The California Building — Hotel in New Orleans

5 🌟 Star Rating for the California Building by Hosteeva in New Orleans Louisiana. My NOLA trip was amazing and a lot of that had to do with starting off with a great place to stay. The building was very safe, clean and had cool amenities. If you are having an extended stay and like to cook they have all the supplies available for you to make a culinary masterpiece in your unit. They have cookware , utensils, full stove and oven , toasters, microwave, coffee machine, tea pot and pots and pans galore! Full size fridge and freezer. Gorgeous window views and there is a roof top deck where you can see all the lights in NOLA lit up. There is a media game room. So plenty of things to do before even leaving your hometel. I call this concept the "Hometel" the amenities of home and the convenience of hotel style services. Customer Service picks up the phone at all times to answer your questions and help you with anything. I would highly recommend Hosteeva for your vacation or business travel needs.

Pros: Modern building with updated decor in the unit. Place was well stocked and generally has everything you would need. Was clean as well. Easy pick up/drop off location for Uber and Lyft. Definitely feels safe and in a good area. Close to nearby popular places or a small trip away by car. Customer service (from Hosteeva) picks up and tries to act quickly if any issues arise.

Cons: While there is plenty of essentials provided (paper towels, toilet paper, etc), it's generally on the really cheap and bad quality side. The toilet had an issue with clogging, but it was dealt with pretty quickly and fixed by maintenance (though they had to come twice as the first time didn't fix the issue). The layout of where units are located on each floor is a bit confusing, but not too big of an issue once you figure it out.

Overall, I would recommend staying here as I think the pros...

UPDATE: I responded to Hosteeva's survey & told them that the clothes dryer didn't work. I received a phone call from Guest Relations. They are taking 10% off my bill & are giving me a 10% discount on a future stay. They definitely are very responsive & take care of their customers. We stayed in the California Bldg. At Christmas time. The accommodations were great. 4 bedrooms, 2 baths. Stocked with everything you would need. The showers were weird & left a lot to be desired. Our clothes dryer did not work & we were stuck with wet clothes. The location is great, the building was clean. The streets are very noisy, but it is a city. We stayed on the 2nd floor. Only 1 bedroom has windows, with light filtering shades. The other 3 bedrooms had no windows & were very dark. All in all, I would stay there...
