I finally got my hands on Molly! It actually wasn't nearly as bad a wait as I feared; there was no line to order, and it took me about fifteen minutes to get my drink. I guess it's because I came early and it was a bitterly cold day so not many people were out and about in general. Anyway, I ordered the hot Snowy Jasmine and it was way better than I expected. Tbh as eager as I was to try Molly, I kinda thought the drinks wouldn't be that special and it was just social media hype that made it so popular, but now I see there's a reason for the hype! It was honestly some of the best jasmine tea I've ever had, intensely flavored and floral, and wonderfully balanced with the milk. If you don't like floral flavors then you'll be in for a bad time, but as someone who loves jasmine tea I can confidently say this is probably the best jasmine tea I've ever gotten from a boba shop. I ordered 70 percent sugar as recommended, but tbh it was still a bit sweet for my tastes, but def not undrinkable by any means. If I ever go back, I'll get a lower sugar level. I am also glad I got it without any boba or toppings bc I felt like I could better appreciate the tea on its own (plus the jasmine whipped cream of course).
I also really appreciated the service and packaging. They have a very efficient operation here; whenever I was confused about where to go or wait, there was always someone to guide me. And behind the counter you can see like 10 people working on drinks at once so it's clear they're trying their hardest to meet the demand. I was also given a napkin and spoon along with a straw; the spoon was great for scooping out the pecan bits. The straw was very small, which meant it took me a long time to finish the drink, and there was a lot more drink than I was expecting too, so I felt the price was actually worth it (I've paid more for worse tea, that's for sure).
In the end, I can say it was worth the 15 minute wait, but tbh I wouldn't wait an hour for it. I mean, it's a delicious drink and all, but it's not mindblowingly life-changing, which is what I'd expect after waiting for that long lmao. But I am glad I tried Molly, and I'm looking forward to the one in Boston opening (since that'll be much more accessible to me). Though I'll probably hold off on going there until the hype dies...
Read moreMy wife and I are big fans of Molly Tea in Flushing. We’ve always loved their drinks and creative menu. During our recent visit, we ordered two drinks, but unfortunately, we ended up with upset stomachs later that day. While we’re not entirely sure if it was from the drinks, I suspected it might have been the milk used.
Concerned, I called the shop to let them know about the possibility of bad milk, and the shift manager who answered the phone was incredibly kind and professional. He apologized sincerely for the experience and immediately offered us a refund along with a free drink on our next visit. It was clear that customer satisfaction was a top priority for them.
The manager even went the extra mile to investigate and reassured me that their milk was not expired (it doesn’t expire until the end of the month) and that their tea and ingredients are tested every morning by the manager, brewer, and another employee. That process gave me peace of mind and showed me that they take quality seriously. It’s possible we just had a bad batch or a bit of bad luck, especially since it was the first thing we drank that morning besides water.
Despite the mishap, the initiative and care taken by the staff impressed us enough that we’re definitely willing to give Molly Tea another chance. Hopefully, we get our refund soon, but either way, we’re looking forward to trying their drinks again.
Great customer service like this is rare, and it makes all the difference!
Update: Jake promised a refund, but I’m still waiting for it. Hopefully the shift manager remembers.
Update: had to give them three stars never got our refund as he promised. Haven’t gone back since.
Update: everything is squared away. Management was on top of it. Incredible customer service....
Read moreTheir jasmine milk tea is top tier and I don't think any other bubble tea spot comes close. They've been doing more promotions as of late like BOGO for new drinks, reward promos etc. I visited again recently for their anniversary promotion where we could get a blind bag fridge magnet with purchase of their anniversary combo (osmanthus milk tea and gardenia). I usually stick to the tried and true jasmine tea so this was a nice change from my usual order. I didn't like the floral taste of the gardenia drink that much but I enjoyed the mellow floral taste of the osmanthus milk tea. I think I've also tried their white champaca before but it wasn't that memorable compared to the best selling jasmine milk tea. I was pleasantly surprised to see that they had an oat milk option for the jasmine milk tea and didn't upcharge for it (a win for lactose intolerant folks). I went with the jasmine oat milk tea, light ice and 70% sugar which is what they recommend. Thank goodness I didn't have to wait too long for my drink, maybe around 5 minutes. Just had to keep on eye on the TV screens for my number to be broadcasted or for the staff to announce it.
The straw is very thin...is it a straw? I could only slowly drink the milk tea which I'm not complaining about as it allowed me to appreciate the jasmine flavor of the milk tea more. It's different from other jasmine milk teas I've tried, it's not too creamy but still is a milk tea while somehow allowing the jasmine flavor to shine through.
I totally get why they're so popular and had lines out the door when they first opened. Perhaps the hype has died down a bit now but it can hold it's own in Flushing's competitive...
