Just checked out this morning after staying for nearly a week, and had a great experience! The rooms are large and fairly updated, (and as pictured online!) mine had a fully fenced, private patio with comfy patio furniture, it’s in an excellent location within easy walking distance of the Embarcadero, and I thought the bed was probably the most comfortable hotel mattress I’ve stayed on in awhile. I also stayed with my dog, and they were very pet friendly, with a doggy goodie bag at check in and two grassy areas for dogs to use for their needs. The A/C worked well, and so did the mini-fridge. I never bothered with the microwave or coffeemaker.
I think a couple of small tweaks would have improved my stay:
Another reviewer mentioned the water pressure and it sounds like they’re working on it, but for someone with pretty long, thick hair, washing it took aWHILE.
There isn’t much counter space in the bathroom. I think it would help if there were hooks on the wall next to the sink to hang up hand towels and maybe a little wall shelf installed above those hooks for other toiletries.
Otherwise, a great stay, and while those improvements could definitely be made, I’d still happily stay here again, especially...
Read moreHorrendous experience. I took my family to this exact hotel when it was still days inn. Its the same people and the same hotel. They just broke off from the corporate chain and went independant. With this. The quality i usually see from this establishment has diminished entirely. We ran into booking issues where we had one pricing in an email and they refused to honor it or cancel our reservation without charging us the price tag they stated was in their system. So we stayed at the time of reservation we had seen information about a continental breakfast. They had no breakfast. They have an electrical door locking mechanism and as we walk to our inconveniently placed room with all of our stuff. We find out the key isnt activated and i have to walk back down to the office to get the keys activated so i could get in to my room. It was also nice to come across a blood stained towel in the bathroom as well. As i said this is not the days inn as it once was. Its operating routines are botched at best and it should have stayed corporate because there is a significant difference in quality from days inn to harbour house. This hotel ive been going to for years has lost mg business in...
Read moreThe attention to detail is what makes the Harbor House stand out. The front desk had seasonal Fourth of July decor and staff were polite and professionally dressed. We got an accessibility room which was really spacious with a walk in shower for those who need it. The room was incredibly clean. I don’t like to be too particular about this area because I know guest room attendants work really hard but WOW, the cleanliness was worth mentioning. The room looked brand new and had zero sign of wear and tear. All the soap/shampoo/lotions dispensers were full and functioning. They had a microwave and tall fridge. (Taller than a mini) I included a photo with the little patio with chairs. I couldn’t figure out how to work the TV though, so instructions would be helpful. That was hardly an inconvenience. Next to our room we saw a dog washing station with fresh towels. Great feature for those traveling with pets. We stayed in room 108 and my husband and I had a hard time leaving our room upon check out because it was just so cozy. You guys are doing things right.
Location: 15-20 minute walk from Morro Rock and a grocery store. Just a few...
