THE DINING SYSTEM IS A DISASTER HERE.
I've been to this theater twice in the last three weeks. My family and I were going to start going weekly for family movie night. I personally believe their food is really good and properly priced. The theaters are nice and comfortable. I'm a family of 7, so all-in-all we were planning to spend over $200 a week at this venue...and now we probably won't be going back for at least a year.
Notes from First visit: Go early, park in the correct garage, order food via the website BEFORE the movie starts
Each seat has a QR code that you scan on your phone to order food. Our first visit I tried to order myself a burger, sub the side for a salad, and a drink. SIMPLE. The system is hot garbage.
First, I had several issues with the page resetting and then not knowing my movie, theater, seat, etc. Then at checkout when I was paying, I would get an error. The errors are SUPER CRYPTIC and DO NOT HELP YOU AT ALL. Example: "501: One or more concessions in your cart cannot be ordered at this time". Rather than have a little red (!) pop up next to the aspect of the order you need to change. When I asked for help, the waiter (nice guy) told me I had to go order from the kiosk downstairs (in the middle of my movie). Instead, I had to randomly adjust my order for 10min before it went through. PLAYING A GUESSING GAME TO SEE WHAT WASN'T WORKING. Missed 10min of the movie EASILY.
Second Visit: This time I arrived 15min early. I made myself a rewards account because I figured the first time was a fluke and I would keep coming back. (I was wrong) I knew my hungry family would struggle with the app, so I asked everyone what they wanted and built my order. As I entered the checkout page about to pay for 4 dishes and 4 drinks—another error popped up. Example: "321: Your concessions exceeds the limit." It does NOT tell you what the limit IS or how to fix the issue.
Since I was early, I went straight downstairs to order from the kiosk like they told me to the first time. I knew what everyone wanted PER SEAT. As I'm ordering the man behind the counter tells me that he needs my whole order BEFORE I tell him seat numbers. When I'm done he scans my tickets. The system DID NOT separate my order per seat it bunched the order for seats C7-C11. (which is exactly what I was trying to do on my phone in the first place)
Then I asked about how to link my order to my rewards account. He told me his computer couldn't do it and I'd have to come down after with my receipt and talk to the manager. Strike 3. (At this point I wouldn't have written this review)
BUT THEN:
When the food finally came an hour later (fine) a man showed up mid-movie in the dark and dropped a giant bag with all our orders on my brother. Not me. Not my seat. My brother. To say he "tossed" it on my brother wouldn't be an exaggeration. Now we had to figure out WHO ORDERED WHAT IN THE DARK WITHOUT TALKING. Easily missed another 8-10min of the movie. AND they didn't even bring my fiance's dish. They forgot it altogether. They didn't check. They didn't make sure everyone got what was on the receipt. They didn’t drop off a dish per seat. They tossed a bag of food on us and walked away in the dark.
UNACCEPTABLE.
I have had many movie dining experiences. I have NEVER had any as awful as this theater. The staff is nice--though probably understaffed. The food is delicious. But the SYSTEM is garbage.
To the owner: Please fly to LA and try Alamo Drafthouse Cinema. The have zero of these issues. Their staff are trained to crouch down respectfully during the movie as they are delivering food and drink. They also know exactly which chair ordered what. In fact, I believe that you order from the staff directly like at a restaurant. They manage to do all of that without disturbing the film whatsoever.
I wanted to love Silverspot, but the place runs like a tornado. Seems like a bunch of well meaning people untrained and trapped in a system that is practically useless. I would love to see them improve, but won't be back for a...

(Previous review 5 years prior) This is a cool spot! I actually had no idea that a movie theater existed here I only found it by searching cinemas on Waze. This is THE PLACE to go to watch your new favorite movies on the big screen!!
This place is huge! It resides kind of across the street from Whole Foods downtown Miami. While I never knew this they actually have locations in NC and OH as well..
I bought my ticket through Fandango but they have an app 'Silverspot' you should just go ahead and download it because guess what... You can go straight and get comfortable in the leather seats because they do ordering through the app. Trust me it works I tried it. It's best to go ahead and set up your Spot Rewards account and add your preferred debit or credit card to the app so that ordering is a breeze. It can get dicey if you are trying to set this up in the dark so don't be like me and set it up now. They also have a full bar and wine selection so turn up!!
You don't have to use the app if you don't want either you can go stand at concession but that's lame join 2019 and do it the easy way. Plus get points pretty much instantly on the app. They have kiosks on the first floor to do tickets which I guess is the virtual box office I dont know because I didn't use them but I saw others using them.
You can take the elevators up to the floor your theater is on or take the escalators I thought it was pretty cool to take those vs the elevators anyway. The bathrooms are huge but clean and actually have pretty good functional automatic soap dispensers and Dyson airblades or regular paper towels so that's a plus.
If you are looking to save some money try them on a Tuesday they sell what's called a Terrific Tuesday special ticket. Park across the street at MET 3 Parking garage for just $8 for 4 hours with validation just make sure to ask them to validate your ticket. Be sure to print your ticket when you park and take it in with you.
I dunno about you but I'll definitely be back here and bringing my friends and family...
Read moreMy company recently held our holiday event at Silverspot cinema and it was disappointing to put lightly. We were met with multiple issues and problems once we arrived. The theater was not ready at the scheduled time of 7:00pm, forcing our staff to wait to be seated. The Silverspot staff were completely at a loss on our event, and it was clear that there was minimal to no preparation for our arrival.
Once inside the theater, the air conditioning was not working, even after asking multiple Silverspot staff to turn it on; it remained uncomfortably hot the entire time we were there. In addition, the food that was ordered was not ready until later on in the event. There were only two types of sodas, neither of which were labeled, and we even had to ask for water. At $5.25 a person for drinks. this was ridiculous. We also requested for the left over food to be packaged, but we never received that either.
We had the theater rented for three hours but were asked to leave at 9:30pm due to a Godzilla showing at 10:00pm. We had to ask for an extension of time, even though we had originally rented the theater for those three hours and weren't able to fully enjoy them since we were let in closer to 7:30pm. From 9:30pm to 10:00pm, when the movie was over, the theater remained dark, and the commercials kept playing in the background as we conducted our gift exchange.
The manager was helping us during this time and confirmed how ill prepared Silverspot was for our company party. He guaranteed someone would be reaching out to rectify this issue, but no one did, we had to reach out. They refunded us less than a half hour, when we really lost an hour of our time due to their sloppiness.
The icing on the cake is that they stopped communicating with us when we expressed that we were not happy with the outcome. Disappointing to the max.
*Since this post was made the General Manager reached out to me to make it right. I am extremely happy with the proposed resolution! Hopefully, I'll be updating to 5 stars after it's all been rectified!
**I’m truly at a loss for words regarding my recent experience with Silverspot. After reaching out to them to address the unfortunate situation we encountered back in December, I hoped for a resolution. However, instead of upholding their previous commitments, I was informed that the manager who had initially assisted me no longer works there, and no records of our communication could be found. This experience only highlights the disorganization within their organization. Despite providing all the relevant emails and documentation, I was met with a firm refusal, as they claimed that nothing had been approved. While the event director I communicated with was courteous, it was clear that the decision-makers lacked any genuine interest in rectifying the situation. Overall, my experience with Silverspot has been deeply disappointing. I would strongly advise others to consider alternative options, as this establishment seems to lack the necessary standards for customer service. DO NOT BOOK...
