Whatever you do, do not move into this building. Last August I moved into a 3 bedroom apartment after spending 1.5 in a one bedroom and it was a disaster from the first day of my lease. The first day I noticed an odd musty/smokey smell coming from the entry which flag to management but did not hear back from them with any urgency. That evening my smoke/carbon monoxide detectors went off with no clear cause. I immediately called the 24/7 maintenance line and went down to the front desk to talk to the concierge. He initially advised we take them off the wall (a violation of our lease and against Florida law) before calling the property manager who told him it was his call on if maintenance needed to come out. With no expertise on the matter he deemed it unnecessary so I spent the next several hours calling and texting the maintenance staff because I was concerned they had been going off due to a carbon monoxide which is deadly. Finally someone came to the unit to investigate and determined we had faulty smoke/carbon monoxide detectors. Under Florida law landlords are required to ensure there are working smoke detectors in the unit at the start of a new tenancy so there’s no reason we should have had a bad smoke detector in the master bedroom. The next day I received a call from the property manager, Jessica, who said staff did not handle the issue properly and anything with the smoke/carbon monoxide detectors needed to be handled with extreme urgency. This was odd because the doorman had said he spoke with her the previous night and she left the decision up to him. This poor level of service and communication between the concierge team and management unfortunately became the standard for the remainder of our lease. At one point we had issues with our AC not working properly and we had to submit 4 work orders over the course of over month for them to fix. During this time frame we had our two largest electricity bills from the system running constantly but being unable to cool the unit. The first two times they tried telling us that Nest thermostats need to be reset weekly if you have them on a schedule which makes absolutely no sense.
We also had consistent issues with our downstairs neighbors blasting music well past midnight which management failed to properly address for the entirety of our lease. In the 8 months of our lease we had to call in 8 noise complaints against our downstairs neighbors. When it became clear management was not addressing the issue properly, I began videotaping the noise and Jessica had the audacity to call me and say that I was in the wrong and should not be documenting these issues and that the front desk should be handling it despite admitting that they had failed to do so up to that point. She was so out of the loop about issues going on the building she manages it was shocking. Apparently the front desk hadn’t properly documented many of the prior issues which isn’t shocking because when I did email Jessica and her team it would take 3-4 emails to get them to even acknowledge my complaint. Either way we were assured that they would address the issue. Of course they did not and the noise issues from our downstairs neighbors continued up through our last week in the building when there was another incident not properly documented by the front desk. They even admitted after giving the unit two lease violations they decided to give them a break and only giving the unit a warning on a night they were blasting music until 12:30 at night because “every tennant has a right to enjoy their space.” If you want to live in a building where management feels every tenant has the right to blast music late into the night maybe Muze is for you.
It’s worth noting that all the issues started occurring when there was a change in management. It’s sad that Jessica and her team have so poorly managed the building because it has so much to offer but there’s no way I would recommend anyone move in with the current management...
Read moreI want to share with the future residents of this building. 4 months have passed since the date of moving to Muze at Met. The location is very good, everything is nearby (Park, CVS, Whole Foods), the apartments are well renovated) these are all good moments in Muze. I put one star for the delivery of parcels from Amazon, UPS and other companies, it's just terrible, knowing that the parcel will come, my mood deteriorates, since the search for my parcel can take from 10 minutes or more, it resembles some kind of Escape room. The MUZE manager should have allocated a larger room for the Locker room. The worst thing about this is that you often don't find your parcel, anyone can get them. Another moment gets another star is the elevator, the algorithm of the elevator is surprising, very often you have to wait for the elevator for 5-10 minutes. Considering that there are 4 elevators. Turning off the heating of the pool, the building management decided that it was not necessary for the residents. And the water in their opinion in the pool is excellent. Residents used to enjoy warm water more often, and it is impossible to do this for two months. And the most terrible moment is that today the Valet guy delivered the car to us and we found that the car was robbed in the garage, the valet guy simply did not close the car and very expensive things (glasses, sunglasses and a bag) were stolen from the car. $120 Valet this price includes waiting for a car for about 30 minutes and it's great if your car is served to you and not another, theft in the car and also there are cases the car may have scratches. I recommend new residents to consider another place of residence, the cost of apartments has increased by $ 600...
Read moreI have been living at Muze at Met for a few months and loving it!
Michael Benzel was my point of contact for the viewing, lease paperwork, moving-in logistics, etc. He's been professional, diligent, and genuine. Coming from NYC, where finding, applying, and leasing an apartment is stressful and shady, I found securing an apartment at Muze to be a transparent and a well-organized process that took no time.
All within a block or two, you have the Metro Mover (a free and clean above-ground subway with security aboard), Whole Foods, CVS Pharmacy, Starbucks, Silverspot Cinema, and Bayfront Park (waterfront pedestrian paths). There's also scattering of banks, local bars, cafes, and restaurants. Living in this pocket of Downtown, you're a stone's throw from vibrant and bustling Brickell but can enjoy the quieter setting and lower price point by going just over the bridge.
All the units I've seen at Muze are beautiful and well-designed – modern, spacious, clean, bright, and homey. They have thoughtful touches like moveable kitchen islands, USB wall outlets, light-up vanity mirrors, floor-to-ceiling windows, and covered private balconies that are hurricane-proof. These are wonderful unexpected bonuses when you're just hoping for an oven, full-sized fridge, dishwasher, and a coveted in-unit laundry.
Between the app-based valet for garage parking, the gorgeous tropical landscape of the pool deck and outdoor lounge, the state-of-the-art gym + spa, and the Amazon package room, you'll feel like you're living a high life.
As a young single female, I feel safe and at home at Muze at Met. I'd recommend this building to anyone looking in or around this...
