Title: A Five-Star Culinary Experience at Cantina La Veinte

Review:

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Cantina La Veinte, located at the iconic W Miami, and I must say, it was an extraordinary experience that left me in awe. From the moment I stepped foot into the restaurant, I was greeted with warm smiles and a vibrant atmosphere that set the tone for the evening.

The first thing that struck me was the stunning interior design. The combination of modern elements with traditional Mexican accents created a visually captivating space that was both elegant and inviting. The attention to detail was evident in every corner, from the beautifully handcrafted furniture to the intricate artwork adorning the walls.

Now, let's talk about the food. The menu at Cantina La Veinte is a culinary journey through the flavors of Mexico, and every bite was a revelation. The chefs masterfully blend traditional recipes with innovative techniques, resulting in dishes that are both familiar and exciting. Each plate was a work of art, beautifully presented and bursting with vibrant colors and flavors.

One standout dish was the guacamole, prepared tableside with fresh avocados, tomatoes, onions, and a hint of lime. It was simply the best guacamole I have ever tasted, and I couldn't resist ordering a second serving. The ceviche was another highlight, with its delicate balance of tangy citrus and fresh seafood. And let's not forget about the mouthwatering tacos, bursting with succulent meats and topped with homemade salsas and garnishes.

The service at Cantina La Veinte was impeccable. The staff was knowledgeable, attentive, and went above and beyond to ensure that every need was met. From recommending the perfect wine pairing to accommodating dietary restrictions, they truly made us feel like valued guests.

To complement the exceptional food and service, Cantina La Veinte boasts an extensive selection of tequilas and mezcal. The knowledgeable bartenders are more than happy to guide you through the options, helping you discover new favorites or crafting a unique cocktail tailored to your preferences.

In conclusion, Cantina La Veinte at the W Miami is a culinary gem that should not be missed. The combination of exquisite food, impeccable service, and a vibrant atmosphere creates a dining experience that is truly unforgettable. Whether you're a fan of Mexican cuisine or simply looking for a memorable night out, I highly recommend Cantina La Veinte. It's a five-star experience that will leave you...

Intimidating Management, Threats, and Horrible Service—Never Going Back.

My experience at Cantina La Veinte was not only disappointing but genuinely frightening. What started as a frustrating dining experience quickly escalated into something I never expected from any restaurant.

Our evening began with an extremely inattentive waitress. After placing our order, we waited for over 45 minutes without a single update. When I finally asked her politely about the delay, she promised to check with the kitchen but then disappeared for another 20 minutes. During this entire time, there was no sense of urgency or care. My friend’s order was also completely wrong—they gave him salmon instead of the red snapper he ordered. He doesn’t eat salmon, and they never even noticed or bothered to offer a solution. He ended up sharing his wife’s meal, which was beyond unacceptable.

I asked to speak with the manager, hoping to resolve things calmly. When the manager finally arrived after another long wait, they offered an insincere apology and no real effort to fix the situation. At this point, our table remained calm, and we never raised our voices above room level. But then things took a dark turn.

When the bill came, we noticed a significant service charge despite the poor service. I respectfully asked if the charge could be adjusted given everything that had gone wrong. Instead of addressing the issue professionally, a second manager stormed over, slammed their hand on the table, and aggressively threatened us, saying, “If you leave a bad review, just watch what will happen.” His tone and demeanor were extremely hostile, and we all felt genuinely threatened. It was as if he was trying to intimidate us into staying quiet.

To make matters worse, the manager escalated the situation by calling security, despite none of us ever raising our voices or being confrontational. This was completely unnecessary and felt like an attempt to humiliate us in front of the other diners. The scene they caused was embarrassing, and the situation left us shaken.

This entire experience was beyond unacceptable. From the wrong orders to the cold food, to being threatened by management and having security called on us for no reason—it was like nothing I’ve ever experienced in a restaurant. I will never return to Cantina La Veinte, and I strongly advise others to stay away. No one should have to endure such unprofessional, threatening behavior from a place that’s supposed to provide a pleasant...

Had made previous reservations requesting to have a water view that was completely ignored. At the beginning they found a spot for us near the bar and when we asked to be moved close to water view they had the nerves to direct us to the back patio area which is not nice at all and once again ignoring the previous request and quite honestly we felt insulted so for sure we refuse the spot and at that point we were ready to leave but we were there with a family member who had recommended us the place for the nice atmosphere wich undoubtedly was spectacular. Finally they made it seem like it was such a huge task to find us spot claiming they had no spots available when it was clearly three tables busy only at that time near the front. Food delivery was promptly and presentation beautiful. The flavors were different but not bad. Having traveled around the world we know all the so called Mexican restaurants give their own personal twist to the recipes so we enjoyed the flavors. Margaritas were very good. At the end we had fun. We did have the mariachi experience a girl who takes pictures and is really sweet. We come to Miami Beach all the time and we wanted to get out of the area and experienced some other spots. Now is it a place we would be coming back to probably not in many year as the area has so many other options to offer. Also we know the food is expensive and the portions are average to an upscale restaurant in Charleston we knew that prior making reservations so not a shock to us. However for a $350 plus dollar experience I am not sure is quite worth it. This is not including all of us having desserts and alcoholic beverages. That could easily mean $250 per person which it would be consider to be a price spend at an upscale restaurant in Vegas. For Mexican Food eh not...

We were in town for a CrossFit competition and as usual, trying to seek out good Mexican food. A Google search brought us to Cantina La Veinte. Can't really say it's a trad "Mexican" restaurant but the food seems mostly Mexican-inspired. I'd call it more of a Mexican-international fusion. The place is gorgeous and the service is very upscale. Margaritas were good but expensive and the food was 99% great. Right up until the dessert. We ordered the tres leches cake. I LOVE tres leches! This was beautiful but NOT tres leches cake. Yes, it was cake sitting in a tres leches mix but the cake was dry! When I asked the server about it, he admitted that they don't add the milk to the cake until you order. Boo! Didn't get past the first bite. UGH! Otherwise, the place is beautiful and well worth the price. They also play a very eclectic mix of music videos on two huge screens. For the most part we really enjoyed them. Unfortunately, it's a rather loud environment, so intimate conversation isn't easy. And of course, you do have to deal with the usual shallow, self-centered Miami crowd but that's kind of a given, I guess.
