Refused to refill any food that had ran out with having an hour and a half of being open still. The only place I'm aware of that has peanut chicken and rose chicken so this is the Chinese place we decided to eat tonight. VERY disappointing!! This is only a buffet so it's not like you can order something else. We arrived 2 hours before closing and after about 30 minutes I asked about egg drop soup since the pot was completely empty, nothing happened.. I waited 15 more minutes and asked again and included steam dumplings and dumpling soup (had broth but no dumplings..) had to ask 3 separate people (1 which just shrugged his shoulders and turned away) then our server replied it takes awhile to make.. waited another 30 minuted and still nothing was refilled.. I can understand an hour before closing to not want to make a ton of food but 2 hours before? That was ridiculous.. there were 6-7 items that were completely empty!! Then I noticed about 9:15, they were transferring cold items into bowls out of the pans in the bar and were placing on top of the bar nowhere near ice to keep it at temperature (crab salad, squid something or other, etc..) would not recommend to anyone after this experience.. I did give 2 stars because the peanut chicken and rose chicken are delicious when available!!

Not a bad buffet. Wife and I stopped here for dinner on our last night in town. Pretty good selection of food. Its your typical buffet, don't expect the highest quality food in the world. If you're concerned about COVID, I'd strongly recommend not coming here. Masks are required when at the actual buffet, but there is not really much sanitation going on when it comes to the scoopers and tongs of the actual food. They had one hand sanitizing station located at the very front entrance of the restaurant. Despite the fact that it might have looked like we were dining and dashing, we just decided to go walk to it after each trip up to the buffet. Better safe than sorry. Wife and I had a pretty bad stomach ache after eating here, hard to say whether it was from this particular buffet or something else we might have eaten...figured I should mention that though. Not bad, and dinner price was pretty good. If I lived here I'd probably come back, but would feel better if there was more sanitation going on or at least some more hand sanitizer options. At the end of the day though...if you're seriously concerned about COVID you're probably not going to buffets...LOL

me and my boyfriend come here often and the food is always wonderful , anytime i have family in town we come here to eat but after our experience today we will unfortunately not be returning . i bit into my fortune cookie and ended up swallowing whatever this is , and not even a minute later my friend was eating the ice cream and pulled a piece of GLASS out of her mouth . forgot to take a picture of the glass before the “manager” took it . my boyfriend lets the “manager” know what has happened and then says he will discount the persons food with glass in it but wont do anything for us because the fortune cookies are complimentary . we arent looking for a free meal , we are in our 20s so that could be what they thought. we were looking for someone who cared and would fix the problem . ive been in the service industry for almost 10 years and ive never had such an uncaring interaction . $1 off of my friends meal with glass in it , and $2 off of our meal with the fortune cookies … and no sympathy at all .

We had a pick up from this place as a part of our hunt for a good Chinese food. Unfortunately, the hunt doesn't stop here. Nothing drastically wrong with the food but nothing great as well.

Food: They have good options in terms of their vegetarian menu. We went for Vegetable Chop Suey, Vegetable Mei Fun and Egg Rolls. The first thing you notice about the food is that they are very generous with portions. We underestimated that for two people and had plenty of left over as we started eating. The egg rolls were good. Nice crispy on the outside and the stuffing was well seasoned. Vegetable Mei Fun was good and well seasoned. The veggies blended well with the thin rice noodles, however, I would have loved a bit of spice to it. However, Vegetable Chop Suey was disappointing. The veggies were bland and rice didn't really add anything to the flavor. And this, in spite of specifying to make it spicy in the instructions. Overall, not very encouraging experience.

Ambiance: The restaurant itself looked good for having a dine in. It was well lightened. With glass windows, I bet, plenty of sunlight on a sunny day. Overall, looked like a good place to have a nice and cozy lunch/dinner.

Staff: The staff was good. However, the service was on a little slower side. Even after ordering, it took me about 15mins to reach there and then a wait of another 15mins till I had my order in my hand. With such small order, I was expecting a little fast service. However, the gentleman at the counter was welcoming and friendly.

Overall, not a very encouraging place, especially if you are looking for something spicy (read, Asian taste) to eat in your...

When they first opened they were amazing, great variety and always fresh....but that was then, this is now. In the time that they have been open you can see where their food AND service has gone down hill. The reason I preferred NCB to the other Chinese joint in Newport was because of the great fresh food, but it isn't always fresh, you can come in at noon and get something that had sat out for at least all morning, possible from the previous day. And the service and been progressively worse as well. Once upon a time the servers were friendly and fun folk, but the fair-tale has ended. Now they seem to employee only stoic, angry people/ As far as service goes, since all they do is bring your drink, its kind of hard to mess that up, but they have succeeded at a hard task. Consistently she would bring the wrong drinks to the wrong people and when they were the same drink and she mixed them up, she said it was ok since they were the same drink, ignoring the fact that they had straws in them still and one of us might have been sick. The last two times we have been, we were all forced to pay before we were finished eating, and the lady wouldnt leave the table until we signed the tickets. She reached over my friends shoulder (who was still eating) to reach the slip. She also demanded a tip from one person at the table and then when the tip wasnt as she would have liked she scoffed at us all and stomped off cursing. Obviously we wont be back, at least not for...
