I think I came at a bad time for them.
The Viet Coffee was so good I had to order another but it was way too sweet. I didn't have the heart to tell them. Considering the cost to make this coffee, it is pretty high, so they should be consistent at least for taste.
Man, that first one tickled my tastebuds but now I fear it will never be the same. Like a bad relationship rearing it's second go around. I'm leary.
They had hiccups with orders, so I was in a que. I had a meeting at 1pm but I had time but not a lot. I didn't bother them, I got what was going on by watching.
When called for my order I did think my order was wrong, also thought I had another bag...lol as I was going to look at another bag when I was told I only had one bag. Well, it said tofu on the one she gave me...lol that was not my order but I left with it.
Got called back in before I got to my vehicle, wrong order given to me.
I think the issue with Uber and all those delivery/pickup services is confusing everyone.
Would be nice to have a board up for the people to put those order tickets on and have less confusion.
They said a 25% discount would be given. I could have sworn she told me 15%. I guess I should do the math but I didn't get an itemized receipt.
My nephew and his fiance said it was a good place. 25% off. So sure, let's give it a go.
So now about the food: Phô I wish it was bone broth (if it was hmm), not so fatty and salty. Noodles great. Chicken, dry, how can you have dry chicken in a soup...well I did. What did this? Was it pre cooked? That broth would cook it lovely sliced thin added fresh. It was like shredded chicken. Nope, dry, chewy and stringy.
I have never gotten veggies in with my noodles, let alone some on the bottom and some on the top.
I prefer veggies on the side. The bowl was warm so they were black and wilted from the ride home. If you take it to go you loose out on the additional condiments. You don't get any to go cups for them.
I had no Rooster sauce (called it that I when I was in Cali) aka Saracha. Had Hoisin though.
Shrimp chips were fresh, a tad greasy.
Bao bun was pork. The meat was very good. It was soft as a pillow. Veggies lacked freshness for me. No crisp snap to them. Like soggy over sat in marinated liquid. Bitter now even. Put my tastebuds off.
I got veggies on the side for the pork bánh mì. (I miss the patè one..yum.)
I am glad I did those carrots were no Bueno. Measue please measure for consistency. The marinade is off amd they sat in it way too long.
Price is higher than expected. This is a simple meal where the meat/proteins are the higher price point. If they can master that broth, I would have no problem paying this cost.
I am tasting it one more time, the broth..nope. Why is it sweet?
I bought 4 items to see what the flavor profile is about. They don't use enough veggies, bean sprouts and basil for this price point. Perhaps they are trying to make up for this discount.
I love the flavors of basil, mint, and cilantro. Most have at least basil and cilantro for the soup. I had just basil.
Bring on that flavor! You got the grilled meat right. What about the rest?
I like this when I don't feel well or just like to eat lighter. In Cali I ate this and Dim Sum every week. Wish they had a French/Viet place here also. I keep hoping for the Gold Laying Goose her in Florida. I have been to Orlando, Ocala, Jacksonville, Tampa, and St. Pete trying different spots. Still hoping.
The older woman was a pure doll. She kept asking why I was waiting. They give Tips...TIPS to The Humane Society...I have to give them...
Read moreOur go-to pho spot is closed; so, I decided to try this place. I ordered two round eye steak pho soups to go; one for me and the other for my wife. I picked up the order, which came out to a little over $30. When I got home, I noticed that nearly half the broth in one container was at the bottom of the plastic bag. I called and spoke with the young lady who answered the phone and I suggested that next time, they use saran wrap to make sure the broth containers were sealed so that they won't leak. She tells me that they can double bag it next time. I told her that wouldn't solve anything if the broth containers themselves had no wrap to keep everything inside. She then tells me that they can put the broth containers in a separate bag by themselves. What?! How is that different from double bagging? I've ordered soup to-go from many places and it's either saran wrapped or secure enough to not leak out. By the time I got home to eat, there was not enough broth to enjoy the meal as it was meant to be enjoyed. What makes it so bad was that the broth was actually good. The beef was not so good...it was pretty dry. I could forgive that; but, the lack of customer service in that moment will make me not want to return to this establishment. I live too far to have to deal with shotty decisions like that. Saran wrap your broth containers to ensure your customers don't lose half of their soup in transit or at least make sure the container is securely closed. I'll need to look for some other pho spots around...
Read moreWe went today and wanted to check it out I usually go to the other pho spot on 19 in the old sweet tomatoes plaza I figured I love a good pho so let’s give it a try . It was clean from what I could see friendly staff we spent $75.40 our order was the following 2x Spicy beef pho 2x Fresh spring rolls 1x 4 piece wing 1x green tea milk bulba 1x Mango bulba
Let’s start with the spring rolls , you can tell the owners are authentic but who ever is in the kitchen aren’t! The spring rolls weren’t rolled tight what’s so ever first bite they came apart they looked puffy and a little off no big deal it’s not easy to roll rice paper I understood.
The wings, Honestly good and fresh came out hot and the plating was cute. Not really seasoned dipped in a tempora batter of some sort but again good .
The pho….
Very disappointing!! The broth was bland we tried everything to give it flavor Sriracha lime.. mint… sprouts … salt .. pepper … it was just bland the noodles were huge which to each is own I like the smaller rice noodles I feel as if they complement the broth and flavors better . Over all I did not finish mine but I must say the owners or managers asked everyone how the food was and thanked us for coming In it’s a little pricey but overall I’ll stick to the other place it’s cheaper more authentic...
