We recently relocated to the NC region and like any new resident/homeowner, there is always a need for refreshing your furniture. Sweet Dreams was a referral from our Builder Ryan. It was the first store we stopped by and Rylee greeted us in the most friendly and inviting way. My youngest daughter was with me and she was in total agreement by Rylee’s welcome. Instantly she asked what we were looking for and of course we gave the usual response, “we’re looking for furniture”. We were in the mattress area and it’s where we began. Rylee asked what were we looking for in a mattress, good, better, or best and thinking economically I went with better and she started with the Lake Norman Chill and we were in sleep heaven. After we tested that mattress, we didn’t think of another, we did in any case because we needed to make comparisons. All in all, the Lake Norman Chill did it for us. We did not place the order that very day, but the next business day, I promised that I would call and I did and placed my order. We also went back a few days later to order a set for my daughter.
Rylee’s entire demeanor brought us back to Sweet Dreams. She and her husband were friendly and conversational and she did not use any sales pressure or tactic and she showed no sign of impatience. These are all the things we look for when dealing with any form of customer service.
Fast forward to today’s delivery. To my surprise, I believe, in all the years I have had furniture deliveries, I think these two delivery persons were by far the youngest.
Michael and Preston were also friendly, engaging, and showed great care and took their time in setting up the furniture. We encountered a bit of snugness in the fitting and they tried to find ways to adjust the items. It was an absolute pleasure also dealing with them. I just moved to town from across the country. I initially contacted the team two days before my new house closed to find out if there was any way to get a mattress delivered the day my house closed. I had the absolute good fortune to get Andy on the other end of the chat, and he quickly let me know what was in stock. Andy shared that the delivery truck for Wednesday was full, but he wasn’t going to let me sleep on the floor! Andy offered to put the mattress in the back of his own truck and drop it off Wednesday afternoon.
My mattress arrived as promised on close day. But Andy was met with an unexpected twist. As I mentioned, I had just moved from out of state and it was my first day in my new house. I was stranded without transportation, as my car and my moving pod have not arrived yet. And I was having an allergic reaction to a newly prescribed medication and needed urgent medical care. Because I didn’t have any other alternative, I hesitantly asked Andy if he could possibly drop me off at the ER. Andy was a little surprised, but he immediately cleaned off the seat in his truck and drove me to the ER. And if that wasn’t enough going above and beyond - Andy sent me a text the next day to make sure I was ok and got home from the ER safely.
Once I was feeling better, I went to the Mooresville store and bought the rest of the furniture I needed, because of the genuine care and exceptional service that Andy provided. Riley helped me at the store, and she made sure that I got an expedited delivery. Finally, when my furniture arrived today, the delivery guys were awesome and they even offered to remove their shoes before bringing the furniture inside.

Read moreI honestly hate that I can't give them a 5-Star rating, I love seeing local businesses succeed and do well. I really do feel like Sweet Dreams is a good company and gives customer experience the importance it deserves. From trying out mattresses, to our son being given a certificate for graduating to a big boy bed, to the delivery of our mattress for my wife and I, everything was top notch and everyone was kind and professional. Their importance to detail like having snacks and drinks for kids is superb and patience when honestly not knowing which mattress we want was wonderful.
Where we feel like there was a failure was in the communication of what we were actually buying. My wife and I purchased a Clearance Lake Norman Chill Plush mattress. We were okay with the idea of buying a returned mattress, and were told that it was sanitized and had a new top sewn onto it. With the deal we were getting we thought why not? What was not clearly communicated is that the new mattress top was not the same top that is sold on the original bed. We came into the store twice within a couple of hours trying out the same mattress and was never told that detail. I have no idea what the new mattress top actually is, but it is for sure much hotter than the one we tried in the store. I don't know if all their clearance mattresses are the same way. I just wish there had been a little more clear communication on what was being actually purchased.
