El Panadero Bakery — Restaurant in New York

To be frank this store is so popular amongst the locals that it would be a disaster if i posted a low score but in all honest truth the baked goods are exquisite except the ham and cheese rolls are sold hardened and basically they don't produce them fresh enough constantly that i find myself buying it hard and not the freshest avialible. My biggest sour note is the staff. Because im not Spanish they will skip you on line and provide mediocre service while looking bored and snobbish yet cheerful and quick behind their dominican kind. I understand the importance of countrymen but this is a public business and non dominicans get treated with longer order times and given bread that has been under the heater for a while instead of the fresh pile or a quick service. Today i got skipped over nunerous times and waited an extra 20 min till was served my coffee with a frown and look of disgust. And god forbid if im short 25 cents they will refuse the order while allowing others a shorted amount almost constantly. They need to change this attitude or eventuakly it will bite them and give them a bad reputation...

I was craving a late night snack and went to the bakery. They didn't have any kind of cake I was in the mood for so I bought a ham and cheese and a coffee. My daughter wanted rice pudding but the lady behind the counter said she didn't know how many days the pudding had been in the display and we decided against buying it because the one of the puddings had mold on it. I thought it might have been a raisin because people sometimes put raisins in their pudding. But when I noticed none of the other puddings had "raisins" I quickly declined. When I got home with my coffee and ham and cheese sandwich, the lady had drowned my sandwich with ketchup. Why would she put ketchup in my ham and cheese sandwich?? I didn't ask for ketchup in my sandwich. I was SUPER DISAPPOINTED with this bakery and the health department needs to do an inspection on those puddings in the display window! Before...

There’s a dark skin employee here that yelled at my mother. She’s dark skin and Spanish. we’ve never seen her there before idk if she’s new or what. She asked my mother in a very rude tone what do you want. My mom ignored her attitude at first. My mom continued on her ordering and when my mom asked for another one. The rude employee yelled and said that’s all we have. Now my mother yelled back saying what’s with the attitude and they started to yell at each other. Mind you I was not there, if I was this would have end up differently. My mom walk away without buying anything. And there was another employee here but she ignored what was happening.
