but I'm guessing maybe it costs extra because they'd have someone on staff managing the event audio. It was a small room and small event, so in my mind...I feel like just having access to a simple aux cable connected to someone's phone or computer would have done an adequate job. This isn't 1992, after all. 🙃
Also thought this was interesting - they have a partnership with the women's clothing store Anthropologie. You can borrow clothes from them, but you have to bring them back or you've bought them. 🤯
Anyway, if you're going to splurge on a hotel in Miami, this would be where to do it. 💯 I'm pretty sure that for a luxury hotel in Miami, it's actually rather reasonably priced. Some hotels down there run $499/night easy. This was quite a bit less expensive.
I'd definitely stay in this hotel again in the future. 👍👍👍👍👍
Eric, thank you so much for your hospitality (and that of your staff) during our stay for the Sisterhood event. I know we asked you some tough questions at the end of your talk, but that's just par for the course - not to put you on the spot! Hope you enjoy your trip to the great...
