This is my family's favorite breakfast spot, so this weekend we decided to try them for dinner. BIGGEST MISTAKE EVER!!! To start, it took 35 minutes before our sever took our order once seated. My 5 year old was hungry so we asked for his waffle to be sent out at the same time as our appetizer. We waited and waited and waited. After an hour, we then noticed that we were the only original people still in the dining room. People who came after us placed their orders and received their food while we still sat there.
Fifty minutes after ordering, our server appeared with some of our order and then delivered it to the wrong table. The people told her it wasn't theirs and she wondered around the dining room asking people if it was their order. She finally made it to us with our appetizer and entrees. My son's waffle was missing. The onion rings were ice cold, our steaks were cold, our baked potatoes were cold. After 15 minutes, she finally brought our sons waffle. We asked for our food to be fixed because it was cold. She took our plates. We then received our fixed plates. My sons waffle was so cold the butter wouldn't melt and it was soggy from the strawberries. My steak was no longer medium, but well done with a grainy texture. The fried shrimp was still cold. The butter and cheese wouldn't melt because the baked potato was the same temperature still. The onion rings were never fixed. We only ate a couple of bites of food.
When our server finally came around she delivered our check. She never asked us how our food was or if we needed anything. When we went to pay, she checked us out and never apologized for the service or asked if we enjoyed our food. I would assume when customers don't hardly eat any of their food that would be a clue something is wrong! We were charged nearly $70 dollars for this dinner, which we didn't eat, and her service.
She then stood there and stared us down while signing our receipt to see what her tip amount was! We left the Buzz Inn after being hungry for 2.5 hours and drove through Taco Bell and had a better experience. That is saying something! We won't be back. It's too bad because it was our favorite...
Read moreThe food at the Monroe, WA Buzz Inn is absolutely fantastic! I’m a repeat customer who leaves fulfilled and satisfied every time with our meal. Only complaint is the entrance into the facility is poorly set up, especially during busier times. You are left standing at the front door waiting to be seated. It’s a small area cut off by the pull tab machines they have by the stairs that go up to the bar seating area. It blocks off so much space that could be used for staff as they are weaving in and out of people crammed at the front door waiting to be seated, as the waitress is trying to deliver meals or drinks. I say less than 5 feet from pull tab machines and the front door entry. You’ve got 6 people standing there who aren’t even together, this is very uncomfortable as the waitress moves through the crowded area. And one other question? Why do you have customers order from the front cashier/waiting area, and make everyone stand in line behind them in this small space described above, and then still have them waiting for seating standing there after they are done? Is this easier for the staff or is it better for the customers? Who really is benefitting from doing things this way? No one, It sucks! Maybe it’s time to rearrange you lobby area and make it more user friendly for staff and customers. Just a thought. Move the pull tab machines away from the front cashier area and walkway. Would make a world of difference. Take out those two tables by the bathrooms that no one sits at,except staff when doing silverware, and move the pull tab machines over there. You could fit in another seating area by where the pull tab machines are currently, for a two seater bench dinning...
Read moreI used to come here frequently over the years and used to really love the warm and cozy vibe (doubly so when the weather outside is bad)
My biggest pet peeve is when you go to a fine restaurant, and it's like a mausoleum inside. Good food should be joyful. There should be laughter and chatter, not people sitting there like they're in a funeral-parlor waiting room. And I don’t want to hear the specials. If they're so special, put 'em on the menu. A good restaurant is like a vacation; it transports you, and it becomes a lot more than just about the food.
A great restaurant though is one that just makes you feel like you're not sure whether you went out or you came home and confuses you. If it can do both of those things at the same time, you're hooked. That’s what this place used to be. Good food, decent prices, great service and great coffee and a selection of creamers. The numerous televisions are strategically placed to make this an ideal spot to watch “ the big game” and a fun and warm attitude exhibited by both staff and patrons alike
Somewhere along the way they lost a step. Pick your cliché , “the economic downturn, “, multiple repeated negative attitudes”, “short staffed” etc. but the food and service , just isn’t the same. Don’t get me wrong, it still good food at a decent value in the new” economic climate” where eggs have replaced the value of jewelry . (Coming soon rappers with egg cartons chained on their necks). Still, I yearn for what it used to be where every waitress would have been famous in Hollywood had they not been so great...
