Not enforcing mask wearing, for customers (bad) or for food preparers (worse). Trump has given people a false hope or notion that this virus is not dangerous. The customers not wearing masks were a white couple in their early 50s, another late 50 yr-old white man, and 2 Hispanic males around 50. The government just released the demographics of covid-19 cases in SLO county, reported around the 1st of October: Around 46% Hispanic, around 25% older retirees, around 15% construction/labor workers, around 10% food service/grocery/delivery workers, around 3% healthcare workers. This is obviously not important to capitalism. Of the 10 people in the restaurant, only the cashier, one other customer and myself were wearing masks, 2 of us properly. I took pictures of people/license plates. I am not a liberal; I am a concerned believer in science. I guess I'll just have to Vote, and not patron my local businesses. Terrible all around; Taco's de Mexico has good food for a fair price, but I will not get my mother/loved ones sick. IDC the percentages; science says it will not be eradicated unless we ACT Right, or until a cure/vaccine is thoroughly tested and...
Read moreWell I can’t believe it! I overlooked doing a review for Taco de Mexico in Morro Bay. I have been eating there for years, probably a decade if my memory is working. I really like their chili verde and it makes great tostadas and burritos. I just had a chili verde tostada, which is a bucket of lunch! The flour tortilla is fried into a cup shape placed in a big bowl and filled with all the goodies. I really like the green sauce on the side and then pour it on as needed during lunch! The facility is old and worn, a former KFC that did not make it in Morro Bay. There are murals on both sides of the building and across the parking lot. I like the murals too! I keep coming back again and again. The place is popular at lunch, and the wait is always worth it! You can sit at the tables inside and have a view of Morro Rock as a bonus. I like to get mine to go and sit down by the rock or one of the small parks along the embarcadero. Any way you do it this is a good lunch and a great value. Thank You Taco...
Read moreOn a CA coastal drive we arrived late to Morro Bay and were looking for an open restaurant for dinner. We came across Taco De Mexico and were pleasantly surprised.
The restaurant is unassuming but very warm and welcoming like a small town cozy local restaurant. Really Gaby, who works the front area, has a lot to do with that. She is very personable and warm and makes each customer feel welcome. She is also very helpful in information about the different menu choices and is highly efficient in her job.
We had several different items from the menu and all were very delicious. We have a vegetarian in the group and Gaby offered several choices. The vegetarian burrito was great because of the variety of ingredients including potatoes instead of rice which often has chicken broth in it. The shredded wet chicken burrito was also great and attractively served.
We wish this restaurant was near us back home it is so good. When in Morro Bay again we will be dropping by for another great...
