I had the pulled pork sandwich and mac & cheese. To top my sandwich, I got coleslaw and the spicy BBQ sauce. I also sampled the BBQ beans. The pulled pork was good. It was moist, had a good smoky flavor, and there was a good amount of it on my sandwich. The bun also had a nice soft and chewy texture. The spicy BBQ sauce was thick (great for less mess/dripping) and avoided being overly sweet. It added an appropriate spice dimension to my sandwich. The coleslaw was different than what I'm used to. It has cranraisins in it which seemed weird. However, the flavor was still good. I liked the beans. They are not BBQ beans, though. They are more like charro beans you'll find at many Mexican restaurants. BBQ beans are usually a specific type of bean cooked in a sweet BBQ sauce.. sometimes with pork (ham or bacon). The Mac & cheese was a tad bland, but I liked it. It was creamy and reminiscent of the Mac & cheese at other BBQ restaurants that I've had. In fact, I had three helpings of it after all left overs were consumed. Overall, I enjoyed my meal. The restaurant had a simple, unassuming yet charming atmosphere for being food-counter style. The women that were running the show were also nice, personable, and patient.

Food: 3/5 I had the two-meat plate with two sides. I chose brisket and pulled pork for the meats, with macaroni and potato salad as the sides. The macaroni and potato salad were nothing extraordinary—fairly standard, as expected. As for the meats, the pulled pork was tender and moist but lacked juiciness. The brisket, unfortunately, was a bit of a letdown—it was slightly dry and not as tender or juicy as I’d hoped. The flavor was somewhat there, but the texture just didn’t deliver. Service: 4/5 Service was average. The waitress was kind and patient, which I appreciated, but nothing particularly stood out. Atmosphere: 4/5 I liked the layout and setup of the place. However, it was a bit too dark—improved lighting would really help enhance the ambiance. Would I recommend it? I’d recommend trying it once. It’s worth a visit, but I wouldn’t go out of my way for a return trip.

Wife and I stopped in the first time for lunch to go. We got the 2&2 deal:two meats and two sides. We also got a spicy sausage and cornbread. We chose brisket, pork, Mac&cheese and baked beans. Everything was cooked nearly to perfection, perhaps a bit dry . The meat was fairly bland and relied on the sauce for flavor and it was okay. Wife found the sauce, sausage and the beans to be too spicy and she didn’t enjoy them because of it. The beans were unique and very good as was the cornbread, the M&C typical. This was four meals worth of food because we got extra meat. I think we should have gone with the sandwiches and will try those another time. If you are COVID conscious, there wasn’t a staff mask in sight.

I am not from this state but am here for a while for work. I passed by on our way to ho play in the snow and decided to stop here gor dinner on the way home and was not disappointed as I have been with other places. The lady at the counter allowed me to try the tri tip when I asked what it was. It was really hood and juicy but really what I had been craving was the pulled pork and I was very pleased with what I got. (She let me try this too!) The meat was super juicy and almost melted in my mouth. The sandwich was big and I have left overs for lunch tomorrow.(They even provided me with a puppy boat of some scraps or Nylo would have finished it off) Potato salad was average but I'd get it again if I'm in the mood. She also gave me both the BBQ sauces, I LOVE THE SPICY BBQ! Needless to say I will be coming back while I'm around!...
