I apologize but I cannot leave a dishonest review.
I was very appreciative of the staff when my boyfriend and I arrived with our two small dogs. We had fallen on some MAJOR dark times when a family member we’d been living with kicked us out for not saving money fast enough to move out, even though we had no where to go, which essentially left us homeless in the blink of an eye. We had just given back our lease-rental car too, and we had two dogs, and now a floating 1-bedroom’s worth that even the “XL-Pet-Friendly Uber” hardly wanted to take on to get us to the hotel. So with that being said, I can’t express how grateful I am that this hotel’s staff & the manager/owner were so considerate and patient with us, granting us the temporary roof over our heads we desperately needed. Additionally, they were kind but firm with us as we desperately battled to find the money each morning to pay for another day.
I believe we stayed for 3, maybe 4 days (as this was a year ago, and I’m editing it now after quite a long period of time). This was during a time in Utah, where we like to call the weather “bipolar,” as during the day it was quite hot, but as soon as the sun went down, it was mercilessly cold. And the AC did not work. And although they were accommodating, they didn’t warn us beforehand. (However, I’m not sure that it worked in any of the rooms). I had and have no room to judge as I was ecstatic to have a roof, bed & shower 🙏🏽
I have to mention, that when we entered our room, there was a foul smell that could only be smelled at certain times in certain spots of the room that we just couldn’t figure out what or where it was coming from. It wasn’t until the final day we left that we realized it was cat urine, coming from underneath one of the beds. That’s just one of those smells that is undeniably and unequivocally unpleasant and unforgettable if you’ve ever owned one or been around one. On the bright side, they’re pet friendly; unbelievably rare in the Salt Lake Valley. There are no deposits; even more rare, and I may be wrong or things may have changed between now and then.. but find yourself in a rough spot and need somewhere to be left alone and you know you’re good for it, or you’re traveling on a dime and you just need the basics without a housekeeper harrasing you every morning at 8am demanding payment or get out (cough, cough. La Quintacough). Also, no fridge in our room. This made planning meals difficult, as anything fresh would go bad, especially with no AC either broken or intentionally off. We had to leave the door open every day. In that heat the urine smell & no air flow it became a putrid sauna. I couldn’t fully open the door with my dogs who would’ve ran out to play, so I had to pile my belongings up enough to where the dogs couldn’t get out—it was just, a lot.
The room did have a small closet area with hangers, which was nice to be able to hang some of my nicer clothes up. We did get a noise complaint on our very first night just from opening and closing our massive heavy suitcases on the floor over and over trying our hardest to somewhat organize and we were on the second floor. We were woken up in the middle of the night by a loud banging on the door from one of the staff members telling us to get out. Luckily she took one look at what tidiness we were able to muster, saw my partner and I in bed with the dogs in the kennel, and she told us she would allow us to stay as long as we kept quiet. So from that day forward we were forced to put all our blankets on the ground just in case the dogs or suitcases or our footsteps made a peep. So all in all made most of our belongings pretty dirty. I’m sure most people who stay here won’t have the same experiences we did because I don’t imagine many people would be in the situation we found ourselves at that time. I apologize for the review, I just wanted to share my experiences so that anyone staying here can plan in advance—make sure you have your ID and stay quiet and respectful and communicate with the staff about payments and you will...
Read moreOh my goodness where do I begin!? Well for starters the entire property looks like KOA campground that has been abandoned for about 6 or 7 decades, and the condition of the pool reflects that same attraction. There is graffiti on about every wall and as I ascended the stairs to where my magical room was I was greeted by a massive pile of human feces right outside of my motel room. However the fun has not even begun yet. Inside of this deluxe Queen suite was, well, it would actually be easier to name the items that were not part of this room, such as a television, or a phone, or a working air conditioner, and there was one light bulb for the entire room and zero lamp shades for all four of the lamps. And that one ever so vital light bulb was broken in the picture which required a little bit of jiggling, and precise angle in order to make the connection so the light would illuminate. The windows had some sort of Jimmy club to secure them, which only tells me that they have had issues with the local hobos breaking in through the windows. And while on the topic of these hobos, there were plenty of them and they thoroughly enjoyed showing off their talents and skills of chasing the magic dragon on their little pieces of tin foil right out and the sidewalks that we used to get to our room-mind you this is in the middle of the day, and the secrecy and privacy of nightfall was not enough is an incentive for them to hold off on their crippling addiction. I went to the office and requested a different room I didn't so much mind the feces or the prison style window securities, but I could not be without air conditioning because it was extremely hot that day and you can only imagine the smells that had been baking in some rain for God knows how long in that musty, mold spore-ridden room. I was then moved to another room which had the same qualities and amenities as the first room and I proceeded back to the office and apologized but stated that I was not able to stay at their property overnight for safety and health and pride concerns. That was over a week ago and they are still fighting me about refunding me for the night that I did not stay at their property because they told me they had no other rooms available. They are correct, they actually have zero rooms available to rent anybody, because if the city or the health department were to come in and take one quick look around, the property would be shut down and condemned and taped off requiring hazmat suits only in order to enter the property. I would not even wish my worst enemy to have to stay at a property such as the econo Lodge midvale... Well, maybe I'd get a kick out of putting Donald Trump in one of those rooms for the night, but he is so incredibly incompetent and stupid that I don't think that he would notice or think that there was anything wrong with the property at all! I can only imagine the spin that he and fox "news" entertainment would put on his stay at the econo Lodge lol! I can hear them now, "it was the most beautiful, luxurious motel room I've ever stayed in" lol! I do apologize for getting political on you, however recalling all that I went through with this motel and I'm STILL going through got me all riled up and then I was on a roll lol! But other than these small discrepancies, the property is...
Read moreAustin was very helpful and mindful to my needs and made every accommodation possible at first.. I thoroughly enjoyed stay for approximately 1 week. Then his help was limited as with the accommodations. He became very . Putative if I needed to have an extension with late check out of 2 p.m. and would not allow me 2 pay for 4-day stay at that time. It is as though the accommodations became more limited the longer I stayed and with the more money paid. I am very despondent as I vacated due to that and it caused me enormous hardship in addition to it I was already experiencing. He mentioned I can think corporate for that because of the ratings being low can poor reviews. He would undo the night clerks permission to allow me to have it to check out and renew my 4-day stay and gave me 15 minutes notice to vacate. I have no it doesn't make sense to me cuz it could be 7 hours to vacate that motel room I've been in for almost 10 days or so as I always knew relocating and being elderly and disabled had enough hardship from a relocation I did not expect in the first place. So I left motel room at 7 p.m. they did not have some me throughout the time as a noticeable 11:15 and the time I checked out at 7 p.m. but it seems irrational to me. I could have paid for days at 1:30 p.m. or latest by at 2 p.m. But didn't get a chance to? Seems irrational! Austin nice enough, however he's inappropriate as he degraded me in front of other guests at the counter as he said he should have evicted me but chose not to because the amount of property I have in my room. He said it not once bit 3 times so others could hear. Strange rationalization to me. Policy? To bounce an existing client with a 15 minute notice? One that had a late check outSo I rented another motel clear across town far away from all my resources. It could have been an extended stay there but not with that treatment. Austin needs to look at all the factors before doing something so seriously and severely damaging. I enjoyed my stay the first 2 days but boy the ending was hard. A young sweet good samaritan let me sleep in his car with my cat when we left so late and I did not have time to make arrangements for us to go anywhere else. In addition, Austin, when a customer calls to inquire about their personal property that is very valuable, or useful and even extremely necessary and they ask you to check on it's finding with other employees, and you blatantly, outright refuse, is a wrongful and unlawfully withholding as a business and your responsibility to at minimum make a report and make effort to locate the valuable property due to the hasty actions you again demonstrated by having me 86'd by 8:00 p.m. when I was completely out of my room as you could clearly see, exception to my grandma Kitty, Missi, who I left inside intentionally because of her extreme fear, stress and unwanted anxiety by 7 p.m. Now we are both sick. Her sneezing and As a result I have severe pneumonia today. Thanks Motel 6 in Midvale. And my despondent curiosity about was all that really necessary? Do you even have any idea what you have cost me? Any idea how much money made me lose as a result how's your Hasty, malicious and undeserved...
